OLTL: Possible spinoff, after all?

I've been saying for years now that a OLTL spin-off that focuses on THE PALACE could be good. The show could basically be like a model day Hotel; focusing on the staff, the guests, etc., etc. Patricia Elliott could star as Renee.

The only thing is, though, is that if they do spin-off OLTL...unlike with Nightshift, I wouldn't want 50% of the OLTL cast involved. That's why the first few episodes of Nightshift looked like out takes from GH. I say Renee, plus one or two minor OLTL characters, and that's it. Let the rest be all new players.

It would be easy to do, and I know how I'd do it.

And no, you don't focus it on the Palace or BE. You focus it just on the community, on Angel Square and surrounding areas. That goes back to the core of the show, just like the hospital on NS.

Oh AMC would probably get CamMat to stay by giving him a spin off *gags* I can see it now "All My Laverys" It wouldn't be much different than what AMC has been for the past few years except that it would be 59 minutes of Ryan *gags again*

AMC should do one for Cambias or The Season's East Casino and set it after dark or something.

I can imagine what OLTL could do. I mean the LPD having a spin off, I can see John McBain on both shows like Steve Burton is with GH and NS

I agree that AMC would not really work as a spinoff. The show is still not very strong and what would the storyline or center of it be? They don't have a hospital setting with strong characters like doctors, nurses, etc. They don't have a police setting. The only thing that they really have is Fusion and that is already featured WAAAAAAY too much anyway. How interesting would it be to see a bunch of girls whose IQ drops 50 points the minute they step into the office?

There is just no center for AMC that would work, IMHO. OLTL would be a better choice because they could do police/detective drama and it seems like the stronger show of the two right now.

There doesn't need to be a spinoff that focuses on Angel Square or the LPD, because both are already heavily put on display on regular OLTL. It would basically be more of the same. A spinoff series should build on characters, an entity or angle that either isn't very focused on or hasn't been fully developed.

The LPD is already far too featured, but Angel Square isn't. The problem that OLTL faces is that they already have a number of new characters slated to arrive and be developed without adding the new ones the spinoff would require, wherever they center it. With a new writing staff, the cast and characters will most likely be in flux (hopefully Carlivati will be returning many to at least slightly resemble their former selves.)

    • Uh, yeah, huh?!!! Seriously, that was a brilliant line but its acumen is strictly from how hilarious. We imagine Joss in Carly's kitchen breaking the news that she's realized she's gay & Carly is unconcerned & then drops that it's Emma she's in love with ... time comes to a screeching halt!!! I think Moss would likely be thrown hard against the wall. Can you imagine Carly & Robin as mothers of the brides together?
    • @DRW50 Thanks for these. The shoulders and sleeves are too tight. He'd benefit from a larger size. The yellow arrows show where the shoulder cut should actually be placed in my opinion. I don't mind the granpa fashion per se, I just have an OCD with sizes LOL
