May 23, 200817 yr Member Uhm actually B&E said when they first started on the show that they had met with Agnes, so I don't see how that's a "phantom rumor" Ummmmmm, actually... Do you guys think maybe Agnes was working on the wedding?? Totally! I even think she suggested the Greg Nelson return. When Agnes was head writing, she always sent characters to Seattle. And when Greg said he had been teaching history in Seattle, I just knew she was the one that wrote that. A question was asked, and someone's non-factual opinion was given as if it were the truth... thereby making it a rumor. And, ummmmm, actually... there's a difference between meeting the creator of the show and having her write the show. Nowhere has it been shown that B&E said that not only did they meet with Agnes, but are having her write portions of the show -- which is, ummmmm, actually... what THEY were hired to do. Why people think this 80 year old legend isn't enjoying retirement and is still getting caught up in day to day aspects of this show is beyond me.
May 23, 200817 yr Member TVG: Have you talked to AMC’s creator Agnes Nixon for her blessing and input?JHB: Yes. We talked to Agnes for sure; we worked with her on Loving. She’s astonishing. BE: She’s lovely! When she’s at a writer’s meeting she’s very quiet, but then unexpectedly, she’ll come up with a story gem that just wows all of us. She’s been very supportive even when we don’t agree, but she’s invaluable. She is Erica Kane. That's from their TVG Canada interview from August. Maybe she's not writing, but sure looks like she is giving her input on things........

That is why I think the past couple of good months on the show are largely over her influence. Hopefully she influences Pratt Jr. so we can get through him with some good storytelling over her ideas and concepts.

May 23, 200817 yr Member Well Agnes has nothing in common with hack writers like B&E and she was able to work through their sh1t to give us some good months...Pratt is a hack himself so she can do the same with him Edited May 23, 200817 yr by DevotedToAMC
May 24, 200817 yr Administrator OMG That was one of the best weddings ever! I've never seen a wedding like this before - how Jesse/Angie got married in a circle. And Neyo singing as Angie entered! The wedding vows! I couldn't stop smiling and I had this funny feeling in my heart which I never got before when watching a wedding. It was so beautiful and moving. Major props to the writing staff. AMC has been really good lately!

May 24, 200817 yr Administrator So tell us Toups, who REALLY wrote this episode?!?!?!?! I don't know. Maybe Rain1 knows? Joanna Cohan wrote the dialogue (she gained a fan in me today), so it was probably B&E, Amanda Beall or Addie Walsh who wrote the breakdown/layout or whatever they're calliing now. Everyone did a great job though. The writing, the acting, the directing, the production. Just awesome stuff. It's a keeper episode for sure.

People scoffed and mocked and PM'd me all kinds of insults because I saw incredible potential in Joanna Cohen's scripts early on back in 2007 and supported her work... so you can imagine the self-righteous grin on my face when I saw her name credited and wound up enjoying every last minute (even shed a tear, which I rarely do) of this episode. She gets it.
