Here's who I HOPE the AMC writer who is joining Y&R is.

1. Michelle Patrick

2. Stephen Demorest

3. Chip Hayes

Michelle Patrick well because she rocks. I LOVED Stephen Demorest at GL and ATWT. Also, a lot of people might not know this, but Chip Hayes was a breakdown writer for Y&R back in the 80's.

Didn't Kate Hall join AMC just a few months prior to the strike? Would her contract cycle even be up for her to jump ship to Y&R?

Wasn't it said that Karen Lewis left AMC just as the strike was beginning? It could be her then...

Kate Hall leaves I will be upset, she's one of the show's better writer's. I was hoping she might be headwriter someday for AMC :(

With this, Angie, I can agree. Kate Hall is one of AMC's best script writers -- in my opinion -- in my top and very exclusive Big Three: Michelle Patrick, Joanna Cohen and Kate Hall. Everybody else sucks ass and I do not want Kate Hall leaving (even though I haven't watched AMC since January).

Please, Y&R, take Beall, Bugler, Kanelos, Hayes, Taylor or all of them for that matter!

Please don't tell me it's Marla Kanelos, who worked with Latham on PC and Wild Card. If this writer was hired just before the strike and has a contract cycle to finish, it could very well be her.

I hope it's Kate Hall. She doesn't deserve to be on a show like AMC. I always loved the show, but it's sinking rapidly. Let her show her talent on Y&R. However, if AMC would ever get rid of BE&JHM, then I'm all for Kate staying at AMC. Still, I'm having hard time believing that Esensten and Brown will depart anytime soon. Is everyone on AMC Daytime blind? And deaf?

I think something is up and the rumours I heard were true.

So this new Y&R scriptwriter is a rumour or a genuine information from a reliable source?

1. This AMC writer joined Y&R = Marla Kanelos (Congrats on Alvin for the correct guess)

2. This recently fired DAYS writer is returning = Renee Godelia (Congrats on RavenWhitney for the correct guess)

3. This former DAYS writer (not part of the February firings) is also returning to the show = Rick Draughon

The rumours I heard were some soaps were thinking of getting rid of the breakdown position. It looks like AMC has done that for now. We'll see if it continues.

Don't know if the other soap has gone through with it - we'll see once writers credits returns.
