Barack Obama Elected President!

I don't see anything unfair that he asked Sarah Palin. The difference is, Obama has been in the Senate and sat on the Foreign Relations committee, he has a good grasp on issues of foreign affairs, Palin hasn't had any sort of real experience with that, so naturally she would be asked more questions on foreign affairs.

Do you see that Charlie had a harsh tone with Palin? He asked her if accepting the job takes away from her humilty..he basically was telling her that she was conceited for running with McCain. He did not have any where near the same tone with Obama.

She has never met any head of state from another conutry. Every VP for the last 50 years has met at least ONE H.O.S.

Her non-existant foreign policy experience is now not a big deal because she showed she had none. You can see Russia from an island in Alaska?

WTF is that?! Damn, I can see Ill. from Missouri. Should we go to war with them because the Cubs are in first place and the Cardinals are in 4th?

And let me add......had Obama or Biden answered those questions the very same way Pain did, those who are sayingshe was not treated failry would be BLASTING Obama and Biden for knowing nothing about Foreign Affairs. The print news media are finally doing their job, and it was great seeing CB get tough and remain fair.

If she can't answer questions from a reporter, and feel she was being treated unfairly, she shouldn't be on the ticket.

You know what she means by Alaska being close to Russia. Its easy to simplify, but as governor of Alaska she has access to classified information on Russia. She has more informatin about the interworkings of Russia than BO does.

Lets compare Barry's foreign policy to Palin's...What makes him so much more qualified in foreign affairs?

Redd... Surely you feel Obama's answers to those same questions asked of Palin are relevant and something the general public would like to hear. Remember that Gibson's interview took place during the primaries... Hillary was his opponent and has been in the Senate for years now and has a good grasp on issues of foreign affairs... so wouldn't it have been natural at the time for Gibson to ask Obama more questions on foreign affairs?

And remember that, at that point, Obama was still an emerging figure on the national stage. Wasn't it Gibson's duty to explore these issues with Obama, too? Why didn't he? Do you agree that he should have?

I doubt she has that much information about Russia, I mean she is only the Governor and probably is privy to very little. Besides, Russia isn't the only foreign country the US has to deal with, there are many others.

Let's see, Obama majored in political science with a special focus on foreign affairs and has sat on the Senate Foreign Relations committee, that counts for something. Palin can't point to any experience or knowledge of foreign affairs and is being schooled by advisers.

To specifically quote you, Roman... had Obama or Biden answered those questions... That is exactly the point. Obama wasn't asked those questions by Gibson. Those are VERY relevant questions, absolutely, and should be asked of all candidates. Gibson had an opportunity to do so at a very important time in the campaign -- while Obama was running against a more experienced Hillary Clinton during the primaries -- and failed to do so, instead obviously lobbing softballs Obama's way. What I want to know is WHY Gibson, in this very obvious and very blatant example, conducted these two interviews so very differently -- and especially given the similar circumstances in which the candidates are being offered up to the public.

I'll say Charlie is tough and fair when he lobs the same questions Obama's way. Until then, it looks like blantant bias and obvious unfair treatment to me.

And let me be equally as blunt.....CB did not need to ask Obama or Biden tjose questions. When these men sit on the Senate Foreign Relations committee, and with Biden's 30 years of experience (There's that word again. It seems to only count when talking about McCain) what do they have to explain.

She said you can see Russia from an island in Alaska. Nowhere in that interview did she say anything about the experience she had. And, the fact that when she was asked about the Doctrine, she paused as if caught off-guard and then seemed to ask CB a question of what did he mean in a peturbed manner. Was she upset? About what?

She will be interviewed by Sean Hannity this Tuesday. I'm quite sure he has already sent her the questions so her and her staff can go over them and she can study them.

(to every pro-Obama poster) You guys throw more out there trashing McCain/Palin than you do in support of Obama. Everyone knows your not going to vote for McCain, so why not give those that are undecided more reasons to vote for your guy..But if not...I will continue to defend my candidates and be the brunt of rude remarks.

I disagree with that. And I could respond with something likewise, but I won't.

Please state how she has more innner workings of Russia than Obama does.

Governor Palin’s government directly negotiated fishing and other border sensitive issues directly with the Russians. She possesses direct knowledge about the sizeable U.S. Air Force and Navy presence in her state–and that presence largely exists to patrol and shadow Russian air and naval forces along the Alaskan border and the polar ice cap. Often these patrols involve nuclear armed aircraft and naval vessels. The men and women in the U.S. military who operate these bases live in Alaska and extensive details about those operations are routinely understood by Alaskan state government officials.

Alaskans also trade directly with Russians and Canadians.

Has Obama ever negotiated with the Russians on any matter?

My source: for those that claim no substance

When Gibson interviewed Obama, it was part of a series of where Gibson interviewed the candidates briefly and most of the questions were very softball and not heavy on issues of policy. He interviewed Giuliani and Romney during the primaries and gave them the same sort of softball questions as well. Gibson probably would have asked Obama more hard-hitting questions had his interview been more in depth, like Palin's was.

Sorry about that comment. I should have said "most" pro-Obama posters. There are some that do not consistantly trash McCain/Palin..most do though..
