THis is random and more about some past eps but re Krystal and the Comeback... What kinda place does she want ti to be? it used to be the place for characters to go get drunka nd rough it up a bit when they didn't wanna hang out in respectable places like the Yacht Club or Pine Valley Inn's bar... Krystal--who used to love dives liek that herself and Hell got so drunk she married Adam, instead takes over and seems to spend half of her time watching what people drinka nd telling them they're cut off! I'm nto that heavy a drinker but I'm serious I'd stop going to a place like that where if you're having a bad day AND give the owner your car keys they still cut you off (re Greenlee). I know I'll get flak for this but she comes off as a spoilsport...

I know exactly what you're talking about. I was thinking the exact same thing.

I think it's a case of the writers trying to have their cake and eat it, too. They're trying to have The Spermbank, The Cumback, The Comeback be this down home, soul food, kick of yer heels and relax dem dogs kinda place -- but also, they're trying to have Krystal be Queen Mother of All that is Right and Good -- trying to unskankify her, as it were. So, of course, she's going to be the moral police, the liquor police, the parenting police, the teenager police, the sex police... having all the right answers, dispensing all of these countrified pearls of wisdom, and gettin' in other characters' business with extremely judgmental slash hypocritical comments...

It's a ploy. The whole Krystal Used to be a Whore -- But She's Got a Heart of Gold thing that the writers have been trying to do with Babe these past four years.

Haha - actually I was questioning this awhile back too. I understand her cutting off UNDERAGE Ava, but cutting off Greenlee, even when she had a safe drive home was ridiculous considering her initial premise of The Comeback was for people to get crazy drunk and be happy (a la the Trucker's Party every Christmas).

I still reallllly love the family scenes and overall goodness that comes from most of the scenes there. I really enjoy her motherly influence over Colby too. I just love Krystal so much right now, and if that's the writers' agenda, then I'm falling for it hard!

    • The black and white episodes of the show are very special. An atmosphere the color run loses. Dark Shadows was filmed live-on-tape. They could do a retake but it would be very expensive. I think there was a claim that if actors wanted a retake they would curse. There was also a rumor that at one point Joan Bennett accidentally said "Hollywood" instead of "Collinwood" and that necessitated a retake.

    • Loved this IG post from Ambyr about how she and Trisha work together. You can tell these ladies go above and beyond the script, and that they really trust and enjoy working together. https://www.instagram.com/reel/DJpJufFPOQ2/?igsh=MXBmcWs0YzIwaXVhNA==

    • It is a shame that more characters didn't go the ATWT-Barbara route and make the ingénue into an antagonist. Sort of like they did with Liza/Hogan/Sunny, less successfully. It is a credit to ATWT's creativity that breathed life in that character for years after she was fighting off bulls in Spain.  But, a character like Liza can only have so many true loves and high jinks on the high seas.  They need another reason to be in the story. Liza's wealth, as well as her acumen to see through fraud, was fertile ground for tons of stories.  But, I feel like the business stories for Liza were always about her being easily overwhelmed, rather than exploring things like her leadership and managerial skills.
    • STFU!! Dante!!! This nonsense of blaming Gio is just ridiculous! Alexis and Lucky are becoming so unlikable. Why are the writers writing these characters so poorly?
    • Keith still comes off younger to me. I thought he wasn't that bad for his first day.
    • To be fair, they were only recently step-siblings.  Their parents married within the past few years.  And, Draper's father Ansel was not coy about the fact that he married Raven's mother, Nadine, for the money. And, Raven's sort of sticking it to April that not only can she have a baby (April has a heart condition that makes it difficult for her to carry a child to term), she could also have April's man, if she wanted him.
    • Keith D Robinson is 49. Maurice Johnson is 46.
    • I hope they give him more to do than just be a prick as you say. I can see how viewers would like him because the actor is so charming despite the character being such an absolute pain.    I would agree. And there was also the undercurrent of Raven and Draper sort of flirting with each other. The actors play that attraction and it worked so well in that scene.
    • Daniel Cosgrove is PERFECT as the sleezy politician. This might be my favorite role of his. All of these people keeping Kristina’s secret is so annoying. I really want her to pay.
