A positive direction for AMC I think has been that is no longer relies on its "younger talent" to carry the show. Eden and Alexa, as talented as they are, shouldn't have been carrying the entire show in 2004.

Since McTavish was fired, the show seems to be more focused on shoring up mature, seasoned professionals to take over. We got Debbi, Darnell, and Vincent back, and the additions of Goldin, Ehlers, Braun, and Koffman are welcome.

You've got to wonder what's changed with Frons. Why, under McTavish, was the show so hellbent on becoming so youth-oriented? Why, starting with B&E, has there have been a push to showcase older actors? Think about this one: They essentially dumped pretty twentysomething Babe and brought back pushing-50-years-old David Hayward. What annoyed me about McTavish is that she'd bring on a whole bunch of new actors, connect them somehow to the older characters, and thought that since they had connections to the established characters they could take over the show. No.

I agree with that.

I agree 100%. Maybe Frons realized that middle aged woman watch the show, and we prefer to see someone closer to our own age. I hate when they get heavily focused on the youth on Soaps.

You're arguing a completely different point. I said there is a (rather large) void of young talent on AMC, you are arguing oversaturation of young performers. A lack of any kind of talent on a show can never be good. Regardless a great portion of AMC's talent has been depleted over the years leaving only a handful of scene stealers in thier wake.

I am a Zen fan, but not a hardcore one. I really despise when fan bases play that game. No couple's fan base should have that much power. In fact if anything, I am more annoyed with Zach. I don't doubt his love for Kendall, but I think what he has done with Bianca is betrayal.

I am a Zen fan, too and I dislike characters, not actors (and I think the other Zen fans I know have felt the same). I may want my couple together, but I do not ignore their flaws. Right now, Zach is SO out of line and a hypocrite- and so is Bianca!

I also think Jake made an impossible decision, but he admits that he made a mistake. He will pay for his actions like everyone else. I am waiting for Zach and Bianca to get theirs... I look forward to AM's return and hope Kendall gives them hell.

RE: Alexa as Babe

Pretty girl, she had talent, but her character was AWFUL. I think the show did a disservice by making her the plucky victim when viewers saw her commit HEINOUS crimes and never truly paid for them. And the smug entitlement didn't help (Alexa could have played it differently).

I am just happy the Babe Is Love era is over.
