Gwen mentioned it was good seeing Barbara come down on Margo and getting her spirit back. She was referring to what Barbara had said about Margo when Barbara was saying she wanted to set up a trust fund for the baby and Will pointed out that his hadn't worked out so well. Barbara said:

The other Katie think that struck me really funny was at the construction site, here is Carly doing chest compressions and Katie is saying here let me help, "I've worked in a hospital." Hey Fluff, wasn't you main job emptying bed pans? I don't recall you saving any lives. I couldn't believe that line!

Of course Terri is gorgeous and talented... and I for one know she didn't write the storyline..

Terri in interviews has said that she liked the storyline she was given...but then again, if it's for an interview, she may have said that not to sound negative if in fact she didn't like it at all.

I would much rather have Terri in something where she's not always pining over a man that she's never going to have or with a man that is going to split on her.

I swear, Katie said she was seconds away from gettin' that ring on her finger.

And Teri might be the nicest person in the world. And she didn't write her story, but she's kind of invited criticism her way. She can complain all she wants about the story, but I don't think she's eeking out any new depth in Katie either.

From the way she's talked, she's had no problem being in the Carjack storyline. She just doesn't want to be perceived as the "heavy". I guess this never really occurred to her in the Mike/Jen/Henry storyline.

She did say she was "two seconds" away from getting that ring on her hand. That's what I thought it was and I double checked the transcripts.

And I agree Terri has invited criticism. She has defended Katie in that she says Jack has moved on and Carly should understand that, all the while forgetting that Mike had moved on and Katie didn't accept that. I think she would like Jack and Katie to be a real couple and I think she hopes it would make them as popular as Carjack is, which would never happen. In every article she does she mentions how difficult it is with the fans not liking her character. It really upset her when some of the Matie fans turned on her. At first I felt sorry for her, but now she mentions it in every article and I can't feel bad for her any more and now it annoys me when I see that. I think she would be better off is she just embraced Katie's flaws and said but it is so much fun to play a character like that. Try to make her a character people love to hate rather than trying to get everyone to love her. I do know she had commented last fall that she had told the writers she just couldn't play Katie like this if they didn't have her grow up. Well now it seems she has bought into the hype that Katie has matured and I for one, just don't see it.

Terri just needs to STFU and adopt the Maura West plan of "no comment" or "I just play what's written" and stop it at that. That's one thing I have always admired about Maura. Even when Carly's at her worse, you never find her all over the soap press whining and looking for sympathy because the fans don't like something her character's doing. I was extremely shocked when Maura did finally express her displeasure with the Simon/Carly story that had Carly abandoning her children. And I think even then, she was kind, non-accusatory and not once whiny about the fans turning on her. Now that's a real pro.

And what truly boggles the mind is that she doesn't seem to "get" that Katie has been disliked by the fans for a long, loooooooooong time, long before they threw her in the middle of the soap's most popular couple...Carly and Jack. That just added to the annoyance factor with this character. She had maybe one VERY loving and loyal group of fans who supported her and that was the Matie fans....until they felt betrayed by her with all her Paul Leyden/Simon pimping for his latest return.

So, she should just suck it up and be a professional about it. Her character is extremely disliked by a majority of the fans and it started a long time before Jack was even a factor. To listen to her whine in the soap mags lately you'd think she was this much beloved character until the mean ole Carjack fans turned on her.:lol:

That's just it...Katie isn't mature around anyone but Jack. She says all the right things to Jack, but the minute she leaves his sight, she's the same scheming, insecure and grasping twit she's always been. The best example? The ring stunt itself. Why is she even with Brad to overhear this "wrong number"? Because she decided to teach Brad a lesson about messing with Kack. Katie may deplore being Carly's punching bag, but she's had no problem making Brad hers. Anytime that man looks at her cross-eyed, she's lecturing, humiliating or physically assaulting him.

Ugh...I just rewatched the previews. It looks like Katie's wearing her engagement prize. I guess we're going to speed that wedding along, now that we've overheard Jack's true feelings. It's almost fun knowing she's going to be crushed.

Katie's refused to accept Mike and Simon moving on. I boggle thinking about what she'll do in the face of Jack's "moving on", or "back", depending on how you look at things. :D

How about this idea?

Carly is looking for some dirt on Katie when she accidently discovers dirt on Craig. Turns out Craig is working for James Stenbeck, and it is Stenbeck who is really in charge of Worldwide. As gesture to keep the ruse going, James tells Carly he does owe her one after keeping her in the aging spa. Carly asks him to keep Katie away from Jack. A couple days later, Katie is doing an on location shot for WOAK when a bomb in the news van explodes and Katie is blown to kingdom come. Carly realizes what James has done and is horrified as she races over to Jack's to comfort him. When she gets there, she tells Jack the whole story of what happened. However, instead of Jack becoming angry, he shows a sense of relief and actually says it's a good thing it did happen. As it turns out Jack has been having a recurring dream that Katie cheats on him. "First night it was with Simon, then Mike, then Brad, then Henry, then Bob and so on" Jack explains. Jack realized how Katie had a proven track of bad relationships and was planning on breaking up with her that same day. Carly finds her guilt alleviated and her and Jack end up remarrying. :D

^^^as much as the thought of Katie blown to smithereens warms my heart, I want to see her humiliated. And humbled for her rotten behavior stretching back to screwing over Henry by leaving him on that island with Cooley. ;) Then I just want her to leave town. Even Brad is too good for her, IMO. And Jack needs to come to his senses, without Carly "scheming" to get him back. As far as I'm concerned, his integrity has been compromised by being with that twit. He can't just say "Katie's a good person worthy of my love, but Carly isn't..." NOT when Katie does the same things Carly does...just not to him.

I too want Jack to reunite with Carly without any scheming on Carly's part. I want Jack to finally come to his senses and see Katie for who she really is and to recognize that it is Carly that is still in his heart and that he really wants. I want Jack to remember all of the horrible things Katie has done to his family and friends over the years and realize she isn't changed. And I do want to see Katie humiliated. She does horrible things to people and they just pat her on the head and say that's okay, now what can I do for you? She is always forgiven or with somebody like Mike, he is the one that has to leave town. I would love to see Katie leave town with her tail between her legs! Sadly I think it will be written that she is the "victim" and that we should feel sorry for her. No way is that going to happen! I'm sure she will be rushed into the arms of her 5th soul mate Brad, but they would be better off leaving her alone for a long time.

    • Yes, of course, all of those servants added to the overall picture at AW & also people had relationships with those servants! I like it when Anita asks after one of the servants at the club, how their children are doing & like that.
    • Great scenes between Marlena and EJ today. Paula and Jeanne are making EJ have more depth than Ron had during his long drawn out tenure.
    • Might as well say it, Minority opinion, granted, but I like Joss & I'm okay with this WSB story & i hope that Emma will be their next recruit & she & Joss can be partners.
    • Thanks again @Paul Raven  The Arlene/Ben/Betsy triangle is one I wish I could see for myself as on paper it doesn't tend to excite me but I can see how well-constructed it was. I wish I could see the Rick/Meg relationship too, although I wish they'd had him genuinely fall for Meg after he gets together with Cal. The whole Brooke/Deacon/Bridget story on B&B was horribly damaging to Brooke as a character but it was dramatically very sound because I could completely believe Deacon would fall for messy and vulnerable Brooke after finally settling down with the more docile Bridget.

    • According to the head writer list, it seems the show may have started to fall apart while either the Schneiders or Upton were writing.  And when it started to crumble, it crumbled fast.  It was sad to see everything Labine had brought to LOL be disassembled.

Welcome back!!! And I see Abe and Paulina got a new apartment too, which is just a redress of John/Marlena’s, Steve/Kayla’s, etc. But it looks kinda nice. And I enjoyed his scenes with Chanel. It added another perspective to everything that’s been going on with her and Johnny. And Abe using his own history with Lexie to comfort Chanel was a good idea. Plus, it also provided us with more suspicion/red herring about Johnny possibly shooting EJ. I’m looking forward to see what happens between her and Johnny. And I’m so glad that the two of them are on the frontburner now.  Speaking of Johnny, I still have no problem with him going to work for Titan. The drama could be so good, especially once EJ finds out. To me, it seems like another realistic reaction to everything that’s been happening to Johnny lately. It doesn’t seem random and over the top either. And I like that they remembered to have Johnny tell Xander that he has no corporate experience whatsoever. Surprisingly, the two of them work well together. And so do Carson and Deidre. I love how the Marlena/Johnny relationship has been featured so much.  Kayla was still strong and kicking ass today too. The writer change has helped her/Mary Beth so much. But I do admit we should’ve seen Steve trying to get into Dr. Russell’s lab rather than Kayla instructing him over the phone.  And unfortunately, Chad and Cat still don’t seem to be doing much for me though. The cliffhanger was ok too.   Btw, Days was trending at #4 this morning on Peacock
