I mean, marceline would say encroaching dementia and I am more and more inclined to agree. It can't just be about the usual catastrophe he brings on himself, he's always done that.

I agree.  Besides, Trump doesn't need a public appearance to make an even bigger ass of himself.  He can stay home and do the same thing on Truth Social, or whatever the hell they call it.  But I definitely agree that his symptoms are making it harder and harder for his team to control him (that is, if they ever could, lol).

Also, I hope people take a second look at Stacey Abram’s another leader with high political acumen, who definitely knows how politics and public service works.

I'll be honest: I would have DIED if Harris had picked someone like Stacey Abrams to be her running mate.  America, in the hands of two Black women.  I'm not sure the rest of the country would have liked that, but I, for one, would have LOVED it.

Out of the candidates (both official and rumored) who didn't get the gig, I feel like Kelly would have been another safe, solid choice who could have appealed to progressives, centrists/moderates, independents and swing voters across the board, followed by Beshear.  Of course, there also was the very real danger of Kelly fading into the woodwork like Tim Kaine before him.  He would've needed to come across with more energy and enthusiasm, which Walz, a one-time Social Studies teacher who's used to getting people excited about stuff they otherwise wouldn't give a [!@#$%^&*] about, has in spades.

Shapiro, on the other hand, seems like a solid enough politician, but (sorry, @Vee) he comes with too much baggage, especially for the far-left whom, I'm sorry to say, we need along w/ independents and disgruntled Republicans if we're going to win.

(And as for Buttigieg...?  Well.  The more I think about it, the more I think he's primed more to be president rather than vice.  It's just a matter of time and waiting to see when, or even if, the country will be ready to embrace an openly gay man as its' commander-in-chief.)

My mother worked for years in the cafeteria of my old elementary school.  He is not kidding.

The Lieutenant Governor of Minnesota, Peggy Flanagan, is Native American, member of the White Earth Band of the Minnesota Chippewa Tribe.  If Walz takes office as Vice President of the U.S., Flanagan would become governor of Minnesota for the remaining two years of his term.

The state of Georgia still has a chance to correct their previous error in judgment by electing her as their next governor when the time comes.

I'm trying to confirm this, as it seems like CNN may be ahead of their skis and going by sources.

when gabby giffords was shot in 2011, reports started appearing online that she had been killed. as i recall, the report originated at npr and was picked up by virtually every mainstream media site — except for the new york times.

and so i shall wait.

something to look forward to…

I can't wait for the debate in which Harris annihilates Trump. I am already dreaming about it. He doesn't stand a chance. 😈
