You keep brilliantly illustrating the lazy writing of this show. It would take some time and energy to write a cohesive and consistent story and having the miscarriage be much more than a blip would detract from the world of Sonny.

I never really thought about it until now but what does Sonny deal in anyway? Besides the coffee. He periodically reiterates his "no drugs" policy so what is in the "shipment?"

The reaction to Monica's drunk driving is fine but when it's contrast against the mob then it does make Diane's statement ludicrous. I guess people aren't supposed to be thinking when they watch this show since they're not big on making sense.

I watched two segments of today's episode and opted out because I didn't feel like a Sonny overload today. The more I listen to him say whatever it is he's saying to Kate, the worse they seem together. I think they probably lost me when she told Jax that Sonny was basically a dog when they were teens but she overlooked it. If that's the case, then romanticizing their childhood went out the window. In fact, the whole true love from the past doesn't even register with me.

What does Claudia want Jason to use to kill Trevor since he seems to possibly have a problem with his hands? I know they need to come up with reasons for the two of them to be in scenes together--oh but what am I even thinking?

If Jason and Carly are soulmates what kind are they? I don't see the romantic aspect and I don't see the in sync type of friendship either. Their relationship to me has generally been written to be about his getting her out of messes and her adamantly declaring that she knows what he wants. I've never seen a scene with him and any of the many incarnations of Carly where they've had an enlightening exchange that illustrated that she really knows or gets him. Robin and he are more soulmates than he and Carly. Robin at least listened to him and for the most part, didn't inflict her wishes or will on him (I don't even think wanting him to be honest with AJ counts as not understanding). And even though Elizabeth doesn't embrace his career choice, she still seems to understand him better. Carly is right about Elizabeth being selfish but if that's a bad fault to her then she needs to work on herself.

Oh and another jab at the writing: how was she too busy with Jax and the baby to notice Michael? Wasn't she more busy getting into Jason's business than she was with her own family?

I thought she was too busy with Jax and her baby. Carly's main focus for the past several weeks was about getting pregnant. She spent more time self absorbed with herself and her husband and didnt notice what was going on with Michael.

really? i couldnt disagree more.

Ingo, Megan, Jane, Tony, Steve, Tyler, Kim, Jason, Kirsten, Brad, Laura, Ric and just about everyone else has been amazing recently.

Even Julie Berman who phones it in all the time for the last year has started to act again.

and Sarah Brown has a minor role? really?

Both Ingo and Megan look exhausted and unmotivated. So I can't really see the "great" acting their doing. Ingo looked minorly interested in his scenes where he was screaming at Sonny but really nothing notable or must watch television. Jane and Tony don't do anything and are on for maybe two or so minor scenes for comic relief.

Steve is one of the worst examples of "acting" on this show.

Who's Kim? Sarah does have a minor role by comparison to the big four: Wright, Bernard, Burton and Herbst.

I will say that Jason Thomphson looks invested in his scene and seems to enjoy his storyline of being a reluctant father. The younger set always manage to make magic out of their work that includes Brad, Kirsten, Bergman, Barash, ect. I am talking about the principal "veteran actors" that make this show go round.

IA with you on the self absorbed but Jax has never seemed like a priority to me. The pregnancy came in between her meddling in Jason's life and being concerned about Kate taking attention away from her. Anyway, she has a nanny raising her children and she's never been written to focus much on Michael so this writing is just an attempt to try to make her seem like a suddenly devoted wife who has trouble balancing the kids and the husband when that hasn't been the case all along.

    • What do you mean?  Sarah told Xander about the drug as soon as she found out about it, and before eating the scone.   She also told Xander not to buy the hospital in March because the impending lawsuits from the sabotaged set of Body & Soul would eventually lower the price of the hospital.  In fact, she called it a money pit at the time, and now she and her daughter stand to make a fortune. Just as, she knew that Philip's claim to the fortune were both fraudulent, and a good distraction to keep Xander from making a bid until the time was right... Even more proof that Dr. Sarah Horton-Kirakis is the true evil genius of Salem.
    • Now what was I just talking about? lol. I was not expecting to see Jacob today.    VERNON!!!!!!! LOL.
    • No Tea. No Shade. Just facts. Oooo...Kat vs Eva...the gift that keeps on giving.   I can't believe we are getting friction between Andre and Nicole. That said...loving these scenes.
    • LOL!!! We have no reason to think they are not hygienic!!!
    • Annnnd it's time!!!   Oooo more developing of the Anita story.   Bill and these hand moments.   OOOOOOOOO...it's a Jazmen episode!!!   So Nicole is hitting the anger part of her grief, I see.    Hehe. TIDE sighting!!
    • -- Kai spends more time in the hospital than anyone I know. I've never seen a patient held back from being discharged like this guy. -- All this concern over Lulu's adoption story is wild. Just what in the hell in that story will upset people? Am I missing something?
    • Except she was the last to know yesterday
    • While I'm waiting for the new episode to start...let's talk about yesterday's episode.   I honestly really loved it. THIS is what I mean when I talk about how there should be an A story that is dealing with its fallout while the next A story is being built. And then there was even a C plot going on.    The fallout from the Silk Press Sheila/Eva reveal continued. And there were so many elements in play. Beats were being played. And I loved every moment of it. Ted/Eva defiantly going to the country club and being more successful at it than Bill&Hayley. I love that Ted is willing to fight for his marriage. I really want to see where it goes. I didn't like the town gossip, cuz we already have one in Nosy Nurse, but she did keep the tension up. The Nicole/Dani dynamic as sisters being in play...and I'll be in the minority and say that while Dani was Dani, I didn't find her being self-absorbed at all in those scenes. She has already been established as being willing to go there. For herself. AND her sister. So her going in on Ted and Eva was like her. Her dragging her sister out of the house was also like her. No problems. And I can't say how much I loved Jan getting her moment with Silk Press Sheila. Not to mention how much I LOOOOOOVE the showdown between SilkPress and Eva at Orpheny Gene in front of everybody!!!! Giving old school soap. And SilkPress's warning she got more up her sleeve (with a snap) was delicious. And awww at Martin comforting Eva. Kat ain't going to like that.   Speaking of Martin...IT'S HAPPPPENIIIIINGGGGGG!!! Now we are getting words from the night in question. So good to see them FINALLY building out that OTHER A story they started. And good on Martin for backing out from the presidency. I already said I love that the writers found a plausible reason for him to back out. The plot point served its purpose...to get a sense of Martin's personality. Now that he's been built up so we know what to expect from him, no need for it. Moreso since SilkPress's presence will continue to trigger that secret right out of him. Fingers crossed.   And while all that goodness was going on...we got a B plot in the form of Doug/Joey/Vanessa. I like it. It's been allowed to grow. All POVs have been seen except for Joey's really. So seeing him put Doug on the hook officially (so this should be climaxing by end of May then since Doug has one week?) because he wants Doug to move money through Vanessa's business. I continue to wonder where it will go now that I know (and apparently missed it) what Joey's endgame is. I mean...will Doug do it? Will Joey get payback on Vanessa? Or will Vanessa fall into Joey's bed? I feel the show has done a good job developing Doug and Vanessa enough that I am invested in the story. Sidenote...ask and I shall receive aka Dani/Vanessa brief moment at the country club. I really miss them together.    As for the C plot...well...I'm in the minority as well. I actually liked the Ashley/Derek scenes. Not cuz the typical soap himbo scenes...lol...but it was just a nice counterpoint from the other stories going on. And it was just nice to have an episode with A, B, and C stories going on and NOT be jarring and ALSO no quick cuts to another scene. It FLOWED. I actually like Ashley and while her last appearances in solo Derek scenes were DOA, I felt there was more going on. At least this time. It was building on what was already growing...Ashley's annoyance at Derek moving in. Derek...being a typical guy. I am hoping that will go somewhere. And I love that we got another Jan/Ashley scene. At the moment, it's the only thing giving us a clue to Ashley's inner life. That said...I really do want to see her out of her story bubble. There's so much potential with her and her career as a nurse. Moreso given what's going on there.    As for the mysterious stranger...well...I wonder how they are going to play it. Since most of us (but not all so not discussing it farther) know a bit about him.    As for the coda...it is bittersweet now knowing it was Maurice's last scenes. I mean...what do you all think? A nice point for him to stop? We got to see Eva accepting by the father she always wanted to be with since Day 1. Nicole looks on. Quite soapy.
    • I love the thought of Eva becoming this huge celebrity hairstylist, and the future character crossover that can happen with fun cameos, too.
