I was being respectful towards you even when I thought you were being presumptuous about GGL's meaning.

I don't know why calling myself an idiot should elicit this type of response because it sounds as if I had called you an idiot.

Maybe I'm an idiot for not seeing things your way and even that doesn't merit the response you've given.

I'll just let this go because I don't have any interest at all in wasting my time on the brilliance of Palin......

:lol::lol::lol:

Go back one page to see my last post. It got buried a little while others were posting.

You have an uncanny knack for spin, do you know that? Is McCain's campaign aware of this, because they are really missing out if they don't recruit you like, now.

Let me explain.

Yes, the Holocaust was the killing of Jews, Casey, but it was so much more than that. There were millions of people killed that weren't Jews. They were POWs, Gypsies, Homosexuals, Slavics, ethnic Poles, etc. I know you have to realize that it was systemic and took years of degradation, humiliation and abuse before these people were killed. They were locked up and tortured.

Why would someone use this as an example of Israel defending itself? I understand the Jews were the primary target of the Nazis and in the concentration camps, but this is just .... I don't know.

IMHO, if she was talking about Iran (and she never mentioned them in the context of this question), it's like comparing apples to oranges. Take that however you want. I just thought the comparison was very inappropriate and she could have answered the question without using the Holocaust as an example.

Thanks for your respectfullness. It is greatly appreciated.

What type of response have elicited?

I'm sorry if you didn't mean that as a smartass remark. But, when you pointed out that you already knew what happened during the holocaust...I did not feel it was not dripping with respect..

I knew that you probably knew what happened during the Holocaust ...I was trying to push you further into explaining where you felt Palin was wrong...And you still dont seem to be able to do that.

I dont know how you see Palin's comments..You haven't explained. You have just conveyed your being "baffled"

I think the comment of you being "baffled" by Palin's response was implying that you do not see the situation in Iran as similar to the Holocaust?

Sorry if I was too presumptious once again for your taste...

You did not explain your reasoning for feeling this way..so I filled in the blanks for you...

I'll just let this go too, because I don't have the interest in debating with someone that wont back up their comments with reasoning.

Uh Oh. Am I being to mean or rude? You probably wont read my posts from here on out....Oh well..

Please share the title of that book with me.

Roman, that article by Dan Balz was something. I agree with it totally. McCain had a very bad day. He did it to himself too. He says he's going to go join the negotiations and has no plan on how to do so????

You know, I am starting to feel a little sorry for Palin. She was brought on to the campaign for very cynical reasons. Then, they lock her up and not let her out on her own for a month, then throw her in to interviews with network anchors. Obviously they did not prepare her for those interviews. She's not an idiot. I don't think she's ready to be a VP candidate and the campaign certainly has not done anything the last month to make her ready to be a VP candidate. I can't believe they did not let her out on her own and allow her to gain some confidence in meetings with the media. What was so obvious is that she felt assured and confident when she interviewed with Charlie Gibson. She was nervous and insecure with Katie Couric. It was like she had no confidence at all.

    • Thanks for letting us know about that.  All this time, I've been thinking they were just too lazy to create a simple, temporary set for an office.  That clearly ain't the case; it's the never-ending budget crisis.  The "business stories" about all these zillion different companies can't be told effectively in a restaurant, so they probably need to re-think the type of stories they're telling.
    • I would have preferred it happened off screen as well.  The excitement his family had about him coming back makes it that much sadder and tragic.  I don't really need to see a family say goodbye to not-John.   I won't even go on my Orpheus rant who's beef is actually with Roman and not John.

    • I don't like it, but… Roman originally died falling off a cliff, while fighting Stefano.  That's completely beyond the limits of today's production, but I think the Orpheus tangent paid homage to that idea.  And, as we've discussed, it would be difficult to determine who John's ultimate mortal enemy would be, that is still alive.  It is arguably not Orpheus, whose been more of a pain to Marlena. I object to it not happening off-screen.  I can think of a dozen ways that Marlena could be watching a live stream, and we see it from her POV. Or, Shane has to tell the family that he died in the line of service.  Or, Andrew has to tell the family that John died saving him, and he feels guilty. What I don't like is the tacky optics of watching not-John in danger, and presumedly watching people say goodbye to not-John.   From the establishing shots, to the costuming, to this casting choice, it appears that DAYS has more problems with the visuals than the dialogue.  All things being equal, that's not a terrible place to be. To @carolineg's point, I believe John would've at least texted his wife that he was back in Salem and home soon.
    • We will agree to disagree on this.  He would go see Marlena first, explain he has to help Bo, and then go meet Steve, Shawn, Hope, etc.  I know that realistically isn't possible, but John would never keep Marlena hanging like that IMO.  She's always been the most important person to him. There were also MULTIPLE people working on the Bo situation.  John could have taken 1/2 hour to see Marlena especially when she was obviously so worried about him.
    • I disagree. I think John would do the right thing and help Bo first if Bo's life were in danger, and that his family would love him for being true to those ideals.  To me, that's just who John is.
    • His father, Sir William McMahon, served as the 20th Prime Minister of Australia from 1971 to 1972
    • Yes.  I am not capable of telling you what my perfect ending would be for John, but I think it would involve being a hero and taking out Orpheus or even a now alive Stefano or something.  But then they would win.  Idk, it just an impossible circumstance for the writers.  There is no way the John we know would just immediately go help Bo before going to see his family.    I had a similar feeling when John was killed off in a "random" car accident years ago, but that obviously wasn't permanent.
    • When I double-checked with the publicist last night about this, she immediately got Jamey to issue the correction that he posted less than 20 minutes after I contacted her. Drake did not do any new voiceover work for this storyline. Any Drake stuff you hear is flashback audio.
