Members jacks
I just went on youtbe and noticed that they now have full length episodes of AW, GL, ATWT and YR. Its interesting to see how much more in commercial ad time they have added to the soaps over the years because the AW episodes run about 42-43 minutes (in 1991) whereas GL now typically has about 36 min. per episode, down to the bone almost. Since the CBS soap are already streamed online, will you turn to youtube to watch older episodes?
Members Y&RWorldTurner
Cool to hear.... I wonder since GL is going off the air in a few months, will we get some older stuff on the GL playlist? One can only hope.
Members All My Shadows
I don't get it...there have been lots and lots and lots of soap episodes on YouTube for at years. Is this a new legal thing on YouTube or something?
Members Y&RWorldTurner
Yes, this is a legal agreement.
Members All My Shadows
Oooooh, okay. Thanks. Can you give me a link, please? The PGP Classic Soaps channel should definitely think about relocating to YouTube. I didn't watch on AOL because their player was wonky, but if they put them on YouTube, I'd no-doubt watch at least on a semi-regular basis. Members All My Shadows
Ooooh!! Thanks!!!! Just like AOL's player, Hulu's player is always screwy for me, so to have their AW episodes on YouTube now is perfect. Great job, TeleNext/PGP! LMAO, the ATWT episodes start with Noah's first appearance. Now everyone can truly see how rushed that hideous pairing was.
Members SnCCorinthos4ever
I put a post up in the music and movies forum about youtube that you all may find interesting. http://boards.soapoperanetwork.com/index.php?showtopic=30155 Basically it says that youtube can now play full length movies and TV shows. Members bellcurve
YEEEEES! Now, TeleNext, do right by us and put Edge on YouTube!
Members Y&RWorldTurner
Thanks for sharing! Wow, I guess the major studios and networks finally figured out that if you can't beat 'em, join 'em.
Members DRW50
I hope this doesn't mean they're going to take down the classic clips of GL and ATWT that so many have put on Youtube. That's what the BBC did when they put up a very weak Eastenders channel.
Administrator Toups Posted April 18, 2009 Administrator Share Posted April 18, 2009 Yay! They're letting international viewers see the channel (for now!). If they keep putting up for more episodes, I am so going to keep track of the Directors and Script Writers for AW!
Members Y&RWorldTurner
I've very scarcely followed the AW credits, but it seems to me that they don't list their Script Writers. It seems the Script Writers are always listed in the same order, episode after episode.
Members All My Shadows
Oh my...I never thought about that. I hope they don't think to touch those episodes! When CBS put up Y&R, all of its episodes stayed intact, I think, so we shall see...
Members AllAboutAngst
I'm hoping the same. I wonder what made them decide to start with June 2007? I hope they don't put up 2008 at all, I'd like to forget that whole damn year of GL.
