I am half German (dad's side) and half Polish (mom's side)

I am half Polish decent. My mother parents were born in Poland. I am half Austrian. My father's parents were born in Austria.

I wish that they would have taught me to speak Polish and German!

German on both sides, but my grandmother on my mom's side has lineage back to France.

My mom is adopted, so that side is a big UNKNOWN. She is a blue-eyed blond, so I suspect she is of northern or central European ancestry. My father's side is all Ashkenazi Jewish; one great-grandmother came from Austria, one great-grandfather came from Prussia. The other great-grandparents were born in the USA of immigrant parents; my great-great grandparents came from Poland and Germany.

3/4 Finnish and the last 1/4 is English, French and German.

My paternal grandmother's father's parents immigrated to the U.S. from Ireland in 1861.

Otherwise, I'm trying to trace the true origin of the Gore name....I've heard conflicted reports that it's either German, Scottish, or English.
