Another thing! I am so glad that Ashley is back. I think she is back for good.

Eileen gives Ashley a very intelligent vibe. I like her.

I don't always buy Nikki as a business woman, or god knows I don't buy Gloria at all. Even Phyllis the brilliant "Web designer" has never rang true.

But Ashley has always seemed intellectual and classy.

So glad she's back. I hope Ashley detroys Gloria and sends Gloria outta town on a rail!

Oh- Sharon Case was wonderful today as were those scenes between Sharon and Jack.

I think Melody looks excellent. Do her jowels look better? For real?

Speaking up jowels- Daytimefan- Don't you think John McCook could use Jowel/Neck surgery?

His face and skin are looking excellent for a man his age, and I think getting his jowels and neck done would be a HUGE success. Especially considering that the trashy show he is on has his paired with someone 1/2 his age.

Judith Chapman is gunning for her Emmy and frankly she deserves to win, I [!@#$%^&*] HATE Gloria so Judith is playing her to perfection. I don't want to see Gloria redeemed. I want that bitch to fry!

I really want to see Jill confront Gloria in prison, everyone else has! My dream scene is for Jill to bitch slap her across her wide eyed face and then slap the other side right after and just scream at her in Jill Abbott style.

Eileen Davidson never should have been ousted by LML. She is elegant and intelligent and perfect. She is one of Y&R's great stars, she IS the Abbott family. Ironic that the best representation of John Abbott is the one child who isn't his...

I still do not buy Jack and Sharon and frankly I never will. I did enjoy Sharon sicking the dog on Jeff. Jeff also needs to die, that is one despicable character who is totally unsympathetic and has been written into a corner.

Really looking forward to

.

Just generally, I love Y&R.

Melody has definitely lost some weight, it really shows in her face.

John McCook would likely receive an optimal result from any sort of surgery. He has really good skin for his age. Whether he should do it is up to him of course, the roundness of his face definitely makes him look younger. Obliterating the jowls might actually end up aging him!

Sorry. Don't think that is going to happen. You may not like them but many find them entertaining. And the emmys love them. I find Lauren and Michael the most realistic couple on Y & R. I would like Gloria as more support and toned down though. Michael should be the center of this family. I always felt that from top to bottom they had the best actors in this family. Not one weak link. The other families have terrific actors but they also have average actors. Not those entertaining Fisher Baldwins. Now I am not counting Eden in this category. So far she is a weak link, but I'll give her time since the actress just started and also just turned 16. Even the two year old who plays Fen acts circles around Summer. He actually acts like a toddler. :P

Have to say though with the addition of Billy, the Abbotts are fast on their heals but they also have Colleen in that family which is a major drag.

OH can I chime in on the Y&R love! Gloria's downfall is so fun to watch. My best friend called me up after just to say "Sit, your ass down now!" The EP of ATWT Goutman, infamously said that he doesn't think people have the time or the energy to invest in a soap 5 hours a week. Well, I've never been so happy that Y&R is on every day!

MarkH - I did catch that look on Adam's face when Heather left, but I was still shocked. He's redeemable but i haven't the slightest clue as to how he'll ever fit in GC again. Glad you like my Kay theory! Oh and I like your new blog - very cool.

Loved River freaking out when he realized the money was gone from the teddy bear. He really was full of s*** this whole time! Does anyone know his last airdate?

Sigh - I want John back too. Did Kay and John ever date? Why didn't those two ever hook-up? i know John was with Jill and all but it seems odd in retrospect that they are equals of around the same age (I'm sure JC is older but you know) and there would have been lots of drama if they were together.

I'm going to really feel sorry for poor Murphy when he learns that Marge is dead. They've developed the Murphy and Katherine (even though he thinks she's Marge) relationship so well. This Kay/Marge storyline has been the best work Jeanne Cooper has done in years. She must be so happy.

What happens to Murphy when Katherine remembers who she is? I guess we'll have to wait and see, but I wouldn't mind Katherine finding love at her age.

I'm really enjoying the show at this point.

Even with spoilers, there are still surprises that aren't detailed.

It does make me wonder how Gloria and Jack and Adam are going to get out of their troubles. It would be disappointing to have their crimes swept under the rug,but what's the alternative?

The Abbott house a new sofa!!!In the midst of her marriage woes ,Sharon took the time to go shopping for a house she most probably move out of soon-what's up with that?

The house definitely needs a makeover, but that green sofa wouldn't have been my choice.

Ashley is indeed a dynamite character-except when she gets lovey dovey with Victor. All her intelligence goes out the window.I would have preferred Ashley keep Victor at arms length at this point, and have him earn her trust and respect.

Like the Jack/Billy dynamic.Billy is like Jack was 20 or so years ago.Is Jack going to face the fact that he is no longer the young stud/business dynamo he once was?

The show needs to step up the B stories.I like the idea of Tyra becoming a little more manipulative to spice up Neil/Karen.

Overall,though the show is cookin'

I think Maria Arena has the skills to redeem Adam. I think, though, it is best done the way they fixed Michael. Keep Engen on contract, but send the character offscreen to jail for a little while. Maybe bring him out to give an organ to Nick or Victoria or something.

I totally agree with you. Y&R proves five days a week can be compelling.

River...now he's totally on my hate list at this point.

Well, they came up with that retconned skinny dipping story, but other than that, for whatever reason, there was never a hint of romance.

I checked Michael Fairman's (the Murphy actor) resume at IMDB. What a long and distinguished soap and non-soap pedigree! AW! Ryan's Hope! I hope he stays around too. Once Kay becomes "The Duchess" again, it would be terrific to have salt of the earth Murph in the mansion, in the mix!

I just love Murphy. He'll be sad i think when he learns Marge is dead. i think though that he and Kay got a long much better though cause Marge was drunk most of the time.

I love that the show now knows when a bit of make-believe is OK. Like no one recognizes that her country twang is gone! But it doesn't really matter though does it? But other things like Sabrina being pregnant magically by a suppodedly "fixed" Victor doesn't make sense.

Maria Arena Bell is simply amazing. I'd love to be her assistant! :)

The greatest tv series season finale in history.
    • Mick Savage was sooo unbearable. And more unbearable was the reaction from the female characters to him - they were acting like he is God's gift to women and sooo irresistible. To a point of unbelievable cringe.
    • Today was a short one. Only 33 minutes.  The ‘Part One’ graphic at the beginning was pretty interesting though. I didn’t expect them to do something like that.  I like how everything was focused around John and his family and friends. Again, the acting and the dialogue was very well done and well written. And I love that they were able to incorporate Drake’s, “swing for the fences” phrase into the script. It was nice seeing everyone interact with each other, especially characters who don’t often share scenes together. It felt like every character was part of a big family or community. Plus, an outdoor funeral in June makes a lot more sense than an outdoor funeral in December.  But yeah, it’s very, very strange that Will isn’t at the funeral, especially since we know that

I would much rather he had been there today. And, where’s Anna too? And Jack and Jennifer? What was the point of bringing them all back if they weren’t going to attend the funeral? I expected Steve to want to close down BlackPatch, though I’d rather he just retire and let Paul take it over. But I like that Kayla was there to comfort him. I wonder if he’s going to change his mind at some point.  It was nice seeing Shane again too. Now, he just needs to have more scenes with his son lol but I enjoyed seeing him comfort Marlena. I’m not really sure about his interaction with Cat though? Was it really necessary for this to happen now, at John’s funeral? They could’ve waited a little longer to introduce this story arc.  Btw, was Tate bleeding from his head in his first scene with Arianna?

    • Now this strikes me as funny. I have it up on my acct. The thing is I only have S2. Didn't want either 1 or 3.  Perhaps I should just list all of these that I have up.  Parodies: Dirty Sexy Money, Filthy Rich Incomplete: The Monroes, All That Glitters, Falcon Crest (have all just not all up), Once & Again S2 only Complete: Models Inc, Pasadena, Pacific Palisades, Paper Dolls, Flamingo Road
    • This is wonderful! Thank you for posting this! I loved the first two seasons and never got to see the final season when they cancelled the DVD release. I've been hoping this popped up on streaming but no luck. Happy I'll finally get to see how it ended!

    • In case it is of interest to anyone here, I have digital copies (computer files, mp4 etc.) of all of the episodes. And, besides having the files they are all up on my usual video hosting site, acct name: shallotpeel, channel it is in: Primetime Soaps and file names like  Flamingo Road S1E15 Hurricane Flamingo Road was a primetime soap on NBC by Lorimar Productions. 2 seasons. 1980-1982. Morgan Fairchild, Barbara Rush. Developed by Rita Lakin.
    • Arguably DAYS OF OUR LIVES has been brilliant lately & definitely was last week. But, here I am with nitpick & technicalities. This was the only misstep but it was just a stupid thing that should have been caught. Deidre Hall as Marlena has this one problematic line, "It didn't matter how many identities you had, I always knew exactly who you were, you were the man who saved my life." - Marlena, DAYS, 6-2-25 Unfortunately the flashback closest to it was when Marlena was on the phone, terrified because she thought he was Stefano. Yes, it's true that the line is not accurate. There were many times when she did not feel the way she is claiming because of whatever was going on in story with his 'retconned to hell & back' identity & origin story. Does it keep the whole week from being called excellent? Nope.
