Thanks for reading. I thought Jody was a female too until I saw an interview or a quote from the actor in one of these. No other soap ever had stories about janitors working their way up, did they? St. Elsewhere did this with Luther.

Did you notice they completely excluded Ann Williams? How odd.

This may have been material from late 1969, if Lakin was still there, but I don't know when the exact dates would be.

I didn't know a lot of these actors too. You probably already knew this but I didn't have any idea that the early stories centered around the chaplain and that other doctor. I wonder why they were written out.

I hadn't seen Nick Savian before either.

I can't find any info on these actors re The Doctors

Court Benson (he was married to Beverlee McKinsey in the 60's),Nick Savian,Greta Rae or Angus Duncan.

When the show was an anthology some interesting names pop up including Tina Louise,Jacquie Courtney,Dyan Cannon,Joel Crothers,Jessica Walter,Virginia Dwyer,Barbara Berjer,James Farentino,Patty McCormack,Doug Marland,Mona Bruns and Bonnie Bartlett and I'm sure that there were many more.

It's pretty crazy sometimes how you can find so little beyond Althea/Nick/Mike/Maggie/Carolee/Steve. You would think that's when the show began. I have some other dribs and drabs like a few names. They may already be known or in Schemering's book. I can't remember. Anyway I'll post them when I find them again.

After some sleuthing,i managed to locate a cast list from an old TV encylopedia, which may not be completely reliable.

Anyway, they have these actors listed for these roles

Court Benson-Willard

Greta Rae - Ginny

Luis Van Rooten - Simon Gross

Conrad Roberts - Ed Stark

This reference also lists Kathleen Murray as having played Maggie. She had played the title role in the 50's NBC soap 'Kitty Foyle' Could be a mistake or she might have been a temp.

I never got the opportunity to write something for Beverlee McKinsey or Michael Zaslow, but I really hope I will for Elizabeth Hubbard 'fore it's too late. She's among the last, remaining intelligent older actresses out there.

    • Hopefully they can expand some of the sets again. I watched some 04/05 episodes and forgot how much more grand the production used to feel. I wonder if YR will be staying put or going there or somewhere else as well.
    • DAYS posted the recipe! https://www.instagram.com/p/DKiMVZvuZje/ dayspeacock June 5, 2025 Tomorrow is National Donut Day! Here’s Alice Horton’s famous recipe! #NationalDonutDay #Donuts #Recipe #DOOL #Days #Daysofourlives #TBT Ingredients: 2 eggs 1 cup of sugar 1 cup of milk 5 tablespoons melted shortening 1-teaspoon vanilla extract 4 cups all-purpose flour, sifted before measuring 4 teaspoons baking powder ½ teaspoon salt 1 stick butter, melted Cinnamon Sugar In a large bowl, beat the eggs until foamy. Gradually add sugar, beating constantly. Stir in milk, shortening and vanilla. Sift together flour, baking powder and salt. Add to the wet ingredients, mixing well. Cover and chill the dough for 30 minutes to one hour for easier handling. Preheat the oven to 450 degrees. Spray baking sheet with vegetable cooking spray. Roll out or pat the dough on a lightly floured board to a half inch thickness. Cut with a doughnut cutter. Place the doughnuts and holes on the baking sheet, one inch apart. Bake for 10 – 15 minutes or until golden brown. Brush each doughnut and doughnut holes with melted butter and roll in Cinnamon Sugar to coat all sides. Makes about 36 doughnuts. Cinnamon Sugar: 1 cup of sugar 1 teaspoon of cinnamon In a small bowl, combine the sugar and cinnamon, blending well.
    • "Jordan and Robert have the best brother chemistry. " They certainly did!  And that chemistry worked no matter who served as the protagonist in a given scene or story.  A shame that a full-blown story was never developed for those two.  Wouldn't have needed to be adversarial, either.  Maybe a serious, unexpected, long-term outside threat, business or personal, to one of the brothers with the other coming to his aid.

I was able to find most of them. I am not sure if you did 1974-1977 but I did not find it in the 70s thread. This is an amazing resource for EVERY soap.  1973 https://boards.soapoperanetwork.com/topic/41800-ratings-from-the-70s/page/78/#comments 1973 more research https://boards.soapoperanetwork.com/topic/41800-ratings-from-the-70s/page/80/#comments 1973 Update https://boards.soapoperanetwork.com/topic/41800-ratings-from-the-70s/page/82/#comments 1978 https://boards.soapoperanetwork.com/topic/50145-ratings-from-the-80s/page/135/#comments 1979-1988 https://boards.soapoperanetwork.com/topic/50145-ratings-from-the-80s/page/115/#comments 1989  https://boards.soapoperanetwork.com/topic/50145-ratings-from-the-80s/page/122/#comment-1876530 1990-1999  https://boards.soapoperanetwork.com/topic/58300-ratings-from-the-90s/page/11/#comments 2000-2004  https://boards.soapoperanetwork.com/topic/58300-ratings-from-the-90s/page/58/#comments
    • Mrs. H used the donuts to distract from the expensive jewels that she hid in the walls of her kitchen.  Now, it all makes sense...

I thought a smart cookie like Caroline Brady would've had the chance to hide a bauble of her own from her dalliance with Victor.
