The evening hosts on MSNBC are giving Newt, Willard and the Republicans the blues. That party comes one step closer to destroying itself every single day. I really hope the moderates take back control after that party gets destroyed under a year from now. If we want working government again, I hope that happens?

The Tax-Dodging Owners Of Zuccotti Park Owe The City $139,000 In Back Taxes | It turns out that the owners of Zuccotti Park — the historic site of Occupy Wall Street — have been engaged in some of the very same tax-dodging that many of the protesters were enraged about. The “city Finance Department says park owner Brookfield Properties and its parent company, Brookfield US Corp., currently owe the city more than $139,000 in unpaid business taxes from 2006, 2007, 2008 and 2009.”

Casey008, thanks so much for your post. To listen to some folks here, the mainstream media (not counting FOX News) is dominated by conservatives.

Chris Matthews gave some rare praise to Romney today after he declined to attend Donald Trump's circus debate. The former Massachusetts governor also got an endorsement from Dan Quayle. While everybody realizes that this endorsement is worth diddly squat, at least Mr. Quayle had vastly superior qualifications to be VP than our current president had in 2008.

Chris basically bashed Obama a few weeks ago, as well as have a number of major DNC boosters. I still believe BAM will pull an LBJ and Hillary Clinton will be drafted. Obama is now polling lower than Carter and has not hit bottom yet. Only a strike on Iran can save Bam but this will piss off the anti-Israel left flank. People, today, want a centrist and Clinton can play that role long enough to win.

Saving ATWT, other people (myself included) have been suspecting this as well. While I think that the chances of Obama dropping out are less than 50%, it certainly is a possiblity; everything depends what the polls look like at the time of the Democratic Convention. If Obama looks much more vulnerable than he is today, the party establishment will put massive pressure on him to hand over all of his delegates to Hillary Clinton.

When LBJ dropped out in 1968, Democratic voters at least had other candidates to choose from; a sleazy, behind-the-scenes switcheroo at the convention is something that is totally up the Clinton's alley (and would rob ordinary Democrats from having a say in who their nominee would be). (Something similar to this scenario actually happened in 2002 in NJ: with the election about one month away, scandal-plagued Senator Robert Toricelli suddenly dropped his re-election bid and Democratic Party bosses replaced him with former Senator Frank Lautenberg.) Although Hillary herself cannot do much to promote such a scheme (since she is SOS), Bill has been pimping the Clinton brand (and trying to overshadow Obama) for quite some time, such as when he recently wrote a book concerning Clintonian solutions for today's economic problems. The sad truth of the matter is that if Obama does drop out, Hillary will win the general election in a cakewalk. (On the bright side, however, at least Hillary--despite her sleaziness and thurst for power--is competent, so people will feel that the economic situation isn't completely hoepless.)

    • French fan summary Rusty took over Simon's job at Lewis Trucking after Simon transferred to Lewis Oil's North Carolina office to live near Jessie and Calla. I doubt they would bother following up a story for offscreen characters eg marriage and a baby.
    • I suspected that the performance with the reveal was the reason why the Ted actor got the axe and it looks like I was right. He wasn't really good at conveying what needed to be conveyed in those scenes. Claybon is at least slowly improving (but I agree that he still needs to work on his line delivery), but I do wonder what will happen when his big reveal is coming up.
    • I've already asked this before, recently, but can anyone who watched those years more closely tell me if anything said about Jessie and Simon at the end of their profiles is accurate (about them marrying, naming a baby after Brandon/Lujack, etc.)?
    • Nicole is way too smart to not know she was carrying twins - she's a doctor! My guess is that Leslie did abort her baby out of fear, and as payback, stole Ted and Nicole's child (Eva), and stole Kat from another family to replace her in the hospital.
    • Those Soap Central profiles have a lot of incorrect info. According to SOD summaries and the Daytime Newsletter of the time,Tim left town for a new job and Pam reunited with the father of her baby and also departed Springfield. They did not marry.
    • Do we believe that Jabot is at the level of Estee Lauder?? I am on board with Jabot deciding to expand but the way it was handled was ridiculous. Jabot just decided and bingo, that was that. Not months of negotiations and decisions about how it would fit into the Jabot portfolio. And then no follow through. Josh thinks he's serving business stories by characters sitting around and discussing mergers, takeovers and job switching. Now we have Audra setting up her own company -Vibrator or something. Well, why not? You don't need staff, office space or even products.
    • He a dirty dog! Those are his kids and he hurt everyone. At this point he needed to just come clean. I can't believe I was lusting over this man! I hope they aren't quick to forgive.
    • The way I took it is that he did not want to confirm or deny anything until he talked to Nicole first. He was very calculated with the wording he used with Martin and Kat
    • I still see Alfonso Ribeiro as Carlton when Martin gets angry.
    • Not that I want to defend Y&R's writers, but it's not as absurd as you'd think and I believe they plucked it from reality (and then bungled it). The Estee Lauder Companies purchased Tom Ford's brand several years ago and I am willing to bet that's how Jabot came to buy Marchetti.
