Barack Obama Elected President!

I think that it is absurd how the Democrats are trying to tie John McCain to President Bush, since everybody knows that McCain is no carbon copy of Bush. (In fact, this reason is why McCain will make a strong general election candidate.)

Although the Republicans still are unlikely to win in November, even the most partisan Democrat has to admit these primaries have gone as well as possible for the Republicans. In fact, the only way that the Republicans were ever going to have a chance at winning the general election were if (1) John McCain became the nominee and (2) the Democrats had a very divisive primary. Of course, those two things have already happened.

I think democrats can make that assertion, this is a man that wants to go to war for 100 years and wants to keep bush's economic plan. The only way McCain is gonna win the general election imo is if there is no obama/clinton ticket, I think obama and clinton will be too vulnerable without the other and they are already giving McCain waay too many ideas to tear them down. Obama with his inexperience and the clintons and there shady past.imo

A McCain presidency would merely be another four years of the Bush agenda...that is all he will offer and why he should not be president.

I don't blame the Democrats for tying him to Bush...other than his support for stem cell research and position on torture, they are exactly alike

There's no way anyone could count out the Republicans, who have become masters of manipulating elections. Even the Democrats are adopting their tactics by rewarding Florida and Michigan for insubordination on Clinton's behalf. Karl Rove is advising the McCain campaign now, so don't be surprised if the first of our hundred years in Iraq starts in January.

On another episode of As the Democrats turn, Obama rejects being clintons no. 2 man. Those clintons sure have alot of nerve.

Despite the drama two clinton backers are willing to raise the money to have new primaries in FL and MI I think the obama camp should agree to it, heck obama could probably raise the money for it himself.

Obama rejects being clintons no. 2 man

While I am a supporter of Hillary Clinton, her comments about McCain being a more experienced leader over Obama were way off base. He is not fit to be president...Obama has shown to have way more judgment in just three plus years in the Senate than McCain has with pretty much two decades worth as a U.S. Senator

Oh geez, Republicans are manipulating people to vote for them LOL

The Clintons tried to show that voters can have the best of both worlds if they elect her as the nomiee.

But I agree, Obama made a big mistake in responding back..let your campain manager do that...you keep doing what your doing. Don't get into the trap they set for you. Just shows his inexperience.

As for Obama having more experience than McCain, get real. I doubt anyone, whether they like McCain or not would agree there.

McCain actually works with both parties to get things done...Obama...hell, never called a meeting!

Obama also supported a bill that would kill a baby after it survived an abortion attempt...meaning..when it was all on its own, breathing and crying...he supported it to be killed. This was during his tenure in Illinois.

I do not call that experience. I call that a down right shame.

And lets' see.

McCain now has his own friends saying what a hothead he is. Whcih means I don't want someone like that with their finger on the button. On top of the fact, this is the same man who said hedidn't know that much about the economy (What Republican does  ) and also said that he agrees with the Bush foreign policy (One of the most disasterous in this nation's history).

Obama didn't have a choice but to answer her question. He did it once, and he moved on. You don't leave a campaign worker to answer a question about being VP. That's like leaving the first key holder to run a fast food restaurant while the store manager sits outside and greets the people.

Obama is doing excatly what he should do, even with his mistakes, and I have more confidence in him than I do in a former FL and current senator who can't figure out which campaign to run, and a Republican candidate who, even though I do like him, will continue the current failed policies.

What about Clinton's inexperience in making an asinine and contradictory insinuation that he would even want to be her VP? The way his campaign reps have negated his philosophy on NAFTA and resigned for slandering her, it's probably time that we heard more of his point of view from his own mouth. Besides, he doesn't beat a dead horse like she does. Making one remark about his opponent's dumb statement cant possibly be equivalent to HIS incompetence. Maybe he should stick to his problematic speeches about hope and change, the more acceptable display of inexperience.

If you ask me, Hillary is merely commenting on how so many people really like both of them that they wish they could vote for them. If I were her, I would retract the comment about McCain being more qualified than Obama (he will still use it but retraction is a step in the right direction)

I highly doubt she said that comment about him as VP due to being inexperienced to be president...she is referring to the scenario of if she is the nominee for president

    • Eeek. I didn't know this either! I will say, though, even though they skimmed over a lot of Roger's past, I will give them props for not trying to turn him into a hero. Yeah, I was hoping we would get more 1986 episodes than were available on YT before, but now I'm wondering if I really want to see that.
    • That's what Julie Hanan Carruthers is doing for BTG at the new studio in Atlanta, but JHC is credited. And @errol said JHC is working in a nonproduction capacity at Y&R.
    • I remember when the whole Missy Reeves controversy started in 2012.  She tweeted support of a business that had made homophobic statements. Greg Rikaart (who was on Y&R back then) publicly called her out on it, but was willing to reach out and speak with her. Article here: https://greginhollywood.com/greg-rikaart-talks-about-his-twitter-war-with-fellow-soap-star-melissa-reeves-over-anti-gay-chick-fil-a-73139 That being said, ten years later, on DAYS, in 2022, when they had they double wedding of Leo/CraigWesley and Gwen/Xander, Jack and Jennifer came to the wedding.  At that time, Missy Reeves was only intermittently available for DAYS. Jennifer was living "in Boston" and Cady McClain and Missy were each intermittently appearing as Jennifer, on the specific occasions when the show required a Jennifer to appear. Missy wasn't on contract and she could have said no. But she chose to appear as Jennifer for the gay wedding of Greg Rikaart's character.   So... I mean... I would assume they reached a détente behind-the-scenes. Missy still has her belief system but there's that.
    • That was one of the best grandslam finals.  Alcaraz comes all the way back down 2 sets to 0, and three match points in the 3rd set, to win it in a 5th set tie-break.  And the quality of play was excellent - so many great shots.  What a battle!
    • Indeed. I may try to watch it in full sometime, but not anytime soon... Mark played Sean Baxter for a few episodes when Courtney married Andy. Burke was either on Broadway or at OLTL at that time, I suppose.
    • Well, Josh was a horndog. LOL Yep. It was one of the first really weird things Reva did with her PPD. She became obsessed with the idea that Dylan and Sam should get married. Sam was only 17, and needed her parent's permission. Reva helped them leave town so they could go to a neighboring state where Sam was old enough. Ross, Billy and Josh stopped them, then Sam went to India to try and persaude Justin. Reva followed her and didn't tell Josh she was going. While Reva was gone, Josh advertised for nannies, and Harley applied. He ended up hiring someone else. But when Reva returned, she hired Harley because (in her weird mental state) she wanted someone she could trust with the kids (because she feared Josh was trying to get rid of her and that Vanessa wanted the children.). After Reva starts treatment, she asks Harley to stay until she's stronger because she's good with the kids. At the party, Reva starts going off the rails, insulting Justin and Josh hauls her to a private dining room to ask WTF. Reva starts confronting him about the "affair" with Vanessa, and he realizes she is weird. He locks her in the dining room and frees Mindy and Van from the ladies room (where Reva has locked them in). Van starts telling him that Reva attacked her and needs help.  Reva escapes out the window of the dining room and goes back to the party, climbs onto a table and starts a striptease. Josh gets her to stop, takes her home and after filling Ed in, decides to go to the doctor the next day. Reva then takes off and spends days running around town, coming on to a guy she thinks is Billy, Billy, Hamp, Frank and Roger.  Roger takes her to his apartment and takes nude pictures of her, which he tries to blackmail Billy with. He wants the deed to the land the Towers is on in exchange for them. (Billy had been left the deed by a sweet old lady who lost her home in the 5th street fire. Roger had stolen the deed from her before she died. After Roger took those pics of Reva, she saw him hide them, and took an envelope from the hiding place. She didn't realize she'd taken the deed and not the pictures.)  Anyway, Billy and Vanessa trick Roger into burning the pictures, claim the deed and at the Towers opening reveal that Billy owns the land and therefore the Towers. That's what led to Roger and Alex's breakup and Roger and Mindy's affair. Mark Lewis was on ATWT? 1986 is not a good year, storywise. No bueno. Muy no bueno.
    • All the time they spent trying to make viewers feel sorry for Chad only for him to not even last that long. I wonder if they knew Richard Burgi was going so quickly. You're right about Josie replacing Cheryl. On paper, this should have made sense, given all the ties Josie had to the canvas, but I did prefer Cheryl. There was something very synthetic about Alexandra Wilson.  I suppose even if she did have some fans they were just so used to getting rid of people left and right, so she was more collateral damage. As you said above I do wonder what the plans were for Peggy Lazarus. I think AWHP mentioned her once telling Peter that Peggy Lazarus wasn't her real name. Maybe she would have been another Carl moll... Rebecca Hollen never did get her due in her soap roles.
    • So true...Hackney might have had a story on FC with Richard being an old lover of his, but reveals herself to be a Cartel member and blackmails Richard with something into doing her dirty work  LOL. But of course Richard had his hands full with the double trouble sisters Ms. Jones and Ms. Braxton that season.
