Oh, thank God we're not in for another psychotic mama-wannabe.

TC hasn't been up to par for a long time. I'm not saying she was ever Beverlee McKinsey or anything - but there was a time you could tell she was at least really putting her heart and soul into the material. I don't think she has for at least three or four years now.

I think she's bored. I agree, she's never been a day in, day out dramatic actress. You almost can't blame her---the writing is crap. I'd be more than happy to see both Brad and Katie vamoose after this revelation.

Oh, I blame the writing. (Although I do wish she'd put a little more oomph into her performances, even if the writing does suck). I know Ruxton will crap all over me for saying this, but I loved Katie in the earlier part of the decade. I liked the comedic, slightly-ditzy, self-centered schemer. (And I was a huge Henry/Katie fan... NOT romantically, but just as partners in crime)

But I haven't enjoyed watching her in YEARS. It bums me out. I'd much rather see Katie leave, then see her reduced to this.

I'm not sure TC/Katie ever got over the flucking Simon/hounding him like a vicious bitch storyline debacle. I know TC said at one point she wanted Katie to grow up...but I think she misses being the zany darling of the show. And now TIIC have no clue what to do with her character.

Exactly. And if TPTB ever attempted to bring Katie back to being the eccentric, comical schemer, guess what? It won't work. They have travelled too far in the other direction for that to work. At this rate, I'd rather see Katie go the way of Dee Stewart, Jeff and Annie Ward, Cricket Montgomery, and all those other, great ATWT characters who have left town and are likely never to be brought back.

I wanted to mention this the day it aired...Bob and Kim? Together? Alone? And having a cute conversation? And discussing Bob'a history with Lisa without it sounding forced? Awesome!!

LMAO. The first thing that comes to my mind is the part in the A-Team opening where Murdock is in a wedding gown.

Ugh....the ever changing Luke Snyder Foundation shifts gears again today---it's gone from supporting gay rights to meals for the elderly and now (*drumroll*) they're going to send sick Oakdalian kids to a dude ranch in Montana. Or a cruise. Or maybe a dude cruise with seahorses they can all ride...I'm no longer sure.

Am I the only one who understands that Damian's cargo ships might not be outfitted to house sick children? But nnnoooo...in this Scooby-Doo world, Damian's terse refusal means it's time to send Shaggy and Velma to the docks to check it out for any nefarious looking thugs.

Today's other plot was a by-the-numbers mess as well. (It's been a long time since Carly wasn't the focus of an episode she was in btw...) Dusty gets the bright idea to plant evidence, only to have Carly catch him in the act. (It really is time to change those locks at Metro...Dusty hasn't owned it in probably five years) Thank goodness the OPD isn't quite that stupid...it raises Jack's Spidey senses, while Carly lamblasts Craig with her theory---Lucy has betrayed her father! Of course, I'm not allowed to enjoy any of it, since PodCraig has suddenly turned into Father of the Year material.

LOL. I was following the "live blog" from AfterElton and I wonder about the shift in what Luke's Foundation was currently doing this month. Yet, folks wonder why other viewers are utterly bored with the NUKE storyline. Why are two 20 year-olds saddled with running a "foundation" that on ANY OTHER soap opera, would be apart of an older character's storyline?!

Look at Lizzie on Guiding Light: She's currently working at her family's company, but for the past couple of weeks, it's been about her taking time off to be with Bill and focus on their renewed love for each other. It's all Bizzie, Bizzie, Bizzie and their lovely little romantic escapades in NYC and more recently, Florida.

This is how NUKE should be, but for their ENTIRE storyline, it's been ANGST, ANGST, ANGST and it's become BORING and DULL angst.

The only "enjoyable" aspect of the Carly/Jack/Janet or Dusty/Lucy storylines for me IS PodCraig (and this comes from someone who adores Scott Bryce). Jon L. is making this latest version of PodCraig very entertaining for me.

I just hate Craig, post-Hogan. I think Lindstrom simply fits an image. He's utterly boring in the role. I know a lot of posters who've drunk the blue kool-aid on him....honestly, I don't understand why. He's nearly as devoid of warmth as Block was.

I don't like the Thug-ifying of Oakdale. Paul, Dusty and Craig are practically the same morally challenged Dark Prince character. And I hate that Oakdale revolves around them.

But it's not Nuke's fault! It's the writers' fault for writing them that way! We haven't been happy with the writing much at all either!! Luke and Noah have suffered because of the writing! I mean...before the writing started to suck, there were great things like......uhhh.......uhhhhh....before the writing started to suck......there were great stories like....there was that one great story where.....uhh....uh......uh...........

I have yet to see any spice between Luke and Noah at all. Every time they have a somewhat racy moment, it's immediately dipped in gold, put on YouTube, and hailed as a tender milestone that shows the substantial progress that we've made over the last twenty-five years, dating back to Steven Carrington, who married women and a childzzzzblahblahzzzblahblahblahzzzzzzzzz.

Seriously. [!@#$%^&*] waiting around and doing things slow. ATWT would have balls to me if they jumped head first into this [!@#$%^&*]. If Zac seduced Noah enough that they had dirty, filthy sex all over Luke's bed, THAT would have been spicy! They're young adults (reaaaallly young adults, only 20 years old, maybe even 19 still), yet they're being written like they're 40. If you removed the gay elements of their stories, replaced with "Luke" with "Kim" and "Noah" with "Bob," it would make sense.

    • I don't really care about what the men are wearing, or not wearing.   What I care about is focusing on the writing and character development for each of the male characters. Andre really doesn't have a lot of character development that sets him apart from the other male characters except that he seems content to be degraded and mistreated by the elitist Dani.  I would like to know why a good looking younger guy like Andre would willingly be at the mercy of an emotional vampire such as Dani.   Martin, on the other hand, seems to have decent character development.. and it is partly due to how the actor chooses to recite his lines.  Martin was raised in a very privileged household and probably went to the best schools... so it makes sense that he would come across as thinking he was above everyone else.  Most people raised in a upper class situation as the Duprees would view themselves as better than others (it's the same trait Dani seems to employ on those she feels superior to). It makes me wonder how Nicole came out of that family being so warm and nurturing  when her family dynamics seemed very appearance oriented.
    • I know, right. I after just re-reading the thread, I'm like ooppph!
    • Lulu and Dante were divorced before her coma, but she was still in love with him.  He just didn't know.  They haven't been married for years.    I was pretty mixed about Lulu getting involved when it was just a child out there in the world, but now that she realizes it's Gio I am okay with her telling Dante.  It also is her son's sibling.  I still think it's BLQ's choice though.  Lulu is in a rough spot because I think Dante will be mad if she keeps it a secret and Chase, Brook, Lois, etc will be mad if Lulu tells. Without veering too far into the classic area of the show, I had no problem with Robin telling AJ about Michael.  It may not have *exactly* been her place, but she could see how Carly was manipulating the entire situation.  It also ruined her romantic relationship with Jason for good.  Jason and Sonny were furious with Robin and practically ran her out of town, so I think we were to believe she was the bad guy.  It was a bit out of character for Robin to spill, but KMc was leaving the show.
    • Rewatching/binging THE X-FILES Seasons 1 and 2 (almost done). So much fun re-experiencing, especially re-discovering some of the monster-of-the-week stories. THE WEST WING Seasons 1 and 2 as well - so good to rewatch now with 20 years more life experience and understanding. ALSO.... lol FOOTBALLERS' WIVES Season 3, which is just as bonkers as I remember and so so so so fun. I had forgotten about that iconic season cliffhanger. Good times. Excited to rewatch Seasons 4 and 5 since I remember so very little about them. Hope you've been enjoying!
    • @Toups Tyler Topits listed in alpha order with the breakdown writers 5/12 Monday episode. O'Connor still listed as both breakdown and script writer. Kreizman wrote today's script.
    • Marland was long gone by this point.  He quit in either August/September 1982. I think it was due to letting the actress play out her contract and use her for party scenes and/or scenes with Phillip/Justin.   I was surprised she was still on in June 1983 myself, because I figured she had been written out before Pam Long joined the writing staff. Thankfully, having episodes uploaded during this period on Spauldingfield YT site has helped to connect some of the dots.  It looks as though Pam Long starts the first week or so of May 1983.. and in those first few weeks: Morgan and Evie were both written off and Lillian/Mindy/Billy/Beth/Annabelle all come onto the show.
