Members baller
2 random questions---the writers brought into AMC--do they hold the "Friend of Carruthers" status? Does anyone know when we'll start to see the OLTL writers back?
Administrator Toups Posted April 7, 2008 Author Administrator Share Posted April 7, 2008 I don't think so. Cinquemani never worked with JHC. First week of May.
Members R Sinclair
Oh, I believe it was totally Walsh and Beall -- especially Beall a.k.a. McTavish, Jr.

Members Sylph
I so don't like this decision of eliminating the breakdown writer's position... Now only Goldschmid needs to pop up and that's it.
Administrator Toups Posted April 8, 2008 Author Administrator Share Posted April 8, 2008 Cost cutting measures.....less jobs for soap writers.
Members Sylph
It's so sad, Toups. But nothing I can do about it. Do you know what's going to happen to those Passions writers who are not retiring? Have you heard if some might join another soap opera? I think that the moment someone hears you worked on Passions, they won't want to know anything about you.
Members sheilaforever
I'm really interested in how B&B's credits will look in two weeks or so... Maybe Brad Bell is taking a permanent break and Alden stay hw?
Administrator Toups Posted April 8, 2008 Author Administrator Share Posted April 8, 2008 I love my Passions writers. LOL They write really good humour. And the few times they're allowed to write good drama, they're pretty damn good. No I haven't heard anything about Passions' writers. A lot of them retired (Nancy Williams Watt, Peggi Schibi, Maralyn Thoma) when PSNS went to DirecTV. I think N. Gail Lawrence retired too. Pete Rich is getting up there in age too, i think, so he might retire. I think Marlena Clark, Clem Egan and Shawn Morrison are under 50 so they might still want to work in daytime. Don't know how old Darrell Ray Thomas Jr. is. Of course you can expect to see them again if Jim Reilly gets hired again........
Members Sylph
I think it's quite funny how some of these people were actually a part of acclaimed writing teams in the past, like Thoma and Williams Watt, and they ended up on Passions. Probably it was easy money for them – write some trash and earn some bucks. Sorry, Toups, I just dislike the show and Reilly and the whole of his aesthetics... My blood pressure rises every time think about him! However, maybe some of these younger writers will be able to find some gig. Although I highly doubt it. Members dragonflies
Something's afoot at AMC, it's got to be, reading upcoming spoilers, I really believe B&E are out, the spoilers sound too GOOD to be their writing.....
