April 17, 200817 yr Member Clem Egan was listed on PSSN on Monday again... I guess the strike episodes are already over? Or what?
April 17, 200817 yr Author Administrator Clem Egan was listed on PSSN on Monday again... I guess the strike episodes are already over? Or what? Wow that was fast. I guess so? But PSNS wrote so far in advance, so I'm not sure what happened. B&B: - Tracey Ann Kelly back listed as Script Writer on April 17
April 18, 200817 yr Member Once again in SOD Carruthers is doing ALL the talking, this time about May Sweeps. I think B&E are truly in name only now. We can only hope! I think JHC put a muzzle on Aunt Megs and did all of the talking shortly before she was fired too, IIRC.

April 18, 200817 yr Member B&E have not talked once since the strike ended...... I think they are done..... The question is..... who do we get next? LOL
April 18, 200817 yr Member Carruthers did ALL the talking in SID, SOD and SOW this week too BUH BYE B&E......I'd say they're gone it just now needs to be announced(darn it, do it already LOL)
April 18, 200817 yr Member I am anxiously awaiting a message in this thread that says under AMC "James Harmon Brown and Barbara Esensten last listed as head writers....."
April 18, 200817 yr Member If B&E are gone why not Agnes for a couple of months until they can find a GOOD writer who KNOWS the show's HISTORY!
April 18, 200817 yr Member I actually think B&B was better last year when Alden WAS NOT apart of the writing team. The show rocked in Spring and early summer of 2007, but when Alden came, things were already losing steam. I don't know how much of that was her fault or squarely Brad's... Wow, this just made my day! It's precisely what I'm talking about – she messed up the show even further. These 3 sentences were a delight to read!
April 18, 200817 yr Member If B&E are gone why not Agnes for a couple of months until they can find a GOOD writer who KNOWS the show's HISTORY! I can definitely see Agnes taking a short break from retirement and taking an active role in story plans until a new writer--hopefully someone she has hand-picked--takes over. If there's a god, please let that person be Kay Alden. It looks like her time with B&B is winding down, and now would be a great time to snatch her up. I'm sure Agnes would love her for the spot. Now, if only Alden and Frons could sit down and iron out whatever differences they had regarding her bible, and come to some compromise that combines her Bell/Nixon old school style of storytelling with Frons' idea of what a contemporary soap should be. Like it or not, he'll have to have his say. Crossing fingers on both hands for this to happen!
April 18, 200817 yr Member I don't watch B&B so I'm no expert on the show, but from my superficial understanding: Isn't that Brad's style, though? He's really good for a while, and then he fizzles out, and then he's good, and then he fizzles out, and so on and so forth? I thought that was just the cycle of Brad Bell's writing! I think Kay Alden's great. Maybe B&B's style isn't a good fit for her (I would argue that). And yes - I agree with the poster above that Frons should give her a shot at AMC again. It was rare to hear someone so passionate about a show, and in tune with what the fans have been thinking for years. Since B&E were a huge bust, maybe Frons realizes that he picked the wrong, wrong, wrong people to succeed McTavish. Edited April 18, 200817 yr by Kubla Khan

He's the HW/EP. I don't watch B&B so I'm no expert on the show, but from my superficial understanding: Isn't that Brad's style, though? He's really good for a while, and then he fizzles out, and then he's good, and then he fizzles out, and so on and so forth? I thought that was just the cycle of Brad Bell's writing! Exactly. It's a cycle with Brad. He's never consistently good/bad for a long period of time.

He's really good for a while, and then he fizzles out, and then he's good, and then he fizzles out, and so on and so forth? I thought that was just the cycle of Brad Bell's writing! Yes. The bad part of his writing is the infamous trinity: incestuousness, dropping stories on a whim, killing fan favourites which are at the same time great characters. I think Kay Alden's great. Maybe B&B's style isn't a good fit for her (I would argue that). And yes - I agree with the poster above that Frons should give her a shot at AMC again. Since B&E were a huge bust, maybe Frons realizes that he picked the wrong, wrong, wrong people to succeed McTavish. I agree she should write for AMC, as I've said before. I just think she wrote everyting she had for the Bell soaps. AMC was a perfect opportunity for her to change environment and freshen her story ideas.
April 18, 200817 yr Member I think the Alden and ABC ship sailed a long time ago. I don't see her leaving B&B, where she's free from network interference, to go to AMC, no matter how involved Agnes is. The bottom line is, all things lead back to Frons and his "way" of seeing things.....
