Maybe if you look at the situation from a different perspective then you might understand that if, hypothetically, there are a million black people in the land then hiring one doesn't seem like a big deal.

A thief knows if he gets caught that he might have to spend time in prison and the might is contingent upon how well his lawyer is able to work the system. Maybe Palin has nothing to hide or maybe she thought that she would be able to use her influence in the state to fix it, or maybe she's counting on McCain's people to fix it. She has no qualms about getting up and repeating lies about things that can be easily verified so there's no reason to believe that she wouldn't think this could just go away if certain forces backing her are willing to make it go away.

Doesn't seem like there is no change at all between how SP handles her business and how GWB & DC handle theirs? She was cooperating before she got the VP slot, and now yhe investigation hits a stone wall. Now it makes it seem like you have something to hide because you won't do the right thing.

It is obvious here because the only people that can authorize expenditure in state funds are those who are given authority. Had the COS not been given authority, then the travel could not have been approved. As far as pushing forth as VP nominee, it's because she thinks if he gets elected, it will all go away. She originally asked for the investigation, said she welcomed the investigation and fully participated in the investigation until she was nominated as McCain's running mate. Gov. Palin is ambitious. No problem there, what politician is not? McCain knew about the investigation when he appointed her. Instead of taking the high road and saying let's cooperate fully, ask for an immediate hearing and put this behind us, the McCain/Palin ticket took the wrong approach. They elected to try to avoid scandal. Instead of avoiding a scandal, they have created one.

Now, do you really want to compare this to what has happened in the Bush White House? It's very much like the Bush WH actually. They are attempting to ignore the will of the legislature (A GOP legislature in Alaska, I might add) and they are trying assert some false power of the executive.

Condi, in my opinion had nothing to do with Katrina. I disagree with Roman on that. However, I also think saying that he is a hypocrite because he holds a public official to a high standard of accountability is not fair. There is a difference between accountability for him and for Secretary Rice. You know, saying it was the Mayor and the Gov and that there was not shortcoming on the part of the administration or vice versa makes us what we condemn: Putting partisan interests above what is good for the people. Until the National Guard General came to New Orleans, it was a mess. He was the hero. The White House, the governor and the mayor all made a mess of it. None of them are innocent.

I KNOW she didn't have anything to do with Katrina. What I am saying is that the look of what she was doing, even though she wasn't responsible, was not good at all.
