Todays show (Tuesday)

Once again Bravo to RC and his writing staff for continued interconnected storylines involving family ties and secrets!!

Addie/Todd/Blair with Addie being allowed to be the over protective mother ramming Todd up against the door, HILLARIOUS!!

The teens were actually entertaining with Langston and Cole planning the party and Starr wondering if Cole is cheating

Enjoyed Rex and Natalie's bro/sis chat in the diner comparing one anothers bad day simultaneously. Then they decide to go over to Roxy's palce where little do they know Gigi is!! "Morasco------------------------Balsom"!

Pardon me for my FRENCH but I Fuc#k!ng love this soapiness!! :)

Oh C'MON you know you all watched todays show :) If you didn't you missed out on some good sh!t.

Where to begin,

Bo/Nora finally hashing it out. I did not know all of their past but oh boy I got caught up quick as they layed it all OUT! BUT what was Nora holding back on?? It seems she withheld a secret from BO before she left his office, anyone have an idea what she was not telling him? I want to know.

Rex and Gigi run in was also a highlight as they quipped back & forth about their highschool years and Rex' gangly teen years. Gigi cracks me up, I cannot wait to see her and Roxy mix it up!

Shane is a cute kid, LMAO @ Roxy, "is Johnny your long lost daddy?" HA, if you only knew Roxy :P

Another good mother to daughter talk with Blair and Starr while her BF Cole was holding langston's hand :o

Yesterday's show was a goody.

It's official. Addie Cramer is like no other character on a soap right now! I loved her talking to Todd. The people of Llanview under estimate her so much, however I think she's pretty brilliant. Loving her new outlook on life.

The teens were interesting. I've stated this before, but if Cole was played by a different actor I would be liking the character right now. The writing is there; not too sure about the actor. The way they are dealing with both Langston and Cole mourning is so realistic. I love the story surrounding Starr's birthday.

Love Rex and Natalie's bond. I can soooo see their two stories interwining down the road, and it's due to RC great knack at plotting.

Now excuse me while I go live in denial about the strike; because I just don't want to imagine OLTL not being written by RC at the moment. I'm enjoying every second of the WGA covered episodes.

Oh yeah I wasn't too familiar with Nora and Bo's past, but I was very much into their scenes and enjoyed them so much.

I LOVED Roxy hanging out with Shane today. I think she would make a great grandmother . Can't believe I said that.

LMAO...Rex broke Wally.

Yes good scenes between Blair and Starr. Starr is struggling not to go over to the dark side.

I'm interested in where the show takes this story with Gigi/John/Todd/Ramsey.

Tomorrow looks good. I'm glad we get to see Talia and Antonio. They are beyond cute.

Loved the Blair and Starr scenes. Those scenes showed that Blair loves daughter.

Those scenes with Roxy and Shane where a hoot. Gotta love IK.

Those Gigi and Rex scenes where cute.

I gotta say that both RSW and HBS brought it today. Those Bo and Nora scene where intense.

Thursday = good, but could have done without John. I hate that he has to always save all in Llanview

Antonio and Talia were nasty all in the street but in a sexy fun way.

Rex and Roxy have a great mother/son relationship. Now Rex will know how it feels to have secrets kept from him.

Shane apologizing to John for eating his ketchup was hillarious, poor boy was hungry

Tommy crying was sad, it was the first time I ever seen that child cry but charlie did a good job with him, that was cute.

Tomorrow (Friday) we get Viki/Charlie run in at Dorians La Boulet, that ought to be a blast and oh oh Allison is back!!!!!!

Gordon, I could not agree more! I marvel at how RC keeps slowly weaving more and more characters into one big storyline! When the secrets and lies all come out, it will be like a big domino effect!

How clever is it to weave Rex and Roxy into a major story that already involves Dorian, Viki, Charlie, Jared and the rest of the Buchanan family? And I believe that Nat and Jess are going to be pulled in via that old fave, Allison Perkins. Brilliant. Even less important characters like Miles and Addie effectively dip in and out of the big picture.

The only real misfires I see are how characters like Chris, Antonio, Talia, and Sarah are kind of off in their own little universe. Sarah should definately be interacting with her family. How 'bout a scene with her Aunt Viki? That's a connection that has been totally overlooked.

Other than these points, OLTL is in formidable shape!

Word!!! And I bet this is all going to lead up to a huge event (the Go Red Ball) with secrets being revealed. *This* is how you write good soap opera. You don't need VIOLENCE *cough GUZA cough*.....just good ole fashion secrets and interconnected storylines involving a ton of characters.

It's taken me a while to jump on the Carlivati bandwagon (unlike a certain soap "journalist" who had an instant hard on after week 2) but now I can say with confidence that I am on RC's bandwagon. :)

 Haha Toups it's about time!

Friday's episode....

It seems to me that RC is trying to flesh out the character of Roxy, something that hasn't been done since the days of Broderick and Whitsell. The woman is clearly concerned about Rex knowing his real father. Makes one wonder just how bad Rex's real father was.

Here's one scene that I must have overlooked....didn't know Jared and hismom were abused, was it by a stepfather or something?

Aw I love the bond that Bo and Rex have formed.

 @ Addie crashing in on Viki and her family in the kitchen wearing a chef's suit.

:o: Viki and Charlie have finally come face to face!!! :P

I loved all stuff Buchanan today. Dorian has Jared's numba!

Now that is what you call a CLIFFHANGER FRIDAY!

So many setups for Monday:

Viki at Dorian's doorstep but Charlie opened the door :o

Adriana at John's door but Gigi opens the door

Dorian blackmailing Jared :D

Allison and Mitch' secret.

LET THE GALA BEGIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Lines of the day:

Nora & Clint

"Shut up Dorian!"

Jessica: "You are a loon"

Allison: "or am I crazy like a fox"

Roxy to Charlie: "my son needs a father and you are it"

Dorian referring to Asa: "The old cowboy in his continental suit is probably turning in his grave"

    • One of the dumbest situations (Lando) ever. What audience member is going to invest in a storyline with a recast they don't like and a triangle where one character is short-term? It bombed as it should have done. So much of JFP's tenure just reeks of desperation. I don't get how someone could produce SB (which did have flaws but was often brilliant) but make so many terrible mistakes at GL.   I still think JFP would have worked better as a director and music supervisor. Her music work at SB was top notch.  It just seems that Rea was minimized during JFP's tenure because I can't imagine her okaying so many of these casting choices.

    • We see the same with GH, where Mark Teschner, the casting director, reportedly has less say since Frank Valentini took over. Some producers want to take over every aspect of their shows.  I think Lando may have been a CBS push.
    • No idea but she won Emmys & she was the Casting Director at the same time for both ATWT & GL. She hired Lisa Brown with no job for her. Then Marland made Brown his muse so he created both Iva & Nola for her. But, I think we know that Jill does what Jill wants.
    • I did notice a decline in the quality of the performers being cast once Betty R vacated/retired from her position. We would have been spared from the nightmares of some of the castings that dominated the show in the last decade or so of the soap. JFP was an example of someone, no matter the gender, who had no business being in the position they were in.
    • If Betty Rea was the casting director, why was so much of GL during JFP's reign cast by her? Walker, Deas, Crampton, Lando, etc. JFP takes credit for Dusay as well. What is the point of having a casting director, if you don't let her do her job? What happened when Rea left?
    • So much on here slips my mind but this is the first I remember hearing of Peterson's passing. Very sad. Nell was a thankless role, clearly set up for a cheating storyline with Frank, but Peterson did her best.  Betty Rea Rea was the casting director for the soap opera “Guiding Light” from 1970 to 1996 and simultaneously the casting director for “As the World Turns” from 1979 to 1983.
    • Sorry, just one more post on the Thorntons. How did Ruth and Edna feel about each other prior to Tad dating Dotty?
    • I can't remember exactly but I think it may be 1995 as Jake was trying to hide from a loan shark.
