I've avoided watching DAYS based on the previews on my DVR, but I'm glad I tuned into today's episode. This sorority storyline is working thus far. All of the people involved can act and it adds some layers to the character of Stephanie. Obviously something happened to Stephanie that caused her undergo such a personality change.

If done right, this story would be very good from an educational standpoint, and possibly repair some of the damage by the mishandled EJ/Sami rape storyline.

I enjoy the sorority story. The acting has been good and I really like the approach. It's being taken seriously and the focus is more on the rape's impact rather then the rape. I would encourage those that tune out whenever these characters are on to at least try it. I think you may be pleasantly surprised. I think the Ed Scott effect has made an impact here because this stry is being treated with respect and is very well done so far.

Love Max saving Morgan and seeing Billie do something is a plus. Stephanie being understanding and letting Max go to Morgan was nice too. Chick being together makes this even better. The actor playing Ford is pretty good and the actress playing Cordy did a real good job. I like her parents being around too. It was all well-done and the vague flashbacks of what happened to Stephanie are creepy. This story could be really good if Days continues to write it this way.

Loved Bo and Hope and Steve and Kayla getting some romance and cute scenes. These are the scenes that were missing from Days earlier this year and this summer. We've been getting them more lately and that is a good thing. Bo helping Steve and Kayla was fun, especially with Hope's reaction. Also, loving Stefano and EJ going after Johnny. I wish Kate would stay out of their business though. She knows they had John killed yet she hangs around there all because she is desperate to keep Lucas around. I think she will come out of this next week though.

Sami and Lucas was sad but I am just glad the divorce has happened and we are going somewhere. I love Lumi but I am just glad the merry go around has come to an end.

Not a bad week. I enjoyed pretty much everything. Wednesday and Thursday lagged for me but not too bad.

Loved Bo/Hope and Steve/Kayla, but didn't like Bo abusing his police powers yet again - and this time against a judge's court order. Granted Stefano pulled strings to get the court order, but that's the kind of thing Stefano does and as a "villian" it's expected. Just because Bo's a Brady doesn't mean it's ok for him to use the department however he wants. I'm not saying EJ should have been able to TAKE his son, but there's no reason he shouldn't have been able to visit for a few minutes with Steve and Kayla there. And he did apologize for breaking in the door and admit he shouldn't have - but based on what he (and we) heard, I accept his explanation.

The sorority storyline... it bothers me which I guess means Days might be getting it right. Stephanie's flashbacks, Cordy's reaction - both are realistic and uncomfortable to watch. Days is making it clear that this is a rape storyline and there's no room for doubt or debate. I'm one of those who believe EJ/Sami was a deal - not a pleasant or nice one - but still a trade where both got what they wanted. Speaking as a woman who's been there, having the option of saying no is huge. Sami did have that options, and there were other things she could have done instead of agreeing. (And now I'm stepping back into not gonna talk about it or debate it mode.)

Stefano... I so think he's up to something huge, and wish he would play his chess games already, so we'd have a clue as to what's going on inside his delightfully twisted mind!

Nice shots of Santo Domingo at the beginning of the scenes involving Lucas and Sami. As much as I hate seeing these two anymore, today wasn't that bad. I do like the way they are handling Lucas in this storyline. He is worried about the outcome of the twins while growing up. I wish they would name the daughter. We have Johnny. Does the other one just get neglected? And please, don't give fans another chance to choose the names. After Claire and Ciara, we don't need another poll of God-awful names.

I don't like that Kate is associating herself with the DiMeras when they are the prime suspects for killing her good friend John. Kate can hold a grudge like no other, and I would just think that she would be a little more resistant to hang out with this family than she is. She seems to be choosing to stay with Stefano and EJ rather than having any spite towards them. But I do like Joseph Mascolo and Lauren Koslow in scenes together, so I'll take it. Does Stefano know that EJ and Kate had an affair last year?

Was that romance I saw between Bo and Hope? SHOCKING! :o It was definitely nice to see their bedroom again, and them spending some quality time inside of the bedroom rather than at the pub, or off chasing the DiMeras around the damn world. Where have these scenes been all year? These little tiny romantic scenes where the characters just discuss things that have happened while being cute and romantic is needed every now and then. No one is saying to just dish out romance and cute scenes. But every now and then, it adds to the whole production.

I thought it was pretty bright to use the quaranty excuse to stop Stefano and EJ from getting into Steve and Kayla's room at the Salem Inn. I do think EJ has the right to see his son, but I can see where Steve and Kayla are coming from as Sami's aunt and uncle. Sami left them no words to allow EJ to see his son, and since there were no court orders before Sami left the country, Steve and Kayla are just in their decision.

The sorority storyline continues to impress me. I think that the show could have taken a little more time to introduce Morgan and Cordy onto the show, to make fans care about them more than we already do. Luckily for the show, the actresses playing Morgan and Cordy are great and they can take the storyline and go with it and the story sells. That doesn't always happen. I also like Ford, and I wish he wasn't the rapist. I think they could have really went with the Jett route, because it would have been a great twist, and a wonderful and ironic way to write Jett off the show. The man that is supposed to help everyone is the one that is hurting the women. I think that the flashbacks with Stephanie were pretty random and came out left field aside from the one scene we had earlier this week. I'm not that interested in that angle.

    • I read that somewhere too - maybe it was mentioned in that book? I hope it's true.
    • I took a break from Edge of Night to finally start watching this. I watched the first week's worth of episodes. I started off chronologically even though they released the show originally with the Barnabas era first (don't know when he comes in). I had those discs in the complete coffin collection. I'm watching the complete series on Amazon so I hope Amazon doesn't pull a Knots Landing and yank the series before I finish as I don't have all of the beginning episodes. Thoughts: I appreciate the creepy black and white vibe and how everything is so mysterious even when it's just people walking into rooms. I also like seeing actors I know (Louis Edmonds, Joan Bennett, Mitchell Ryan, Conrad Bain (although he might be a cameo), etc.). It was nice to finally see Joel Crothers as I have yet to see him on Edge of Night. Crothers is quite looking so I wish he'd show up on EON. Mitchell Ryan is also attractive. I like how they set up Devlin's animosity towards the Collins family during this week.  We're left to wonder why Roger is so upset. Why is Devlin angry? What happened to Roger's wife? Who wrote to Victoria? Not much has really happened but I'm intrigued. The dialogue is certainly not on the level of EON. It amuses me they leave bloopers in. Bennett in particular struggles with doors. Was this filmed live?

    • @BoldRestless @fivethej Apologies for the late reply! But yes as far as I know I do still have the tape. I remember asking for instructions on this wayy back in 2020, but I will definitely reach out. Only issue is I know my VHS tape collection is in my basement, which looks like the Chancellor mansion attic at the moment.

Also I while I still have DVD/VHS combo player do they even hook-up to modern TV sets or still need a CRT TV? Just asking as I know some folks being off off guard when trying to hook older equipment like some VHS sets and older game consoles quite unsuccessfully
    • It's evident that there was reset of Derek and Ashley's storyline. The attempt to build tension over Derek not resting enough after being injured on the job was not working but the tension over moving in together is. The characters are still not thrilling, but today they at least were worth paying attention to. The writers do want Ashdre and they are easing toward it again.
    • Yes, I believe that is the case. ABC wanted Siobhan and Joe to be a very popular couple and apparently didn't think Sarah Felder was glamorous enough. I don't know if this story is true, but I heard somewhere that Felder told everyone off at her farewell party because of the reason she was fired. If it's not true, it should be!

    • And so it's Andre and Ashley again? Why don't they go ahead and make something bad happen between them? I don't trust the stereotypical vibe. I don't.
    • I guess neither Stephanie or Leo are ever going to investigate the gaping plot holes in the Bob-ette storyline. Other random Thoughts for Thu If Sophia was going to leave Tate alone after he was faint and had a fever, thank goodness she's not planning on raising a baby! Finally, Xander expressed that this situation with Philip was not Victor's desire.  Victor clearly wrote his desires in his will right before he died, and those plans did not include Philip at Titan. I can't with the laws of Salem.  Adults with nut allergies can sue for negligence when they eat a bakery known for using pistachio in their scones, but people discuss insider trading and kidnapping like it is no big deal. It is so simple to research why they have no standing to sue to Sweet Bits (regardless of what the server said). I ignored Brady and Kate being on the board, because that was plausible.  But, Abe is on the board of directors?  That's a stretch. I'm staying mum on Versavix for today, I've had my say....
    • I do love that the episode ended with Kat exclaiming when she was alone "Gotcha!"
