May 25, 200718 yr Member Are they killing Asa off for good in their secret story for the 10,000th episode? SOW's Revolving Door: Wanted! OLTL is scripting a secret story for its 10,000th episode and the show wants Dan Gauthier, James DePaiva and Tonja Walker along with a few others back. SOW is hinting that it is a life-changing event that will affect the Buchanans forever.
May 25, 200718 yr Member Asa But dang ... Tonja, Dan and James? HOLY CRAP. I'd watch that no matter what. They had me right there. Max has all but been forgotten.
May 25, 200718 yr Member FYI...it looks like that, barring any pre-emptions, that the 10,000th episode of OLTL should air on Monday, August 20th.
May 25, 200718 yr Member Sounds like they are thinking about killing Asa off. It sure sounds like it. At least hopefully this will mean the returns of Tonja Walker Davidson(Alex), Dan Gauthier(Kevin) and James DePaiva(Max). I hope that Kevin and Max both return permanently!
May 27, 200718 yr Member If James DePaiva and Dan Gauthier return, I predict that Farah Fath's character will be a SORAS'd Lesley Holden and I predict also a re-cast of Kelly Cramer. My picks for a possible new Kelly are Christie Clark (ex-Carrie Reed, DAYS), Tamara Braun (ex-Carly Corinthos, GH), Lisa-Ann Hadley(ex-Julie Devlin Ramsey, PORT CHARLES) or Amy Grabow (ex-Rachel, GH). But I wish ONE LIFE would get Heather Tom back as Kelly. Edited May 27, 200718 yr by Mulder
May 27, 200718 yr Member If I were Dan, I'd tell OLTL to kiss my natural ass. Me too, or make me a very good offer. I wish they'd realize their idiotic mistake and make him a great offer for him to return. I still want Dena Higley and Frank Valentini out too. Someone needs to correct their big mistakes including the basically firings of Phil Carey(ex-Asa) and Renée Goldsberry(ex-Evangeline), as well as Dan and Heather Tom. May 28, 200718 yr Author Member Do we know that they are talking contracts or is this more of a one day appearance / stunt? If I had to guess I'm thinking it's a one day stunt and nothing more. If it is Asa's funeral I hope PC asks a kings ransom to use his clips. Can you imagine Asa's funeral and no pictures of Asa? I also agree with those who say DG should tell them to kiss his ass or cough up a fat contract. ETA: Max, Leslie, Kevin and Kelly back would be a wonderful thing ( that means JDP, DG and HT). You could actually get excited about watching again. Edited May 28, 200718 yr by cal3
May 29, 200718 yr Member If there is any truth to the rumor, it proves to me yet again that the show has no vision and no one really in charge. Phil Carey is no longer on contract. I'd hope they are talking to him about some type of guest stint for this story...or will we be treated to a memorial service without even Phil Carey's picture somewhere? Someone should have been watching the episode count. Someone should have known they'd need a big event or really good story about the 10,000 episode. Someone should have figured out long before now that Phil Carey is aging, and won't be around forever to play Asa. It's not like its a news flash the Buchanans were a core family for many of those 10,000 episodes or that Asa's departure will leave a big gap in the canvas --- even if he isn't a big hit in the teen and tween age group. They really should have had a backup patriarch built years ago. Asa is not a character who would slink quietly into the sunset, as much as Dena might prefer it. His meddling in the lives of his kids and enemies is part of what made the character. It's a great opportunity for family-centered, historical story (which is why I think they should confiscate Higley's pen and give at least this story to those highly paid consultants they reputedly are ignoring). If Dena wrote it, Asa would probably die blessing Evangeline and Todd. Why couldn't or didn't they they come up with the $$$$ or contract to keep Phil Carey as Asa around long enough for the story? And why oh why are Higley and Valentini still employed?
May 31, 200718 yr Member OLTL producers are treating some people from the cast like trash. They just let them go and won't even make a deal. This is bad. If I were Phil Carey, I definitely wouldn't return. And second of all, I think the 10,000 episode shouldn't be marked with someone's death. The 10,000 is a chance for celebration, not sadness. But everything is possible.
June 1, 200718 yr Author Member Interesting column Scotty. At this point there isn't much left to say about the state of OLTL.
