I agree that a business connection would have been far more convincing.

AFAIC there could have been a romantic/sexual component to their business relationship as well. But as presented, Iris sighing over Michael didn't do anything for me.

To me it made Iris seem desperate, clinging, I didn't care for it, at all.

Love me a desperate, clinging Iris. Hahhahahaha. ❤️

Good for Micheal! I know he's shaming Iris, but she's asking for it. She really has a lot of nerve trying this with him over & over. I mean he's been clear. No mixed signals, none at all. I even find it difficult to imagine that time in the past when they apparently had a thing.

Good for him, yes... but I do hope she creates some trouble for them... because it will be fun. Donna is so annoying that I would love to see her over-react and get hysterical.  🤣

I just wanted to make it clear since I can't go back and edit that Joanna Going's point was that actresses after her had to sign three year contracts and she only signed for two. I like Joanna Going as an actress, but the writer's need to make her such a victim made was so unappealing. When she showed backbone (like in the scene with Vicki mentioned above), she  had the spark and intelligence of a fantastic heroine. I don't know why soap writers almost always had to dumb down and exploit the female characters.

I actually don't like her as an actress at all. I hope I don't offend anyone. (Why would I) I think often times, especially when she's in a scene with Anne Heche... she just pales in comparison and doesn't do much for me. But I like the character, the Lemay/Swajeski version. Not the MDB one. I like Lisa as a character better than that trainwreck Vicky, who is annoying as hell.

I can hardly wait for you to experience the real Donna Love. I don't think you will find her annoying. I mean she is a snob. She does have pretensions. In a way she is a rich bitch. But there's just something about her. AW has so many strong females. And Donna is one of them. There were times when Marley tried her patience. Jake did frequently. Vicky usually got a pass. Her father, Reginald, was an awful man. Her brother Peter & their sister Nicole were alright. She'd been in love with Michael since he was the stable boy, before he made his fortune.

I can't wait too. The current version/way of playing it... is not my cup of tea. ❤️

Why would you offend anyone? It's your opinion. We can't all like the same people. I think Going could have risen to the challenge if given the material but it's hard to play the perpetual victim.

It's such a breath of fresh air to read a comment like this. Thank you!  Sadly... I'm used to people jumping on me and acting like I've offended their mother or sister... when I have an opinion like it. That's why I always say in advance that I don't mean to offend anyone - just as prophylaxis to a potential breakdown I may trigger. 🤣 Sometimes soap fans feel incredibly protective over actors/actresses (which I don't think there's anything bad about... to an extend). But there comes a time where I've had people threaten me and issue personal insults at me, just because I've expressed a negative opinion about someone's acting.

So... cheers to having honest opinions and sharing them with each other.  ❤️

I'm tempted at this point to claim offense. No, I'm kidding, of course. I do happen to like Joanna Going. I liked her on AW. I liked her on the primetime reboot of Dark Shadows. I liked her on that primetime show where some people were on an island in the Mediterranean, I think it was called Going to Extremes. Charles Keating was in it also. But, no, I don't require that others like her, just because I do. That would be, frankly, very odd.

Where can this Anne Heche movie be seen? It's one I have not seen.

IMO Philece was a terrible recast.

Philece Sampler never had a chance because her Donna does not get great storylines or writing. Sampler was wrong for the part, but I do have some affection for her. It's hard to explain. I think the one who really got shafted was Anne Howard. I really liked her Nicole and her relationship with Cass. I hated how Nicole was destroyed by Swajeski. It would have been nice to have Stuart's Donna have a long-term sibling when she returned.

Well, I don't know if this helps any but I absolutely loved Philece on DAYS. Her Renee Dumonde DiMera was amazing, impeccable, exciting & when she threw a party & told off the whole town it was an episode like no other!!!

I know what you mean about Anne Howard. She definitely got a raw deal with the writing. I mean you could make a case that Jason Frame deserved killing. When Nicole offed him she was basically taking up for her mother.
