It's very sobering that as Santorum and Gingrich fade into complete irrevelancy and Mitt gets the support of other media darlings like Marco Rubio, he still feels the need to essentially scorn people who need health insurance and mocking people who lost their jobs. This is the President we're going to have when the health insurance law is thrown out? What is he going to do - chuckle about it?

When media darlings meet. Mitt Romney gave $10,000 to National Organization for Marriage.

http://blog.sfgate.c...8-effort/?tsp=1

The focus there is on whether he violated California reporting laws, but what I'm more interested in is how he feels about NOM's decision to start some war between gays and blacks. Does he agree with that? Did they discuss this with him way back around the time he donated?

It looks like the "liberal" media is starting more puff pieces now that Romney has definitely locked up the nomination. Here's one on Ann Romney. She is a "rock star," and the not-so-subtle implication is that while Michelle Obama had to change herself in order to win support, Ann Romney is just naturally awesome.

http://www.politico.com/news/stories/0412/74718.html

I do respect what she's had to go through, with her health, but I find it very confusing that this "rock star" profile did not mention comments like this:

http://nymag.com/daily/intel/2012/03/ann-romney-dont-consider-myself-wealthy.html

Or, when talking about how she is some touchstone to true believers, there is no mention of her past donation to Planned Parenthood.

http://thecaucus.blogs.nytimes.com/2007/05/09/ann-romneys-planned-parenthood-donation/

I'm not sure exactly how you get a new Camelot out of this, but I guess we're going to get it anyway.

I'm still getting over her "unzip" comments. :o

So did anyone watch Sarah Palin on The Today Show? How desperate were NBC to ask her? It's not like Katie Couric is some morning powerhouse - she left the Today Show and their ratings had no big drop. They make themselves look bad.

As for Palin, I thought she hated the "lamestream" media.

I watched clips, she wasn't bad. I was hoping she would have done some actual hosting duties though. She could have easily handled the Tori Spelling interview, and it would have been cool to see her interview someone like Bill or Hillary and what kind of questions she would ask. She was an ok guest.

I can't believe the bullshit media hysteria over Hillary Rosen taking a jab at Ann Romney. No one in the media gave a hoot when Michelle Obama was called ugly, racist names, and painted as some type of America-hating demon. You can tell the media were just looking for a chance to "even the score" regarding the parties' views on women, even though one comment from a talking head would in reality not exactly match up to retrograde legislation in state after state after state. Does the media care that the "women for Romney" who go on about women losing their jobs actually voted against women having equal pay to men?

Rosen never even mentioned anything about mothers, it's was Ann Romney that added that. It isn't a lie that she never worked for a living, as in having to earn a paycheck and for that matter, her husband has never really had to survival, but rather for status. Rosen would have even said what she said if Mitt Romney hadn't labeled Ann one of his economic surrogates. With the primary over, Romney needs something to delay discussing the issues.

Then what she should have said is Romney never had to earn a paycheck. What she said was Romney never worked a day in her life. The next logical step in the chain is what was she doing instead. She was a mother and therefore motherhood is not work. Now realistically I am sure she had help and nannies and people to clean and everything else but the initial comment is almost the embodiment of the old debate about working women and stay at home moms and housewives. Rosen is on the wrong side of that debate. Alice Kramden knew back in 1955 that housewives work too.

Of course, The Romney experience was a little different than the Kramden one.

    • OH, I AM.   And it looks like it's a pretty good episode so I might watch later on this weekend after work cuz I see a lot of scenes with people I actually like. Very happy to see Rocco/Danny appear to be getting story, too.
    • I do agree that a revival of EON would work, if it doesn't fall into doing all of the typical soap opera tropes... which it became guilty of in the final few years of the show with the over abundance of Raven/Sky at the expense of the actual detectives, police, etc. And I know it was mentioned earlier that Raven had lost any true connections on the show with the death of her on screen mother, and the loss of April/Draper/Deborah.. and I do agree with that. I actually thought the show would have done something with the Shelley character that could have connected her to the Raven character.  There were a few scenes where the two would have scenes and size one another up before they would go their separate ways.. so I assumed perhaps they would have been revealed as half-siblings and/or perhaps cousins.  Alas.. not to be.
    • It definitely flowed beautifully. So much that I was annoyed when Vanessa/Doug because I wanted to get back to the party. I know it was intentional to build up tension and suspense. It worked. lol. I'm glad it was there in hingsight because it gave us that great conversation between Doug and Vanessa. Foreshadowing? And yesss!!! This episode was sooo old school soap giving beat after beat after beat leading up to the unveiling of Eva as Ted's daughter. And we still have plenty of fallout/aftereffects to work through.   Speaking of...Bill, Bill, Bill lol. Good to have confirmation HE was the scary lawyer.   I'm sure I will have a busy Monday, but I can't wait for it. I don't know what I'm looking forward to more. Probably Anita vs Silk Press Sheila tbh. And yes, I feel they will be matching each other 'blow for blow.'
    • And if they go there, it could also be tied to Johnny completely cutting him off, possibly going to work for Titan, etc.
    • @AbcNbc247 maybe it is just that they've gone to that well too often, and I don't like when DAYS goes dark, but I'm OK with EJ abusing drugs, and just skipping the whole sobriety part. Side note: experiencing hallucinations of my son killing me would be enough for me to never want to take a pill again.

    • Part of the reason that Courtney worked at OLTL was because the show had an actual character for her to play.  One that was somewhat different than her character on AW, and after the way she was treated over at AW.. it had to have been nice to be courted onto a new soap that actually valued your contributions.
    • I figured the "long" was already implied
