LOL! You sound like me. I caught a few scenes Sunday on SoapNet and I was "What the ...?" There was Nikki and some guy that looked like Nick/LuJack (GL) talking about some gambling problem. I guess GoatDaddy Victor just married some girl about a fraction of his septuagenarian age I didn't recognize. There was the guy that's playing Victor and Hope's SORASed son with some other chick I didn't recognize, but apparently Victor doesn't like her. When did Kevin and (is it Jenna?) become close with the Newmans? It appeared that Neil has reverted back to being Victor's lapdog (at least from the little bit I seen from this episode). I see that Nick and Phyllis are still an item and Victoothia must have moved on from Brad and the reliquaryzzzz and onto Jeffrey Todd Hellstrum. I also saw Ashley who needs to get her butt back to B&B where I have been enjoying her. Surprisingly, there weren't any scenes of the Skin Cream Killer anywhere in sight. LOL!

Sorry in advance for shouting, but CAN SOMEONE EXPLAIN THE BLOODY PROGRAMMING CONCEPT OF THIS DRECK TO ME?????? Let me say, relevant to this thread title, I am not so much bored but ANGRY and confused.

Two weeks ago, Katie Perry was on. Very modern...so modern that on the show Jack Abbott has said that with her on the cover of Restless Style, "no woman over 40 will buy the magazine".

Okay--so they're going for the young demo. I understand that.

Now, today, the fossilized, stretched relic of creature that was once Little Richard appeared. Clearly nearing dementia, he could not stand (he was seated at a piano the whole time), could barely move, and he needed everything--INCLUDING his song lyrics--on cue cards. He read these idiot cards relentlessly during his torturous scenes.

Now what demographic is being sought here? The septagenarian gay demo?

I fail to see how this all connects? What is the GOAL of all this stunt casting?

I am Gloria Abbott/Judith Chapman's biggest defender. But the over-acting, the mugging, the BAD SITCOM that was today's US episode has brought me as close to revulsion as I have EVER been with this show.

But never mind the bad scenes with Gloria and Little Richard. I simply do not see what decision-making-by-committee has felt that these disparate elements could somehow be thrown together to make a show. Because they don't.

    • Cady McClain said the same thing with her hairdos - she switched it up so much because she was either unhappy or bored.  Kim must have been unhappy in 1996 because she has so many different short styles, it's wild (haha).
    • She definitely was trying new things with her hair and makeup in the 1986 scenes I saw so it tracks. Rauch wouldn't have been there, but it just strikes me as a conversation Rauch would have had with her with when he was at GL. Rauch loved to badmouth JC. So she put it in the book as if she had been told at the time. It's like how she has Michelle Forbes on GL years before she actually arrives or Ellen Wheeler firing people who had been fired yrs. before by Rauch or Conboy.
    •   From what actors have said, Y&R has been very busy taping the upcoming storyline
    • Well, a good number of sets were up when I was there, but there was a limited number of people around. Even Y&R seemed dead, but maybe everyone was out for lunch at the time? I remember driving from the parking lot and preparing to enter the roadway when I saw Michelle Stafford and Christian LeBlanc returning from what I think was their lunch break. Not sure where they went or were coming from.
    • A scene I cannot wait to see. Julie Harris as Liliemae is the gift that keeps on giving; she's not outright evil, but frustrating, and in her own way, still pretty lovable.
    • Kim used to say that you can tell when she was unhappy because she would try weird or new things with her hair.  I don't think Rauch was at OLTL at the time Zimmer was but their producer at the time probably wasn't much of a peach either.
    • I wonder if less set use was preparing for the move. They probably were preparing for this for awhile now
    • The early part of the season is decent. After that, Season 9 is one of the worst seasons until season 13. Season 10 is a little worse.    That would have made sense, even if it cost us one of my favorite scenes (Ben putting Lilliemae in a headlock). That's an excellent storyline and leads to the show's last strong season finale.
    • The TVC Studio 31 that they used for 38 years was only about 13,730 sq ft., according to the TVC website specs: https://televisioncityla.com/stages-offices/ Sunset Las Palmas Studios has 11 sound stages, which go up to 20,000 sq ft., though we're yet to learn which of those sound stages will house B&B. Depending on which one, the specs for it can be found here: https://www.sunsetstudios.com/los-angeles/las-palmas-studios/ Sound Stages 4, 5 and 9 are available for use starting September 1, 2025. It's unclear if either of those stages would be used by B&B since they begin production there starting Tuesday, August 19, 2025, which would be before the date shown on the website, but we shall see. Of those three sound stages, only Sound Stage 4 and 5 make sense since they are larger than the specs the show had at TVC, while 9 is quite smaller.  Sound Stage 4 would be the best option overall for B&B since it has 18,819 sq ft., the largest individual sound stage at the lot - Stage 3 and Stage 8 share space, which combined makes the space 19,900 sq ft. --- Forgot to add, unless there was an issue with storing the sets, the changes at TVC should have had no issue with production on the show, resulting in fewer set use as there has been no movement in terms of construction that would impact either show (B&B/Y&R). Of the 2-3 times I've been at the studio, the most recent for Don Diamont's 40 years at CBS, it was the most dead I had ever seen the space, but that could be due to vacations, holidays, or the preparation of the B&B move.
    • I didn't post about it in the BtG thread as I still don't watch the show (an hour runtime is just too much for me right now with a new soap I can't just mostly skip through) but I can't imagine the ego of someone who is hired as a breakdown writer and decides to [!@#$%^&*] their own name all over the show. Classless beyond belief. Any writer who cares more about masturbatory behavior than quality of work should not be hired.
