You know something else, Jess?

Remeber how Obama got blasted by some in this thread for taking that trip overseas and giving that speech at that huge rally in Germany?

NOW when it suits people's purposes, non-Americans' thoughts are now warranted.

What the hell is the difference?? "Classify" themselves as Dems...isn't that what I said?

Joe Biden said ARTICLE 1..Ahhh! Wrong answer Joey!

Yep..like it or not...breaking a tie in the Senate is a legislative role...

Get over yourself...I am not the one that singles others out...!! For the love of God..just read back...Wales talks about me being extremely offensive...Roman says he agrees with Wales...WTF? Who cares?? Other posters are far more guilty of taking things personal than myself..

The point I was trying to make was that ...they stated the audience that they surveyed were had a Dem majority? Did you see that part?

Granted they don't get to vote over here, but I think their opinions are more important than ever. You think about our standing internationally and it is very alarming. I fear that we have lost our respect in the international community. The war and our immediate reaction to the war (you know the U.S. quitting the UN and shunning Germany and France) made us look bad. Now our economic mess is effecting the rest of the world. I am concerned.

Casey, you said the poll was the same as the Drudge poll and it is not. Also, give CNN credit, they acknowledged that more Dems than R's watched the debate and that was reflected in their survey. The bottom line, also and a point I made in an earlier post, is that who won the debate does not matter. People don't elect a debater. She made no big errors, she did not cost McCain votes.

Second, Biden said the vice president has no legislative role except to break a tie and that is what the Constitution says. He also said the Constitution included the vice president in the executive not the legislative, which is what it does. Yes, he said Article I when it actually was Article II, but what he said about the Constitution's role for the vice president was correct. (I trust you when you say he said Article I. I really do not remember if he said I or II or either) The vice president is not part of the legislative branch and the vice president's only role in voting is to break a tie. I think it is a fair discussion of the view of the President and the Vice President in regard to other branches of government.

I think President Bush, and particularly Vice President Cheney, tried to stretch the power of the executive beyond what the Constitution sought. Also, I disagree with what Palin said tonight and I think she overstated the role of the VP in relation to the legislative branch.

Finally, If you want to take things personal, have at it. I really don't think it accomplishes much for you, but it is up to you.

I have to say I was impressed with how both potential vp's conducted themselves at the debate. I felt like Sarah is still dodging questions though, its fine that she wants to talk to the American people, she can do that and answer hard questions about herself and McCain. I didn't like all that talk about alaska, she is running for vp, not re-election for the gov. of Alaska. I think both were winners tonight, sarah proved that she does have some sort of grasp on things. But I think overall Biden was the winner, he was more knowledgeable, did not dodge any questions, and was more confident.imo

OK, we agree on most points and I will respect your argument that you are not taking things personally.

On Bush and Cheney, Cheney has tried to maintain that he is part of the executive and the legislative and as a result does not have to turn over certain documents sought by the legislature. That is just not true. Bush sided with him on that.

Bush has also tried to argue that he does not have to respond to legislative requests for information (in his defense, I will say other presidents have tried that too).

I'm not interested in the polls. They can shift this way and that, I don't think they're accurate. I don't care what they say... they serve only to attempt to sway others in opinion or action.

I think Sarah Palin did a great job. Did she win it? I don't know. I don't think it is possible to win a debate unless your opponent screws up so badly that those who judge such things can't help but declare a winner. Biden didn't screw up... he was all so very... bland. Your typical older, white smile-and-a-wink politician. He is, in many ways, the exact type of person liberal Democrats DON'T want in office. But ideology wins out over principle every time when it comes to those people.

    • In general, per Jason47's productionschedule estimate, most of what's airing now would have been filmed in late August 2024. But, as Jason himself would say, that's just an estimated average. As we all know, DAYS stuff is filmed out of order by several weeks and sometimes months depending on availability of recurring cast, guest stars, or especially if there is a specific set they want to use for a bunch of scenes that will air at different times. Per the JPI Studios photography info on some spoiler pics released... (film date shown within original URLs of one pic from SOD and a few from MichaelFairman) One scene that aired Tues May 20 was filmed Sept. 20, 2024. Some scenes airing Fri May 23 were filmed Sept 11th, 2024.   Per his IG, Leo Howard got married Sept. 9, 2024 in California.  So maybe he took some time off for that?   Or maybe it's just coincidental timing and completely unrelated.  As I said, some of what's airing in May was filmed in late August. It's so hard to say with everything being filmed out of order.
    • All I'm going to say is I hope Sawandi Wilson was acting in that dance routine because he one of the most rhythmless...... well you know the rest.

Even though I read the spoilers, I was a little surprised that Days went there Ari and Doug III. I won't say it's out of character for Doug III but I didn't expect it when he first heard it was happening. I'm interested in seeing where they go from here. I hope Tate finds out somehow and tells Holly about it. That could be a pretty good mess. But at the same time, their scenes felt rushed. We should have seen more of Ari and Doug III both at the Bar and at the Salem Inn  Doug III looked hot though. And Ari got to have scenes with Marlena too. I really hope that Days establishes a relationship between the two of them. I'd love to see it play out onscreen. And we got an update about Will and Sonny. But again, all this talk about John  I enjoyed the Holly/Doug III scenes too. I liked the way that she helped him today and comforted him about everything that happened with Julie. I'm curious to see how he's going to make things right with her. Belle is dumb but I always love the sibling scenes between her and Brady. I like that they have each other to talk to about how messy their lives are. And I actually don't mind Belle being dumb. I actually find it to be pretty interesting. Surprisingly, she seems messier than Shawn. Btw, now I'm starting to wonder if Tate being sick actually is gonna mean something. Or if Leo Howard just needed some time off. As for Shawn and Steve, their scenes didn't do much for me until the end of the episode. It set things up for tomorrow and I can't wait to see it. Brandon Beemer actually did a pretty good job too. As for the final scene... Idk.

    • per the description on the official GH youtube account, from the clip posted above:  the character Gio was performing "Glow", an original piece that the actor Giovanni Mazza co-wrote and released when he was only 12 years old.
    • I think what they're doing with Hayley being isolated with Bill goes back to when he wanted her to quit her job at the firm and become a “Real Housewife of Fairmont Crest.” But we've seen she hasn’t, so she should be out there mingling—maybe with Caroline—or deciding to join some league or chapter, involving Dani, Anita, or Nicole. I also wouldn’t mind seeing her in more scenes with Derek, since she’s one of the few people who can make him tolerable and less dull. Or what if she bonds with Eva? They’re both outsiders in the community and constantly made to feel like trash by the Duprees.   I’d love to have my theory finally come to light—that Leslie’s mother is actually Sharon. Maybe Leslie is bitter toward Nicole and the rest of the Duprees because she believes her mother should’ve had the kind of fame and fortune Anita has if things had gone differently, especially if her mother had the vocals—i.e. Dreamgirls, Effie. I remember Leslie saying she listened to the Articulettes growing up, and she also mentioned she lived in Chicago—where, guess what? The Articulettes are from.
    • Ranger, will you be his champion?! Tell Dante to back the he&l off? Be there for him in the coming days when he is going to be furious & possibly turn his back on the Cerullos & the Qs & show up at Sonny's door looking for a new place to park his weary head? As for me, I watched the NB every year even when I wasn't watching GH. Many years have been disappointing. So far this year is amazingly satisfying. Clothes! Performers! Drama!  So ironic that they actually have Cam doing what we always said he should be doing, emcee, tux, mic, huge toothy grin! Snark! Could they possibly throw any more shade? Nooo! This is like 100% attitude coming from all directions. You could say I died & went to heaven. Gimme all this high school talent show soapy goodness, I mean, it's only 4 days, what kind of wimp are you, anyway? As soap fans, we are supposed to enjoy these occasional flights of fancy. Maybe you aren't, but I sure as he&l am! And, I won't let any Debbie Downers ruin it for me, either. This brief early morning message was brought to you by the letter N for what else Nurses Ball. Edit to add: Didn't we see Sawandi really dancing in a preview?!!! And, as a Kristina lover, I think we are def headed to either Ferncliff or some other similar facility. Meanwhile Mansi & NLG their scenes yesterday AMAZING, that's acting. The point being that y'all Kristina haters are gonna get your way.
    • I have seen little of Wally, but I always think of the backstage story Julia Barr (I think it was Julia) told where he hated his character and storylines so much that at one point he put some form of clown makeup on in his dressing room to show his feelings.
