Is anybody else here not watching soaps

If I were to grade the current quality of each of the soaps, some would get F's, and none would get higher than a C. For this reason, I have not been watching any of the current daytime soaps on a regular basis. Sadly, it seems that there is nobody longer capable of writing a decent soap opera; instead, all of the soaps produce garbage or near garbage.

I know that a lot of folks here are fed up with the sorry state of the genre. However, I am wondering if anybody else here--aside from myself--is so disgusted to the point of choosing not to watch any of the daytime soaps on a regular basis.

Before I conclude, I want to say that there may be some people who feel that we should watch soaps despite the fact that quality is bad. Such individuals reason that we should be watching simply to support the dying soap genre. Unfortunately, I don't subscribe to this line of thinking. Quite frankly, if a soap gets cancelled because one-time loyal soap viewers no longer watch, then so be it. The fact of the matter is that given the drivel that has been produced for nearly a decade, I would not be terribly sad if all of the soaps went off the air tomorrow.

I'm watching more of my 3 fav soaps (DAYS, ATWT, B&B) then I've been doing for the past months. I usually watch most of the episodes during the weekend. But now I'm watching the episodes during the weekdays cause I'm actually longing for them, especially DAYS-eps.

I'm not watching much. I still have DOOL and Y&R on the DVR, but I blow through an entire week them on the weekend in less than a hour. OLTL is off of the DVR. I'm done with OLTL. It is all about pandering to the internet.

Not really, mostly because the two soaps that are my linchpins - Y&R and AMC - are so horrible. I've watched pretty much every soap on the air over the years - GL during the Nancy Curlee years and during the Annie Dutton story; GH during the Labine/early Guza era; ATWT during Marland, Broderick, and Sheffer; DAYS during the first Reilly era; OLTL during the Malone and Labine years; B&B on and off throughout the years.

But, at the end of the day, Y&R and AMC are like home to me. I've watched both since the late '80s. And they are both unrecognizable to me right now. I can't bring myself to watch them. And they are the only shows I'd really have *any* inclination to watch right now.
