You didn't ask a question about why he had his reaction. You asked a question that came across as presumptuous and not you're saying it was not so much of a presumption which sounds like it may be a little bit presumptuous.

Thanks for clearing that up for me and yet I'm still baffled by her reference......I guess I'm just an idiot.

McCain is a liar!

Umm..he is going to debate. He hasn't dodged any debate! Anyone that felt he was debate dodging was wrong, pure and simple.

Of course you think it was a photo op. Why would a US Senator and Presidential candidate have any business meeting about the future of the financial sector of our nation.

He was there for a picture...nothing else..

I didn't know you were at the meeting Roman. Cool, you should have invited the rest of us. .How do you know he said nothing?. I guess the Dems word is final in their report of McCain not participating.

What did Obama say during the meeting? I haven't heard that reported..

1. Glad you agree that McCain is a liar. It's about time. :D

2. He was dodging the debate. That is my opinion, whether you agree or not. Good thing I don't care.

3. So what you are NOW saying is that anything that is reported that you don't agree with is wrong. Thanks for clearing that up. Didn't know you had such a low opinion of the Forth Estate.

Remeber that the next time you post an article.

McCain did suspend his campaign before Bush invited Obama and McCain to the White House. McCain did not go to Washington for the meeting and in fact never even mentioned the meeting with Bush when he was discussing his intention to suspend his campaign.

Thanks Wales. I apologize for being presumptuous...

Let me correct and rephrase..

Greg, why did you react the way you did? Do you not agree that we should side with Israel if Iran attacks them?

Do you not feel that the hatred of Jews and wishing to kill them is similar to the Holocaust?

I now clearly understand your position on the Iranian hatred of Jews being nothing like the Holocaust. You have brought up great points in pointing out that there are by no means similar in any way!

IA, I now see no connection between Hitler killing Jews and Ahmadinejad wanting to..You have swayed me into seeing the error of Palin's ways.

I'm baffled about her comments too! Why did she mention the Holocaust? Ahmadinejad loves Israel! Wanting to see the death of Israel and its Jewish inhabitants is nothing like the Holocaust.

I'm the idiot..for ever thinking otherwise.

McCain made 'huge mistake,' Huckabee says

Posted: 12:43 PM ET

From CNN Ticker Producer Alexander Mooney

(CNN) – Former Republican presidential candidate Mike Huckabee said Friday the John McCain made a "huge mistake" by even floating the possibility he would not appear at the first presidential debate as planned.

“You can’t just say, ‘World stop for a moment. I’m going to cancel everything,” Huckabee told the Associated Press Thursday.

Huckabee, who vied with McCain for the GOP presidential nomination long after it appeared McCain was the party's presumptive nominee, has been an on-and-off critic of the Arizona senator. Earlier this summer he took part in a Washington, DC rally calling on McCain and Obama to highlight more evangelical issues on the campaign trail. He also criticized McCain's campaign when it alleged Obama's "lipstick on a pig" comments was an intended slight at Republican VP candidate Sarah Palin.

McCain abruptly announced Wednesday he would travel to Washington in hopes of striking a deal on the economic bailout deal, and said he would not attend a debate unless an agreement had been reached. Late Friday morning campaign aides said McCain felt sufficient progress had been made on the and he would attend the debate.

But the bill itself appears very much up in the air. After what was described by members of both parties as a "contentious" meeting at the White House Thursday afternoon, congressional leaders are still trying to hammer out a compromise on the Bush administration proposal. Speaking to reporters Friday morning, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid said McCain's presence on the Hill helped stall negotiations.

"All he has done is stand in front of the cameras," said Reid, who has long had a chilly relationship with McCain. "We still don't know where he stands on the issue."

Well, I guess my friend Brian is off getting married. But I'm going to respond to his post regardless...

<< Greg takes Brian's hand and puts on some music......"Com'on baby! Let's do the twist...Com'on babaaayyy let's do the twist. Lookie there's Obama's plan...and it goes like this..." >>

You know I read your posts! Where did that come from? I was commenting on your last sentence that said "God help us". I thought that was in reference to Clinton as well. Obviously it wasn't so we're good, right?

OK, so why do you keep thinking I don't read your posts? Wasn't my comment regarding how Bush couldn't get his own party behind the bailout? I remember very clearly your posts that said both parties were to blame, but this was a different issue.

Now I'm confused. Did I take my medication today?!?!?

See, now I'm sure I didn't take my meds cuz I keep hearing contradictory things from you and Casey on this matter. After McCain held his press conference, you kept saying he was going back "to do his job". Then you said that he was going to "provide support" and now you're saying that he went back because he "was asked to".

Jo no entiendo, Senor.

Ummm. I was actually going by what he said in his address to the nation a couple days ago:

So please explain to me how the economy can be strong, yet this financial crisis is going to lead to a "long and painful recession" if something isn't done? Cuz I'm not gettin it, dudes.

Nowhere in that question did the subject of Iran come up. You have made that assumption. Do I think that we should align with Isreal against Iran? Duh. Of course I do.

ITA with Wales, and that was the point I was trying to get across, is that the reference to the Holocaust gave me a minute of WTF. You are the one that read into that the Iran issue.

Yup.

Why is this even relevant? Did Obama even say he was going to suspend his campaign to deal with this crisis?

Uhm no.

Did Obama invite himself to the meeting?

Uhm no. Nor was he in a position to turn down the invitation.....so he went and did what I thought they both would do......get their picture taken.

Obama's participation is not relevant, you are right. The comments of the potential President of the United States, during the meeting covering the largest financial crisis in 80 years, is of no relevance because he didn't suspend his campaign.

No, and neither did McCain.

Did Obama attend?

Obama was there to get his picture taken too? You honestly believe that neither candidate (both potentially being the next president) had NO meaningful input in the meeting. You feel our next president was there just to get a picture taken?

For someone that shows the effort and passion to participate in a political discussion, you sound more like uneducated Joe Blow (that is not even going to vote) by making a comment like that..Very cynical and presumptious, I might add...
