Members Antoyne
I dunno if anyone else caught it, but Marty was totally non chalant about Blair falling in but once they zoomed in she was concerned..I preferred the first reaction. LOL David: "I've missed you. I've missed us. We're fun"
Administrator Toups Posted February 9, 2009 Author Administrator Share Posted February 9, 2009 Come on, Marty, like you didn't know Blair was gonna pull you in the water too.
Members DrewH
Loved when Blair pulled Marty into the water. Hate her!
Members DavidEvanSmith
Is there anyone else who doesn't see the appeal of Moe/Noelle at ALL?! I have never understood it. Don't buy it, don't enjoy it, not entertained by it, not moved by it, not concerned with it... nothing. Just useless. That they're even paired is astonishing, that they're even receiving an on-screen wedding is perplexing.
Administrator Toups Posted February 9, 2009 Author Administrator Share Posted February 9, 2009 It's only a small Las Vegas wedding - they were married by a James Brown impersonator! It's not like they got a huge wedding or they're own storyline or anything. No big deal. I think they're good supporting characters and they're funny. Members brimike
I'm with you, DES. I liked them in Paris, but really - that's where they should have stayed. There's something about bringing Paris to Llanview that rubs me the wrong way, but I don't know why. I loved those few months back in 2007. But it should have just stayed that - a few months. Members Antoyne
I despise the couple. I'm not entertained by them in the least and just want them to go away.
Members Vee
I like Moe and Noelle. So there.
Members brimike
LOL! Yeah, I realize I'm probably the minority and most OL fans like them. I don't hate them - just don't really see their purpose. I'm sure they're meant to be comic relief, but I myself don't find them funny. But yeah... it's definitely a matter of opinion. Members Vee
I think it has more to do with the overwrought perception that every character on the program must be "absolutely essential." OLTL and many, many soaps have had large recurring/supporting casts in the past. Moe and Noelle are just part of that; they're not hurting anybody. Members DavidEvanSmith
Oh I do believe all characters must serve a purpose! Why bother otherwise? There are characters, like Roxy or Addie, who have been pretty much REDUCED to "fluff roles" but because of their history and connections add flavor in an entertaining and meaningful way (for me). In days of budget crunches and soaps cutting the headlining stars of shows to save money, it perplexes me when things are structured around characters like Moe and Noelle who haven't leapt off the screen at me for ANY reason. I'm grateful we didn't need to lose Slezak or Strasser or Woods to be able to afford filling our screens with inconsequential characters like Moe and Noelle. I do really like the actress that plays Noelle and would have loved to see her in a different, less-grating role. I liked her better as Maria Roberts "maid friend" from 1968, and I find it a shame when a promising actress is placed in a limiting role like this... feels like a wasted opportunity. But I also think Gigi and Charlie were the ONLY characters that should have survived past Viki's arc at the Bon Jour. And I'm getting more and more iffy about Gigi lately, LOL. And I'm not trying to rain on the parade of anyone who likes them, I just wanted to know if I was the only one that just didn't get it and goes like this every time they're on-screen. Members rangethatrover
Damn. You guys are feeling me today! I decided not to bitch about Moe and Noelle because I figured it would just rub people the wrong way. WHAT A WASTE OF SPACE!!! Where the F does OLTL get all this money castingwise? Frank, once again, is the budgeting master. Moe and Noelle are not particularly funny, well written- and the woman especially- is not a good actress. Very cheesy. They are just not interesting. I could care less about them. OLTL really has too much deadweight on the show. I thought today's episode was painfully boring. Even Dorian and David. And damn if I don't want all those Montez's obliterated. If OLTL wants to give us some "ordinary folk" characters and actors- Michael and Marcie (who will reportedly be written out this spring) are played by two likeable and fine actors that the audience has investment in. I would much rather see them in a front burner storyline than the timewasting that IS Moe and Noelle. Today's episode was painful, other than Blair and Marty. I love those two together! Members Ripley Todd
I loved them in Paris. I resent them now because they get more story and airtime than some of the 'core essential' characters...
