November 4, 200817 yr Member Dixville Notch, New Hampshire has voted and all 21 registered voters showed up to the polls to vote. 15-6 for Obama. LOL http://www.cnn.com/2008/POLITICS/11/04/dix...ref=mpstoryview This town is typically Republican with Bush winning by a landside in the last two elections. Edited November 4, 200817 yr by jcar03
November 4, 200817 yr Member They showed a brief clip of "veteran soap opera star, Robin Strasser" on the ABC noon news here in New York. She was in coat and hat, in line (or as New Yorkers say, on line) to vote at 4:45 this morning. She said that she wanted to make sure she'd have enough time to vote before she had to go to work.
November 4, 200817 yr Member I voted early and for Obama. I live in Texas so my vote for Obama is the same as Brian's for McCain. Good luck on the election Scotty. Thanks Jess.
November 4, 200817 yr Member 5 hours. The finest 5 hours of the last 20 years for me. For the first, and quite possibly only time, I voted for a person of color to become the next President Of The United States Of America. A truly splendid moment. One I will remember until my last day on Earth. Edited November 4, 200817 yr by Roman

November 4, 200817 yr Administrator Come on, America, don't screw this up. The world is counting on you.
November 4, 200817 yr Member http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2008/11/04/d...r_n_140940.html I'm trying to watch The View now and it's getting a little easier since they've gone from Sherri having a problem with the Palin appointed board clearing Palin to Elisabeth complaining about Obama and Rev Wright. I guess Dennis Hopper had more of a problem with McCain's judgment than he does Obama's.

November 4, 200817 yr Member CNN is reporting hoaxes where people have received e-mails and text messages telling them voting has been moved.

For the first, and quite possibly only time, I voted for a person of color to become the next President Of The United States Of America. A truly splendid moment. One I will remember until my last day on Earth. OMG. What an awesome moment in history we are witnessing y'all. Honestly, my jaded half never thought that an African American would be this close to the presidency in my lifetime. And now, that time has come. What a feeling, huh? There's something more than just a presidential election happening here. For all that black people have went through in this country, could MLK's dream start to become a reality? I truly hope so.
November 4, 200817 yr Member I voted early by mail. Just checked the LA County voter websight to make sure the registrar got my vote. And they did on Oct 29th. I voted for Obama. If he is elected, I will fly to DC to witness the inaguration. This will be one of the most historic and memorable events of my life. I truly never thought that in my lifetime a person of color would be able to achieve what Obama has achieved. Just being the Democratic nominee was historic, but if he becomes president, WOW! This is what our democracy is all about. I truly enjoyed the banter, discussions, arguments. Way to go soapnet posters. You are all awesome. Encourage everyone you know to vote.
November 4, 200817 yr Member There were some copies of this edition of the Orlando Weekly at a polling place here. Some middle-aged woman was on the news "outraged" that this magazine was on display where people were casting their votes. Ooohhh...scary This magazine has an unapologetic liberal bias. I thought everyone knew that, but apparently this woman did not.
November 4, 200817 yr Member After hearing about some of the wait times, I'm SO glad I voted early. Not that the time isn't worth it, but I'm still glad I did it when I did.

You have added a lot of value to this forum, UCLAN. It wouldn't have been the same without you. If Obama is fortunate enough to be elected President, I have a feeling that I will sit down and weep - tears of joy.
