DAYS: Discussion for the month of May

I agree.

But i wouldn't be counting down to Days getting the axe to be honest. They are working under a 40% budget cut, holding on pretty strong to number three in the ratings and getting a emmy nom? They have a lot of hope.

There's no real hope in this genre left lol. But I'll take what I can get and Days is more than giving it lately :) I found the original Variety article reporting Days renewal and it mentioned that provided certain parameters were met or exceeded, the show would get a 1 year automatic renewal to Sept 2011.

It also mentioned Days used to collect $1.7-1.8 million per week and others reported that was slashed 40% i.e. to just over $1 million per week. That means Days had to slash $700,000 at least per week. Doing the maths from those Dee Hall divorce papers implies Dee was earning $1.3m per year which equates to only (lol) $25,000 per week. Assuming Drake was getting the same as Dee and combined MBE, SN and sun-tan-man got $50,000 per week, that still leaves a hole of $600,000 per week. Cutting production to 36 weeks per year (leaving the studio dark for 1/4 of the year) must save quite a bit I guess, together with the behind the scenes crew that were canned (that JKJ mentioned), pay cuts for the remaining cast, Hogan Sheffer's tea and cake cart gone (just kidding), but does that equal $600,000? Tomlin must be great at balancing the books and putting out a show that doesnt look like Blair-witch-meets-Guiding-Light. Or Corday is taking less cash (read profit) in? I find it hard to believe the show is making Corday money from the NBC fee alone (he might be with international sales though).

So Gordon Thomson's character's name is Walter Kent. Kent as in Penelope Kent. Probably just an oversight, but we can always dream :)

Loved Monday's show except for Phillip and Daniel. I think Daniel is the only character that I really hate on this show.

I liked the Bo and Victor scenes today where Victor told Bo how he thinks he's morally superior and how Bo is ashamed of the fact that Victor's really his father...

And what in God's name possessed you to turn this "show" on, in the first place?
