So says the latest SOD with Bo/Hope on the cover.

Catherine Mary Stewart, who originated the role of Kayla Brady, will play a woman who Marcie interacts with. Stewart's character will praise Marcie's mothering skills. (CMS is only described as "Mother" for character name, so the role must be more of a cameo. But it made Comings and Goings.)

I thought she had quit acting. I guess not!

FYI, Catherine's last soap appearance was in 2001 on GL. She played Naomi, a friend of Lorelai Hills, Beth's alternate identity.

What was she like as Kayla? Was she fully formed and unique, or was she too new to really have a personality yet? (Kayla, not CMS.)

If I recall, CMS portrayed Kayla from 1983 or so until 1985 and was involved/engaged to Josh Taylor's Chris Kosichek [ironic, considering Josh Taylor plays Kayla's brother, Roman, now!].

I loved what I've seen of her as Kayla. She was spunky but still sweet, and she was the perfect kind of actress for that part.

I never saw her on Days but I knew I'd seen her somewhere, so I looked her up on IMDB. She was Maggie in "The Last Starfighter!"
