I loved the Santo/Collen scenes it was so romantic and James and Ali were both very emmy nominated today. I am looking forward to the love story of these two its the best romance on the show and I always love historical romantic stories.

Both of the accents from the two were divine. Everything for Santeen sl today sizzled what a great romantic sl!

I totally agree with you. I enjoyed John and Marlena, Bo and Hope and Doug and Julie. They were so natural and there was just something about them that caught my attention. But it had nothing to do with the story. I hear we get a few more seconds of them tomorrow.

I was okay with the accents....but the whole Colleen/Santos story......boring!!! I also agree that the the Cwickly & Brash feud story sounded like it could have been awesome...everyone had something of their own and secrets they knew or didn't know about.....this one..is there really any mystery? I don't feel any.

The Beach kids do nothing for me. I don't have a problem with Chelsea, Nick...it's just their story another..zzzzzzz.

I didn't find today's episode all that boring. I really liked the flashbacks, Ali and James were incredible and really convincing. Doug, Julie, John, Marlena, Bo, and Hope all reading the letters was a fans dream come true to me. Hogan is really trying to weave them into this storyline some way.

I disliked the fact that they waited til the end of the episode for Nick to tell Chelsea that Kate was blackmailing him. These two have been a downer for me, I just don't understand what Hogan has against these two.

Tomorrow looks good for me.

Well, I didn't care for the lecherous, porn-mustached, married man hitting on a nun, but I really enjoyed watching the Salemites enjoy the letter. It was wonderful to see these happily married couples-- Doug/Julie, John/Marlena, Bo/Hope, and Lucas/Sami-- just hanging out and relishing their time together. All four couples have overcome so much to be together, and here they are, united and happy even if Lumi are stuck in a safehouse.

Lucas, I thought, was the only one who treated the icky content of the letter as it deserved. I adored his commentary today:

"A quickie in the confessional?"

"That's why the DiMeras are after the Bradys -- because of the great handkerchief rebellion. I got it now."

"So because of some cheesy Italian accent, your great-aunt -- trampy great-aunt -- broke her vows?"

"Why don't you just get to the part where the guy gets the girl in bed, okay?"

"This is not some skin flick on late-night cable. This is a letter written by a woman devoted to God and her faith."

"And a little Italian seasoning on the side."

Go Lucas!

I didn't see any of that from Lucas. He was Fat Bastard in my eyes. I think his IQ dropped a few points below the hammer. It's amazing but although BD toned down Lucas' vocal chords, the writing still made him look like an immature loser.

I don't think I've ever seen a character destroyed as quickly as Nick. What happened to quirky, sweet, fun Nick? He's such a downer right now and what's with pushing Chelsea to have sex in her dad's house with a bunch of people hanging around the back yard? He needs to get a grip, stand up to Kate, and get some therapy for his self-esteem issues. And lighten up! It's a testament to Chelsea's character growth over the last year that she hasn't dumped him yet.

What's with Jett's pretend engagement? Is he covering something up? Is he the bad guy instead of Jeremy? And Stephanie made me mad today when Jeremy was slamming Steve, and she barely defended him. I would never let anyone talk about my dad that way.

Loved seeing Bo and Hope and Doug and Julie. Marlena and John were okay, but I'm getting tired of them lustfully gazing into each other's eyes all the time. Give them something to do! Marlena's had some good stuff, but John has been sidelined for most of the Dimera stuff, which is very odd considering his past.

Hated Lucas today. How old is he--twelve? And sorry if I've insulted any twelve year olds. Food and sex seem to be all he's interested in, and I'm bored with watching him.

Santo and Colleen were okay. Obviously, this is just the beginning of the story and more will happen to explain the feud. There is a certain ick factor, though. An experienced married man and a young, innocent novice (LOL at Bo constantly correcting everyone who called Colleen a nun)--I'm not seeing the romance factor here, at least not yet. Ali did a pretty good job with the accent; better than James with the Italian accent, I thought.

I just finished watching on SoapNet. While I thought it was an okay episode, I have to be honest. So far, I am thoroughly bored with this Dimera feud story. It's already nearing mid-July and I have yet to be fully engrossed in what is going on. If *this* is the big jubalooba story of the summer, then we're in trouble.

Regarding the Colleen/Santos story, how high I grade it depends on what I am grading it on.

As a historical romance, it is off to a solid start. It looks much better than the early days of Emily and Gideon did, and it is bringing some romance to show that currently has none. Lucas is anything but romantic, and much like Shawn, I can't help but wonder why the guy is still around. Write off their characters or recast, but give up on the idea that Dattilo or Beemer will ever make popular romantic leads.

Now, as the underpinning for the Brady/DiMera feud, the story is much weaker. It is going to have to be shored up quite a bit to be sufficient justification for the decades of horror that the DiMeras unleashed on the Bradys.

Today was really boring. The Santo/Colleen scenes started off really corny and it was hard for me to take this whole s/l seriously. If this is what we're going to be getting the rest of the summer, well I better find another soap to watch. I did think that Ali did a good job with her accent knowing how busy her summer already is.

Bo/Hope/Doug/Julie/John/Marlena were okay with the brief scenes they got. Sami/Lucas were acting like a typical couple. Cute and very real. Lucas was very funny today lol.

Nick/Chelsea are slowly but surely being destroyed. Sigh. I had huge hopes for them. The rest of the teen scene sucked.

Luckily, EJ and Johnny, and pretty much every other character saved today’s episode.  I didn’t expect Javi to be the one to save Sarah though, and I don’t mind it at all, because if it means that Javi is finally going to get his own identity/character, away from his douchy bf, I’m all for it. Javi’s scenes would’ve been a lot better had it not been for him. EJ and Johnny were the best part of today. Their conversation hit a lot of important beats and I’m so looking forward to seeing them play out. And now that EJ knows that Johnny is going to work for Xander, that opens up another dynamic to their storyline and to the Kiriakis family storylines as well. Tying them all together could be really good. There are so many story possibilities that can come out of this. And I thought Carson Boatman did a pretty good job again too.  I also liked that Johnny was there to comfort Chanel after everything that happened with Sarah. They’re so good together. But I do have mixed feelings about Chanel possibly forgiving Johnny so quickly. Hopefully, the question that she asked him at the end of today leads to more conflict for the two of them.  And yeah, still no changes in Alex’s character lol
    • Awesome, thanks so much for taking the time to grab this episode. I had a quick review of your rip because I was curious why it was 700MB and 30 minutes. The first 10 minutes of the episode is 3169 (opening credits at 5 minutes and again at 15 minutes). I thought we had the full HD version of ep.3170 on the YouTube channel, but it appears they added the wrong episode but labelled it 3170.

    • Well, since I'm still up unexpected past my growing-into-it bedtime. lol.   I finally got to rewatch Monday's. I even rewatched Friday's to take it all in. Now that we got the reveal and hit the climax of the SilkPress Sheila storyline, now we get to watch the aftermath and/or turns that come with its climax. So far, so good. Friday left us with three cliffhangers. And what I found surprising was how I felt about them over a rewatch.    I know some of you all felt a way about the dialogue during Kat vs Eva. I remember liking it more the first time around and it was nice for them to have these scenes to establish more of a frenemy vibe for them going forward. That still held up. But I found myself agreeing with you all about that dialogue. lol. Still, it was nice to have both of their POVs.   Second up was Silk Press Sheila vs the Duprees. And I was happy to get a brief spat with Dani in there. But the rest standouts for me was Anita and Martin. Haters can hate and given the tail end of the episode, I will agree to a fault, but Brandon has impressed and he was on fire on Monday and had great subtle work on Friday. And that subtle work made it all the better. Like I believe I said when I was watching...BC has a much better grip on his character and seems to be realizing what his tics are so has started to be able to know when to turn it up and when to dial it down. And for the most part (emphasis on most), he got that. Meanwhile, TT was giving fierceness, and I was here for every minute of it. Her reading SilkPress. Her being quip about it. Her 'BE STILL.' Ooooo she had a chokehold on me as Anita gave what I was expecting her to SilkPress. WORTH THE WAIT. I also loved Vernon's CHOOSE SILENCE. I wonder though if SilkPress will figure out Martin's condition from her observing Anita and Vernon with him.   And speaking of worth it...Oooo YES Nicole vs Ted was worth totally worth it. Oooooo I knew DD would nail it, and it was all so well done. The fight between the part of Nicole who is a therapist vs Nicole as a woman who wants to express how she feels. And being so angry. And how there would be moments when it would shoot out of her. And how she would restrain herself. But how she felt she should not be restrain. Just the levels of processing and layers. And DD played it all so well. I do wish Maurice gave just a little bit more, but overall, I thought he did a good job even if it was just Ted coming across as a deadbeat and not at all redeemable. And Kat being there for her mother was so beautiful.   Minority, but I love the montage though yes, it did run a little long. Given how the Duprees like to bond (and also as I mentioned from my own very recent family experiences), it did not seem out of place to me.     That said...let's see how the aftermath worked in today's episode. Overall. Cuz RC can be hit or miss.
    • I wonder whose brilliant (

) idea it was to do an almost complete rip-off of the "who killed Tom King"-storyline. That's some quality style writing right there.....
