Hunter's absence might also be because the Rick/Taylor story seems to have cooled for a while. We still little snippets of them, but usually with other peoples' stories. Since B&B seems to only juggle 1-2 stories at a time these days, it might be a while before they bring Rick and Taylor back to the front-burner.

But there's something weird about Eileen and Susan being MIA, since you'd expect to see some sign of them with what's on the canvas. With Eileen, you have to wonder where Ashley is now that there's a new Forrester regime in place. She seemed to share the Forrester siblings' anti-Donna sentiment and was never a Brooke fan, so wouldn't she at least speak her mind given that the only person in the executive suite she probably trusts is now Rick?

And the absence of Susan/Stephanie is especially glaring given that she should be right in the thick of the current power struggle. It's one thing for Steph to concede that she's pushed Eric away yet again to the point where he landed with Donna, but now her kids' lives are at stake, so I don't see her sitting back and not going against Donna on that. Maybe Susan Flannery wanted the time off for personal reasons again?

they should have written Stephanie out. Ann should have become ill with Stephanie going to take care of her. OR one of her kids could have surprised her with a cruise to lift her spirits up after the Donna/Eric wedding. I cant see Stephanie not being on screen with Eric in a coma

Yeah, they should have. But hopefully, Stephanie's absence won't be very long. I thought I remember reading about Brandon Beemer talking about filming scenes with Susan, so that might mean that her return to the canvas is not very far off.

    • I'm good with the gushing, too. There aren't many soap icons like John Black, and that's important to celebrate and remember. And yes, life does go on for other characters, but as they say, timing is everything. Going sky diving the day before the funeral? And during a week of shows that were so powerful emotionally? No.
    • No. There might have been a slight pause for dramatic effect after his "death," but pretty soon after they showed him in France getting plastic surgery and getting involved with his doctor, then planning with her to bring Christina to France. (She thought he had good reason to do it; she wasn't a bad person or anything). Now that I think of it, there must have been some kind of pause before that, during the 70s, because when Rita was accused of killing a patient when she lived in Texas, part of the backstory was that Roger had been there, too. Not sure exactly when or how long that was.
    • Thank you. She’s disgusting.
    • I've already stated that I don't like Doug being written as this meek and submissive. It was so lame watching him leave her like that. Vanessa can divorce him, but she then needs to get her thot ass into therapy. She's not only having sex with every guy she runs into, but is now having  sex with a skeevy perv on a poker table. I'm going to give the BTG some credit here. For months, many on this board were delighting in the Vanessa/Joey flirting and what they saw as chemistry. I think we're now seeing what the writers always intended -- that Joey is a disgusting POS wannabe mobster.
    • John Black actually was the ultimate good guy soap hero. So I don’t mind the town gushing over him. It’s deserved.
    • Be glad it wasn't a Perry production.

    • The whole town gushing over John Black as if he was a saint is eye rolling.  I guess death really colors people's memories over his many flaws, but I guess that is normal and human nature. I'm still confused as to why Leo hasn't been written out.  The actor stank up two soaps with his sub par acting, what does he have on TPTB's to remain on these soaps.   What's the point of Cat?  I hope the new head-writers figure out her purpose and develop her character. And I much prefer scenes not focusing on John's death because life does go on for the world when someone passes.
