I think I have 4 "It's not Bree's fault." I tend to think you guys must be right. I asked the question at another board where Bree is not considered love, and I was completely ignored. I think they might have swarmed if they could have pinned it on her. I think it's a combination. She's probably being directed to be over the top and campy, but I don't think that's her forte (thank gawd she stopped crying though). The end result is pure silliness. I really am disappointed in the story. The silliness depletes the drama. Was hoping for some high drama and character development. Hoping something about the characters would be revealed. Hoping Natalie and Jared might have a discussion about how she felt when she lost Cristian and later John. How those losses affected her. She and Jared seem to know the details about each other's histories through second hand sources. Jared read Natalie's biography and thinks he knows all there is. But he was surprised to learn that Alison was the one who told her about the Buchanan's. This was a missed opportunity (at least so far) to allow Jared and Natalie to have some of those conversations that would make their relationship deeper for the audience. Instead we hear them talking about forgiveness all the time and their solution is to become obsequious, bending entirely to Jessica's will.

I think Chuck acting like it was no big deal that drunk Bo showed up and didn't even bother ringing the doorbell might be my favorite part. The day players have really made a big difference on the show of late. While I wish people like Roxy and Miles and Layla were getting that much screentime. I have to say, the way these characters (Delphina, Noelle, Mo, Chuck) are being used really adds some interest to the show.

PC and RSW were awesome. My heart broke for Bo.

AIN'T THAT A QUESTION!

I like them both and think they could both offer a lot to the show. Knowing the climate of daytime, Haskell would be the keeper. She was a presenter at the Emmys, the one the network was showing off. Evans, unfortunately due to her age, would be the one to not keep.

Personally I think that's a shame. In a perfect world I'd keep both. And I myself could think of a million Tina stories to write, but I couldn't come up with that many Marty stories to write. The Cole/Starr baby will give lots of levels to play, so they could derive stuff from that. But if it were me writing and I could only keep one, I'd keep Tina. But I think ABC as it is now, would keep Marty.

    • Another example of the dysfunctional enmeshment that the Duprees labor under.   Dani freaking out about her father coming to visit as she's in bed with her boy toy totally screamed teenager instead of a grown ass woman that has two adult children.  The whole family needs to be in therapy including Nicole (who probably became a therapist because of the dysfunction within the family). @ranger1rgConsidering the fact that Chelsea has been controlled by a domineering Dani... I would be more surprised if Chelsea wasn't being extra and/or pushy.  She's spent more time being a model, having every move controlled by Dani, and being on social media as opposed to developing interpersonal relationships with her peers.
    • I agree. Every time she's on, it reads as "We're writing her in to fulfill her guarantee."
    • -- Hayley acted jealous when she walked in on Bill and Ashley. Really? I'm sorry, but they're writing Hayley as ridiculous. -- I'm not crazy about the way they're writing Bill's stroke and recovery/rehab. Doesn't feel like he went through much at all. -- So Shanice gets a promotion to physical therapist. Kind of laughable, but I'll take it to get more Shanice -- as long as her original personality remains intact. This is clearly a change from the original bible because the actress has been so good and popular. -- Chelsea is flat-out embarrassing in her thirst for Madison. In addition, I see no way Dr. Montgomery would be good with going live on Chelsea's IG. -- Why is Dani acting like she never ate at Orphey Gene's before? Are they serious with this? -- Good scenes with Anita, Tracy, and Sharon, and I appreciated Tracy's dialogue referring to "us 4 little colored girls." Nice nod to history. Then they wrecked it with another reference to "Articulettes Strong," which makes me cringe. -- Ever notice the staircase in the Dupree mansion's foyer? I can't get over how narrow those steps look.

    • I think Larkin was a very dashing and charismatic figure, but they started way too hot, made the character too unpleasant, and then pulled too far back with the tedious triangle. They also needed to get Reva away from the Lewises at that point rather than tying Kyle to them. They did this somewhat with the suicide attempt and working with Fletcher but not enough. I wonder what Pam Long's plans would have been for Cain. Jerry Lanning was always a mix of sinister and very cold to me, but she must have had some idea for him as she had also used him on Texas.
    • Chelsea is a stalker like her mother. She is annoying me big time.
    • As you point out,  Courtney seems to be the only logical person if the rumor was told to Zimmer and it's not just something she wrote to spice up the book. It could also be that Zimmer knew about the JC/JS relationship and just assumed that was the reason for her firing. It just reeks of Paul Rauch badmouthing Courtney though. I don't know why he and Lemay had it out for her. @DeeVee
    • Rebecca Budig sticks out like a sore thumb as Taylor. She has not added anything to the show or role of Taylor. A horrible recast.
    • I hope Dumb Dora loses custody of her kids. Kristina needs to go away. I can't believe she is still roaming around town.
    • I can see Kim thinking to herself---why would I be so emotionally invested in a guy who literally looks like he is the slasher in a slasher film?  I think they tried expanding Reva's reach and having her anchor this story, and it doesn't work. I don't think anyone could've really, as Cain is never a compelling figure. It is a hoot seeing a younger Victor Garber though. I'd speculate that Reva and Kyle were popular because the viewers didn't expect Josh back, and they wanted to see Reva happy. Otherwise, I don't get it. He's more controlling than generous. I watched a little of the actress that Long supposedly wanted for the role. She doesn't seem very good. In Texas, she seems to be very similar to Vanessa, and I can't imagine her projecting a more down to earth image.
    • I think this is where the show having an older audience comes in handy as that is who is buying these releases. And buying the books, presumably.  I have family who in the last few years have watched the show pretty much every day.
