I have bumper stickers but I've never put one on my car because I have issues.....anyway once I overcame that issue, I decided to save myself from fanatics. I had an alumni license plate frame which in retrospect may have been risky since people go overboard with the college rivalry madness as well.

The fact that McCain admits he knows little about the economy is not very comforting because I think a President should be knowledgeable about economic issues. I don't feel he'll make a good Commander in Chief. He doesn't really have any kind of presence at all which Is shallow on my part but I still think it's important. He says everything he says is one hundred percent true.....lying annoys me especially senseless lying and lying about lying. Politicians do it but then to say you tell the truth all the time is even worse. He keeps making guarantees which are worthless at the time they are coming out of his mouth. His campaign has been mostly negative which is alarming and it will only get worse. He's all gloom and doom except when it comes to his running mate and the thought of her in charge of the country is scary.

Sure..BUT..We have not been attacked in 7 years..so who do you give that credit to? Who do feel is more responsible ..Bush or Clinton for Osama Bin Laden's attack on 9/11? IMO..its Clinton..he never went after him..even after the attack on the USS Cole and the first WTC bombing..

Sure...but again..that is GWB..not McCain..I'm looking to the future..I am tired of looking back and finger pointing at Bush..Clinton...Carter (for the Community Reinvestment Act)..

Again..I've said this a few times here today...Bush is a spending fool...McCain is not..he has pledged to cut spending and even went as far to propose a spending freeze with the exception of entitlement programs and defense.

If you are worried about spending...Again..Obama is not your guy..

Obama's plan for withdrawal will take away a key placement for troops against Iran. Just imagine if we withdrew and Iran saw that as an opportunity to put their intentions into effect because we wont be in their back yard any more. I say...let's stay...with less troops mind you...but lets stay a few more years...

Alrighty then. Let me put this another way.

McCain is the same as GWB on his Iraq policy. He has said it's going to be a 100 year war!! Even though he may institute a spending freeze, do you realize how much of our budget goes to the Iraq war? That is spending that is completely out of control. And your candidate is the one that said the war would pay for itself. That we would be greeted as liberators. And none of that is true.

Your point about us needing troops in Iraq "in case" something happens in Iran has never been uttered by either candidate. The reason we are there is because it's the "front line" in the War on Terror. Again, your candidate has said that. There are other ways to keep our troops on the ready in case something happens with Iran. Have you heard of Turkey? Do you realize we have major military bases in that country? We could easily launch any response from those bases.

I really can't keep up with McCain's shifting campaign slogans. Has it changed to "you can't look back, you have to look forward" now? Is this the sound bite taken by the RNC from the VP "debate"??

Hmm Clinton never went after Osama Bin Laden. Gee I wonder why, oh yes that is because the Republician's wouldn't let him. In one of the house's the Repbulician BLOCKED his request for going in and getting him when they had the chance and that was before 9/11. And I learnt that from an Americian documentry on 9/11.

If the McCain/Palin ticket wins in Nov the US and the world is going to get 4 more years of Bush crap. Every time McCain opens his mouth all I hear is Bush talking.

Now if a non American citizen can see that putting McCain/Palin into the White House is going to be exactly the same as Bush/Cheny or maybe even worse, then that it is scary.

To me this is like saying we were being attacked on a regular basis but for the last seven years that has not happened and it's all because of......

I don't blame either Clinton or Bush for 9/11. I do fault Clinton for not going after Osama Bin Laden after the World Trade Center bombing and I fault Bush for still not finding him, but I don't blame either for the attacks. It's a lot more complex than saying all that was needed was for Clinton to have caught Osama Bin Laden and I iddn't think that initially but I believe I know better now.

I was on the phone (for longer than I meant to be) with one of my sisters who lives in Europe, a little earlier, and one of her favorite subjects is politics. I was tossing around my whole invasion/occupation stance on Iraq and how they have the whopping $79 billion dollars and we continue to give them another $10 billion and she didn't have anything nice to say about that. She always says that they're basically uncivilized and you aren't going to change them and that America needs a better foreign policy which not surprisingly, she doesn't think will come from McCain. Except for outright dictatorships and cases of genocide, I don't get why America is always trying to inflict its version of Democracy on other countries. If they say this is how we want to do things and we say how can we help that's another thing altogether.

In maverick speak you are only allowed to look back in reference to anything good McCain has done. Example, POW okay to look back.....Keating 5 too old and belongs on the History Channel......don't ask about that logic....

I don't think it's easy enough just to put it off on Clinton. We've been "going after" him for years and look where we still are.

I don't think anyone is really looking for him and I say this because after the bombing while Clinton was still in office, Diane Sawyer conducted an interview with Bin Laden so the fact that she and ABC News could find him and our government could not was at first shocking. At the time, I do feel Clinton should have had him found. I will continue to feel the same about any President until he is found...but I'm not blaming Clinton for 9/11.

The Iraqi's are never going to learn how to Govern themselves as long as American (and any other countries in any) continue to hold their hands.

One of the promises made by Kevin Rudd durning the election campagin here last year was to pull Australia troops out of Iraq, which has started to happen.

If I have been hearing correctly, McCain/Palin want to keep the troops there holding the hands of the Iraqi's and keep the troops there, where Obama/Biden wants to start bringing the troops home and make the Iraqi's start to govern in their own right.

I would think that Diane Sawyer would have been met somewhere and then blindfolded and brought to Bin Laden.

There was a documentary that was made out of 7 or 9 1 hour episodes. One of them said that Clinton had found him and wanted to go in and get him, but it was blocked in one of the house's by the Republicians. Yes by his on party as well but the majority of the voters that voted nay were republicans.

But the scary thing is that if he does get caught one day, that there is one of his followers ready to take his place.

It's such a pity when I miss posts like these because then I'm denied the pleasure of another good chuckle or two.

At least you said "rarely."

I "rarely" pick fights myself because I was brought up not to start anything but one does get a wee bit testy and moody sometimes and it happens because I'm not always tactful and diplomatic. I have those moments... but I've never read one of your posts and felt any fighting spirit. I'm just not tuned in to your sensitivity level and that's really my problem.

I don't believe in beating down defenseless people and fighting should offer some sort of challenge....I believe.

Now I do joke around a lot and I'm very silly at times....most of the times. But I believe you're smart enough to figure out that I'm really not that stupid. However, I don't think you're smart enough to figure out that if I really wanted to... I could run circles around you on my very worst day......not very modest I know.....but very very true.

And you're still the funniest person on this board to me.......and I guess you still have no respect for me but alas......I haven't been trained in sensitivity yet so you know I do have that built in excuse.

Kudos to Kevin Rudd for keeping his promise.

Your McCain summary is pretty much how it seems to be but I don't think it's a hand holding approach since it's more about maintaining some form of control.

This is kind of why I hear some people question the commitment to finding him and the suggestion that there must be a reason not to. There's no doubt that there is going to be someone in line and someone behind that person.
