Members David_Vickers
McCain picking CondiLiar Rice will be a great thing. Shows how idiotic a decisio maker he is and that he's just as evil ans W, Cheney and CondiLiar, if not more so, as that Top 10 List of things about him make clear. WHAT-EVAH. Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama will be the ticket as either Clinton/Obama or Obama/Clinton. THat's the best for the Democratic party and for the country. They will make an awesome team. I'm so sick of the in-fighting of some Clinton and Obama supporters. They need to stop it. I have. I've already reserached Obama quite a bit and do like him again and will have absolutely no problem voting for him in November as President. He will make a great President, as would Hillary Clinton. My pick of the two is Hillary, but I like and respect both very much and if either come closer to my area I will go and see them. Hillary came pretty close in Madisonville, but I had something already previously planned and didn't go and regret it, so hoping she comes somewhere around closer in the coming weeks (same thing goes for Obama). Mark Penn is NO LONGER working on Hillary Rodham Clinton's campaign. He HAS been fired. Geraladine Ferraro is NOT a racist, but Jeremiah Wright sure in the hell IS! Members Roman
1. Mark Penn is still an advisor. What do YOU call that? 2. GF IS a racist. YOU may not think so, but I do. 3. As Far as your very dismissive What-ever.........that is the very same thing voters say whenever the next lie comes out of Hillary's mouth. Members Roman
From The Huffington Post: Because of these unfortunate problems confronting Clinton, she decided to get rid of Penn. Kind of. He's now just "one among many" top advisors to her campaign, and no longer has veto power over the message. In clear terms he wasn't fired, he was demoted. Members DevotedToAMC
Roman you know better than to generalize every single Hillary supporter out there. When she lied about the Bosnia thing, I did not say "whatever"
Members Roman
1. I wasn't talking to you. I was talking to Mulder. 2. There have been times you have genarlized Obama supporters, and that is one of the reasons why I posted this. Maybe that will stop on both ends. 3. It's about time you finally admitted taht she lied about that Bosnia thing. The one thing she is doing that she should have done 2 months ago is to humanize herself. That could work for her in spades. But..........I don't know. It may be too late. I hope not, becuase if she doesn't come out on top, she could still run again. Members Roman
What lies am I spreading? I just posted where I got the post from. You can go there yourself Mulder.
Members David_Vickers
GERALDINE FARRARO is NO racist. Sorry but that's a fact. What she said was wrongly said, but that does NOT make her a racist. Hillary Clinton is NOT a liar, and I'm so sick of you saying that she is just because you feel she lied about the Bosnia thing. She may very well have lied but she may have very well just mis-spoke. People do some weird things when they're exhausted and/or stress.. I have myself. It's time you do some research on Hillary Clinton's site and learn the real Hillary not the one you and other Hillary haters and Barack Obama fanatics make up. You Barack fanatics (and that's not all Barack supporters, just a select few) are taking this too far. I have in the past but like I've said I've researched Barack Obama and now do like him again and will vote for him IF he is the candidate in November. I was stupid for saying that I wouldn't just because he wasn't Hillary and because of my ignorance of the man and believing media reports and Hillary fanatics about things that have gone on about Michelle Obama and Jeremiah Wright to name a couple incidents. I do apologize to you Roman for my prior fanatic postings about Hillary and will even apologize if this post pisses you off too. But you need to examine your attitude too. What you accuse others of, you are dong yourself as well as I and others have. We need to combine our energies to defeat the real enemies---John McCain and CondiLiar Rice, not members of our own party. I will bet that Barack Obama & Hillary Clinton will be the Democratic ticket, and I'm tending to believe more now that it'll be Obama/ Clinton and I'll wholeheartedly support and campaign for that ticket and if and when it does happen I'll change my banner. Members David_Vickers
ANd Roman thanks for the clarification. I was wrong and apologize to you. I had heard from another source, my local news, that Penn was out. Obviously they only played part of the ABC news story about it. Sorry.
Members Ryan
You all need to respect one another's opinions. We all feel strongly either for or against a Candidate. That doesn't give us the right to be rude to other posters or accusing them of spreading lies (one man's lies is another's truth). This thread is one of the longest running political threads that I can remember at SON, and that's because people are posting on a mature level. Let's keep that going. Reporting posts because things are getting heated does no one any favors, and makes me (and others) more inclined to close the thread.
Members Roman
Mulder, question. If GF had said, being an Obama supporter, that the only reason why Hillary has had any success is becuase she's a woman........would that be sexist? All I have said, is that she has a HUGE credibility problem. It's not just me saying it. There are her own peoplewho back her that cringe when she tells a story, because they don't know if it's true or not. If I give you Obama's bad points, and I have........why is it hard for you to give up the fact that Hillary and her campaign are screwing up? I want to give her a chance, but ignoring what they BOTHG are doing doesn't show good politics. That's all I'm saying now, and all I have said since I starting posting in here. Members Southofnowhere
If Hillary's team hadn't screwed up over and over and over agian she would have won this thing a longtime ago. Now all that's left for the Clintons to do is try and steal this thing and if they do McCain wins. In the Clintons minds they think they can steal this thing and everone will fall in line behind her it's not going to happen. Heck if Obama wins he's going to have his work cut out for him getting out the female vote. This thing has just gone on too long for there not to be major fallout no matter who wins. Members DevotedToAMC
Seriously! I am shocked that this one has only been closed once. I think we are all just committed to getting this country back to the top once again in the world that we are not necessarily in these serious and heated disagreements since our goals are in sync with one another. There is one political thread going on at another board I post at (soap one) but it really is not like this one...the people there are just posting these naive, predictable, and foolish posts. But here, everyone is well informed on the political process and what is taking place from our candidates. That is why I respect how well this thread has gone-if we disagree, it is usually respectful with well intentions from all involved.
Members DevotedToAMC
Please. Hillary stated it perfectly on Leno about how the superdelegates vote with their hearts as do the people. They just merely designed the super delegate system with the Democrat party approximately 35 years ago. Since there is much controversy over its function this year, it would be a thoughtful debate at the next election to possibly abolish this idea...but it is not about stealing. It is on who they feel should get their vote, just like who the people feel deserves their vote. Think of it like the electoral college. You do have the popular vote, as we do in the primaries, but those electors also have a say in who their candidate should be....now, they are inclined to vote for who is the most popular per district (as is how regular delegates are issued) but it is not always this way with electors. After all, the electoral college has given more of its votes to the loser of the popular vote on more than one occasion (the most recent, of course, being in 2000). I do believe that both the electoral college and superdelegates ought to be eliminated. McCain won't win anyways if he puts Condi Rice on the ticket. Nobody in the South will vote for her and she attracts nobody that matters.
Members DevotedToAMC
1. Understood 2. Okay I understand again. I may have generalized his supporters but not quite as often as some others might do it...in fact, I am an Obama supporter myself. 3. I admitted it a while back...I guess I just did not do it here. But yes it was a lie, one I never condoned (I am not saying you said I condoned it) She is at her best when she appears warm and friendly, not someone who is cold and calculating. That never does well for her (for some it does)...she was very amazing on Leno's show with her witty comments at times and basic passionate support on many issues. Now, Roman, don't be saying she could run again as if the Democrats will lose in November...we are going to win this year
Members DevotedToAMC
Now, Mulder, what do all politicians do? Lie It is just the effect to which they do it. Now, Hillary's lie about Bosnia could very well effect other people...I do think the bigger issue here is where she stands on the issues rather than those statements she made...plus, there was some truth to what she claimed about Bosnia but the part where she lied was when saying she dodged gunshots on the runway. She did not...HOWEVER, being that she was in a war torn country, she was definitely dodging anything that could do major harm to her, such as a gunshot wound (still on the grounds that nobody ever shot at her but that she was cautious about her surroundings)....now lying about a war the way Bush did obviously affected millions of people so that is much more disastrous. I plan to run for public office someday and, trust me, I will lie to get there....but it won't be to the magnitude of the thieves in The White House. One more thing...I would appreciate your vote when I do make that run
