LikeI said.......anyone who did not know that was racially offensive are the only people in the Deep South to say something like that....

Because calling someone of color uppity just might get your tail a one-way trip to the ER.

Probably by the end of the weekend K&TG will respond. If not.......they don't care, because it's been in the news for the last two days.

I was as well, and knew that term when I was a little boy.

Guess I now have to add 3 people to the list of those who didn't know.

Fox news just came out with a report that they had the largest audience during McCain's speech. I think they include local Fox stations as well... Not sure though. They beat out all major networks and all cable coverage.

Seeing as fox had the largest viewing audience and they weren't lead in by a football game, I dont think the game had a huge impact. I will give you that it did help as a lead in for NBC.

Just goes to show what the Sarah Palin soap opera has done for his campaign. Now lets just hope the Obama camp does not take the bait and shifts the focus off her and onto the most important issues. If they can keep this about the issues, McCain has no chance. If "As The World of Sarah Palin Turns" finds a regular home in the news cycles, I seriously fear for America's and the world's future.

He will raise taxes, income taxes. Income taxes carry the highest burden to business. A $500 credit will help, but it will not benefit very much seeing that they will be paying even more income taxes. I prefer McCain's plan to add no further income tax to business.

Your copied and pasted sources are only a portion of Obama's plans. (the better-sounding side).

No thanks

Then you should have heard both Obama & Biden today. They both stayed on the issues and blasted McCain.

Poll: Only 4 in 10 say Palin has enough experience

WASHINGTON (AP) — Just four in 10 say Republican vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin has enough experience to be president, while nearly two-thirds say so about Joe Biden, her Democratic counterpart, a poll showed Friday.

Views of Palin largely reflect partisan loyalty and show she's having little initial impact on which presidential ticket people support, the ABC News survey showed.

Eight in 10 Republicans and more than four in 10 independents say they have more confidence in Republican presidential nominee John McCain's decision-making for his selection of Palin. Six in 10 Democrats say it reduces theirs.

More have a favorable than unfavorable view of Palin by 50 percent to 37 percent — a bit less than the 54 percent to 30 percent positive opinion they have of Biden. Palin is seen favorably by 85 percent of Republicans, 24 percent of Democrats and 53 percent of independents.

By just 6 percentage points, people say her choice makes them likelier to vote for than against the McCain ticket. Pivotal GOP voting blocs — conservatives, Republicans and white evangelicals — are all likelier to support than oppose McCain because of Palin by 32 points or more.

Biden makes people likelier to support Democratic presidential nominee Barack Obama by 12 points. Most say neither vice presidential pick will make a difference.

Seven in 10 say the pregnancy of Palin's unmarried teenage daughter doesn't affect their view of Palin. By 2-to-1 most say the mother of five — including an infant with Down syndrome — made the right choice to become McCain's running mate.

Women and men back Palin's choice to run about equally. Republicans and independents are far likelier than Democrats to support her decision.

Four in 10 say Palin's choice to have her youngest child after a diagnosis of Down syndrome makes them feel more favorably about her, while just over half say it had no impact.

The poll was conducted Thursday and involved telephone interviews with 505 adults. It had a margin of sampling error of plus or minus 4.5 percentage points.

Good for him. He doesn't have to be angry any more.

And bad for me because I forgot to specifically mention NBC. At least I remembered all the previous times and I shouldn't have taken it for granted that anyone would think I thought that every channel was showing football.

For the record, I happen to know that NBC covers the NFL season opener which is usually on a Thursday night in September after Labor Day. NBC covers Sunday Night Games. ESPN covers Monday Night Games. Fox and CBS carry Sunday morning/afternoon games.:lol::lol:

    • Maybe there was a scheduling conflict or something. He still has the full time 9-5 in Atlanta, right? Julie was there. Idk if Maggie’s gonna be a part of it though

    • Today Monday was the start of people arriving at the funeral, but the service hasn't started yet.  I know this is the nonspoiler thread but I think it's okay to say (in nonspecific terms) that the funeral episodes span a few days.  I won't detail it more here. Just sayin' keep watching.
    • Why am I only now hearing about what happened in L.A., lol?
    • While I agree that Reeves is Jennifer, I honestly do prefer Cady McClain in the role, as I feel she had/has a wider range of acting capabilities than I feel Reeves has. It's the strength of an actor, ultimately, for me, regardless of how I feel about Reeves' political/social views (which I widely disagree with). Plus, not to mention, they costumed Reeves like an old-fashioned frumpy farm/Moron wife, while McClain had some fashion-forward moments.
    • Wait - so no Will, Jack, or Jen at John's funeral? That’s just weird. What was the point of bringing them back then? Did Julie and Maggie even show up? I mean, seriously.

    • Has anyone ever totted up how many women on GL slept with both father and son(s)? Reva gets a lot of crap for it but she's far from the only one: Claire Beth Blake Olivia Dina Did I miss anyone?  Also, did Reva ever sleep with Phillip? They always had some "closeness" thing, but I don't know if they ever actually did the deed. If they did, then Reva's the clear winner, with TWO families covered, lol!
    • I think Long was probably planning to have Claire suffer from Post Partum, but she left the writing staff shortly after Claire had Michelle so that element didn't get explored. And I always assumed that when Claire returned in the late 90s/early 00s.. that she was realizing that she messed up by not staying a part of Michelle's life and became resentful/bitter over her previous choices.  That was my theory.
