Members ljacks13
SOD - December 4 2007 issue Tom Pelphrey (Jonathan Randall) Pelphrey is set to reprise his role in 2008 when Jonathan comes home to Springfield to resolve some unfinished business with Alan (Ron Raines). SOW - December 4 2007 BACK! Guilding Light confirms that Tom Pelphrey will return to the show as bad boy Jonathan in 2008. "Look for him in the new year when Jonathan comes back to resolve some unfinished business with Alan," hints a show rep. Pelphrey was last seen on August 2, when Jonathan dropped by to comfort Reva after Dylan's car accident.

Members RoseVioletDaisy
I know! DK's obsession with Jonathan is akin to Frankenstein's obsession with his monster. He really needs to get over it. Just thinking about him coming back is giving me flashbacks to the excruciating two and a half years in which he totally dominated the show. Members Khan
Except, even Frankenstein realized he had to kill the s.o.b. Kreizman? No such luck.
Members koos
As far as I'm concerned, he was pretty much the only reason to watch the show back in 2004-2006. It was only excruciating when the ridiculous baby/Lizzie storyline started. *shudder* TPTB ran Jon into the ground with repetitive writing and out of character BS (something they're still doing with everyone else... go figure!), but his strength as an actor (IMO) always shined through. I can't believe Pelphrey would even think of returning after the way they wasted him in 2006.

Members Josh
I just hate how everyone leaves daytime (Eden Riegel, Stephanie Gatschet and Tom Phelprey) with the intention of "Leaving soaps to see what the world has for them" only to realize, it's not all that it is cracked up to be and then head back...oye! Members Khan
Yeah, but in Pelphrey's (and especially Gatschet's) case, have they really even left? To me, the point of leaving the soap world to test the waters elsewhere, is that you actually test the waters. Aside from a blink-and-you-missed-it appearance on "Num3ers," I don't think Pelphrey has even gone anywhere near the lake, much less dove in. Members Josh
That was my point! Don't say you want to leave daytime behind because you want to test the waters and make your time spent there only look like some training or bull crap....if you want to leave go then, because for every TP or SG or ED there are a half dozen actors/actress who respect daytime and enjoyed having a job that are no long on our TV screens! Members JackPeyton
I actually dont minds some returns for a few days - like ER to AMC - when it fits as in for weddings, funerals, and holidays. it adds a relaisitic angle because im sure we all have familys or we ourselves go home for such events. Members miss wolf
TP always said that he would have no problem coming back if they asked him. So TPTB obviously did. He never said anything bad about the show or the cast/crew, so I don't see a problem. And the thing he wanted to do most was theater. Pretty difficult when you're on contract and work almost every day. He did a play and I'm sure he's auditioning a lot. And really, what's the difference between him coming back for a few weeks and Daniel Cosgrove or DAM (and he was actually fired!) coming back? What I'm afraid of is that the baby storyline destroyed Jonathan's character so much I really don't want to see what DK and EW will do with him now...These idiots have already destroyed so much of the show. Members Kwing42
If you do not like the show and do not watch the show, move on for crying out loud. Why do you even bother wasting time complaining about a show you hate and do not watch.
Members Greg's GL
I suppose I'm not understanding the Tom Pelphrey hate vibe I'm getting here. IMHO, I will be looking forward to his return, hoping that it isn't as wasted as his last visit was. IA that when Tom was on contract, he was a dominate character and at times, over the top. However, he is a talented young man and with the right Director (unfortunately the one best able to work with him has left the show), is compelling to watch on TV. He's supposedly coming back to tie up some "loose ends". I suppose that means being put back into the baby story with Lizzie.
