Here are my choices Mike:

I'm trying to keep him in the same age range.

1) Chris Bruno (ex-AW; AMC)

2) Sean Kanan (ex-GH; B&B)

3) Tuc Watkins (OLTL) - he is often out of work and is only recurring with OLTL at the most

4) Timothy Adams (ex-SuB; OLTL; GL)

5) Matthew Crane (ex-AW)

6) Timothy Gibbs (ex-AW; OLTL)

7) Ted King (ex-The City; GH)

8) Ty Treadway (ex-OLTL)

I like all of them but really like Chris Bruno or Timothy Adams.

And as to the suggestion of Laurence Lau as Mike Horton. Oh man do I love that. He would be fantastic as Mike. Or even as his cousin David. David has so much story to tell and has been away from Salem for so long.

Quite the beefcake buffet there.

I was surprised when I got to looking at that age group of actors how many beefcakes there were in that range.

Even more surprising is that they are all decent-to-good actors, and there haven't been really any actors to replace them. There's a real dearth of hot, talented men under the age of 40 in daytime right now, and there used to be quite a few.

:o :o :o

Daniel is like the hunkiest hunk in all of hunkdom, and the actor that fills the role needs to meet a pretty high standard. Ty Treadway definitely, Timothy Adams of course, Chris Bruno positively. But Timothy Gibbs and Ted King??? Ted King couldn't even pass as Daniel's carbed out flabby first cousin. Timothy Gibbs has a weathered look to him. I think the guy on GH now as the cop, who was on on PORT CHARLES could fill Shawn C's shoes, and Ethan Erickson who was recently scene as substitute Patrick on GH could certainly play a surfing hunk doctor. LL is all wrong, as is TT. TT is too quirky to ever play a sexy leading man.

I'd pick Ty Treadway, solely for beefcake purposes  And because he doesn't look so "weathered" like the current Dr. Daniel. But regardless of that, I still have to agree with others who say the character isn't needed at all. Neither is Kate for that matter.
