When they were talking about the debate here one of the newsreaders said that Biden should do ok if he doesn't say anything stupid, they never mentioned Palin. But I guess that is because every time she opens her mouth something stupid comes out.

We get CNN on cable here and the debate was live. And it is going to be replayed at 7.00 pm that is Australian time. I'll watch it then.

My analysis....she held her own. She was more coherent than she's been in weeks. It reminded me of the Sarah Palin from her old debates. That said, she didn't really say much, she didn't really answer questions, and it further proved this was not the best choice for a running mate.

I hate hearing the way she says nuclear.

Joe Biden gets major points for pointing out that you can't figure out how to deal with global warning if you don't know what caused it.

The most disturbing thing is that she wants the VP to have even more power than Cheney has already taken.

She's personable and all and I suppose her style works for some people but that winking at the camera is not what I want to see a candidate do. I didn't care for her tone at times.....she decided to ask and answer her own questions.

All the nastiness about Gwen Ifill and Gwen Ifill actually helped her.

So she sounded better than she did in the interviews but she didn't give me the impression that she knows a whole lot because most of her answers lacked substance and sounded rehearsed. I was impressed with what she said about Darfur though.

You need to understand the relevance of Ifill calling her cousin "brilliant baby cousin". This would lead me to believe that Ifill endorces the ideals and views of her cousin. If her cousin had shot this off in a normal circumstance..it would not have made the news.

The fact the Ifill holds her in the stature of being "brilliant" speaks highly to Ifills own beliefs and ideals.

With all of that being said. I think Ifill made a substantial effort to be balanced..

I don't need to understand at all. My opinion is that it's irrelevant since Ifill is not running for office so you can say it as many ways as you want....it's a moot point as far as I'm concerned.

I find it extremely offensive that you were so willing to go after Gwen Ifill's professionalism without being familiar with her at all. Then when people offered up their opinions you disregarded them. Now I understand that yours is the only opinion that matters to you but by the same token you might consider that other people's opinions matter to them.

Biden did a great job, she was mediocre. I found her stiff, rehearsed and when she had to answer to a question, she avoided it and went back to talking about energy. I wanted to hear where she stood on the issues. I didnot want to hear her shout out to some grade school or how she was in the soccer field. I did not think that she sounded confident at all in her answers and at one point I thought she might lose it. Biden was good in the fact that he didn't ramble on nor did he jump all over her. I thought at times he was visibly trying to keep his mouth shut when she refused to answer a question.

Line of the night goes to Biden with the Bridge to Nowhere crack.

Am I the only one that thinks Biden has great caps on his teeth? He has a great smile for an older gentleman. And Palin's youngest, the five month old, My God, has she ever cried? Every time I have seen that baby the baby is asleep. Are they giving the baby tranqualizers?
