Members Sylph
I was just waiting for this. I know she or he would fire me. But hey... With this network climate and all, I would never write for daytime. And if these notes are constant and illiterate, Sphinx-like, then it tells one thing: the HW sucks. But I'm thinking a very particular kind of notes. Now that I've given you the reply, what would you do? I know all about Lemay's team, I did a PhD thesis on it. Members Khan
Me? I'd call the HW, lol. I might be terribly foolish in doing so, but I'm going to dig hard until I can get as inside my HW's head as possible and try to envision the material the way he/she does. And then, I'd leave the rest in God's hands. (BTW, Sylph, thanks for answering my question. )
Members Sylph
I presumed. I'd really like to see an example of a f!cked up outline, just to see if I could handle it. And while we're at it – is your covetted positin that of a SW or a BDW? No problem. I just have to remind myself why is it that we "hate" (if we indeed do) each other and why did you disappear all of a sudden at one point in time! You could help me. Members Khan
SW. I'd want to be another Patrick Mulcahey. But what I'd really like to do is direct.
Members GladGirl
I'm not rain1, but I can tell you Leahey absolutely edited the scripts during her run. I'm about 95% sure Beldner does (or did until recently) edit as well. I think the problem with Beldner is he was forced into the editor role, one he DIDN'T want -- he wanted to remain on BDs and as AHW (I think it was good ol' Megan who forced him to make the change, but I could be wrong...) Members Ryan
Co-Sign. Just another reason why I absolutely adore you. I miss R Sinclair's posts too. The intelligent snark that comes from him/her is just.....Sinfully delicious. I found someone who's going to send me Hollyoaks Episodes and let me post them on SOS. JP and I were just talking about the show last night. I really want to get into it.
Members brimike
Ooooo... very cool, Ryan I've wanted to for awhile, but BBC-A never got their act together. Shame too... it would come, it would go, it would come, it would go. I can't wait to check them out on SOS!!!!
Members Sylph
I adore you, too. Sinclair is just a must-read. I sorely miss his posts, hopefully when Pratt's work starts airing, he will become more active. Thank you, GladGirl. But if Jeff Beldner does not like the role, why doesn't he just step down? And how can you promote someone to be a SE if he/she doesn't like it? That just boggles my mind. To direct?! What?! I thought you were an aspiring writer! Members Khan
Actually, Sylph, in a so-called perfect world, I'd like to do both. Sort of like Gary Tomlin, who wrote for SANTA BARBARA and directed for ANOTHER WORLD simultaneously. Whether I both write and direct for the soaps, or I use one career to support me while pursuing the other (I've always wanted to write a Broadway play, for example), that's up to God. These days, however, I find myself itching to do the latter, at least as far as soaps go. (I admire the work of Billy Wilder, but I have no intention of filmmaking.) I think good direction is important to soaps, since there are actors working currently in the business who clearly aren't receiving any.
Members dm.
Grant A. Johnson directed the July 1 episode of Y&R. That's new.
Members LondonScribe
Former Days Of Our Lives director (or freelance) Did he not disappear roughly around the time Hogan Sheffer (and most of his team) was sacked?
Members sheilaforever
Here we go again with the influx of "new talent" to Y&R - freelance or not - I'm sick and tired of it. Johnson has some Bell history though: http://imdb.com/name/nm0425166/
Members Y&RWorldTurner
I've said it before that Ron C is nothing special, but he's giving OLTL fans what they want. He's using characters that previous regimes have backburned or ruined, he's using history in his plots, and he develops new characters OK. Do I personally think he's Christ's second coming, like some seem to think? No. Is he doing an alright job given his craptacular script writing team and ABC micro-management? I believe so. Then again, I don't owe you definitive answers, as you don't give them to me.
Members Y&RWorldTurner
Why the hell is Y&R getting all of these former Passions directors all of a sudden? Talk about weirdness. Josh Griffith is a horrible show-runner, I can't wait until Barabra Bloom (who I can't stand either) gets his ass fired later this summer. Grant A. Johnson also directed a few episodes of GH and has an Emmy for being there. I guess coupled with his limited Y&R and B&B experience, he's not too bad. Members Sylph
I just mirror your behaviour: you never cite your sources, so I decided to do the same.
