Members JackPeyton
LOL. Sheffer's ratings sucked because he was an awful match at Days.
Members SteveFrame
AMen. The fan bases can say whatever they want was the reason but the biggest and main reason was that Sheffer was not right for Days. The whole time he was there Days did not feel like Days. He didn't know how to write Days. Add to that the fact that Sheffer is a good writer only when he has a strong person over him and guiding him or working alongside him. He is good with Bell and he was good with Culliton.
Members RalphOrtiz
I doubt that GL would ever see third place again, cancellation or not. As you mention, they're probably just concerned with cheaper programming, but it's a shame. CBS is in first place in both daytime and primetime. They could have kept GL on the air, even though it may be losing them money. GL is an institution, and CBS should be embarrassed for cancelling the show. All of the soaps are suffering, not just GL, and to cancel it spells additional doom for the industry. CBS has just speeded up the process. Members brimike
I love my soaps, don't get me wrong - but did you really just compare a television show to the United States Constitution?
