January 11, 200818 yr Member That's funny. Casey Childs is AMC's worst director, but I guess he can step it up.... on occasion. Angela Tessinari is definitely the best director AMC has. Edited January 11, 200818 yr by Pine Charles
January 11, 200818 yr Member Yup that was the one. The only thing I liked about it was the general plot. It was different, but fun. It was different...I'll give you that. The only satisfaction I got out of that episode was seeing Alan act in character for once and treat Beth like his daughter instead of some woman that he has some sick and twisted obsession for. Well that and I saw some sparks betweenn Beth Chamberlain and John Driscoll
January 11, 200818 yr Member Ohhhhhhhh - that AMC episode was GOOD. That episode made me cry! The main reason was the scene where Kendall and Spike are wheeled past each other, each on their way to surgery. Talk about amazing drama - and raw emotion! Between the directing of that scene and Kendall's scream - I was in TEARS. AMC totally deserves a nomination. It was very well directed. Oh hell yeah, the scene with Kendall seeing Spike gives me CHILLS! Melissa Egan said that was one of her favorite scenes. It makes me cry everytime I watch it
January 11, 200818 yr Member As The World Turns - Episode #12971 - March 9, 2007Gwen and Maddie are almost caught by Jade... CRAP! ATWT was a directorial snooze in '07 except for Jack and Carly's beautifully shot Montana trip (and the freakin' GORGEOUS shot of them in a greenery-covered lake) and the doll house fantasy. January 11, 200818 yr Member I think Casey Childs is great. Of course, I'm not a fan of his "camera tricks" that he does every so often (they worked wonderfully when he did them on The City, but this ain't The City as he likes to forget) but when he's sticking to his conventional guns, I think he is very good. I think that Conal O'Brien is the best AMC director, although Angela Tessinari comes a close second. This is a pretty good list of nominees, although my least favorite is Ellen Wheeler.
