So, today's show was not good at all, way to much focus yet again on Cleo/Jade/Gwen more than half the show again was about them, and this is the fourth day in a row of them. Henry and Vienna while I like them are starting to bore me because it is the same dialogue every-time they are on, they need to move on with there storyline. Katie/Brad/Jack just end it please it is so boring. Tomorrow looks good atleast it looks like the WorldWide storyline will atleast get one airdate this week, and hopefully Gwen/Cleo are nowhere to be seen.

Awesome episode! Katie and Brad are SO HOT together. Things are so simple and cute between the two of them. And its so funny to see Brad mess with Jack like that at the end...I was LMAO during that scene! "Bye Emma! Don't wait up!" Just classic. And while I do also see the chemistry between Jack and Katie things are so complicated there that I just don't think it would work out.

Vienna is so awesome. Her scenes with Maddie were so cute. She truly does care for Henry and its sad that the guy can't see what he needs to do. His loss. Hopefully Vienna can find someone worthy of her affections. Jack perhaps?

OMFG Cleo is scaring the sh*t out of me! This girl has gone nutso in such a short amount of time. Jade is really screwed in this one. And I love Jade and all but I was PISSED that she used Carly to get to Gwen. Thats wrong and its disturbing. Get your own life Jade. Will is NOT the man for you. At least not right now. Stop this sick obsession with Gwen and Will ONCE AND FOR ALL.

Parker and Faith are so cute. I loved their scenes. Oakdales next Supercouple is just magic in the making right now. I can't wait to see more scenes between them. And I'm looking forward to Parker seeing his mother again. The few scenes they had with Carly before she left were so beautiful and well done that I almost cried. All in a great episode. Can't wait for tomorrow to see Paul and Alison...that lil slut thinks Paul is into her!? LOL. Clueless.

I just don't see how Brad/Katie/Jack is boring at all. Its funny. Its got romance and angst. Theres definitely those "moments" that Katie shares with both brothers which makes for a very interesting and difficult love triangle. I love how there not pushing it either. Nor are they favoring one brother over the other. Its being quite well done in my opinion. I can see Katie with BOTH guys but she can only choose one. The drama of it all excites me almost as much as Carly and Simon's romance of last year. And the best part is that I'm starting to enjoy Katie once again. Or at least shes more tolerable when around either of them.

The reason Brad/Katie/Jack is boring to me is because IMO the actor that plays Brad can act at all, and the character is not funny but very annoying to me. I can't stand Katie, so she bores me no matter what. I just feel bad for the actor that plays Jack that has to be involved in this crap storyline. Also the fact that the storyline is in the same place it was in 2 months ago does not help either, there has been no movement in this so called triangle at all, just like I have to see Will and Gwen in a bed every day there is not movement, I am sorry but I cannot enjoy a show that I feel like I have already seen 10 times this month. Henry and Vienna are the same thing anymore, they say the same things daily, it is just plain boring after a while. there was not one moment of Drama in today's show and seeing as this is a drama show that is kind of not a good thing.

I used to like Katie. But Katie is on too much and she is given too much of her share of the story. Obviously she is a favorite of Chris and Jean. Katie can and should spend sometime on the backburner and let someone else have some story. They are going the same way with Gwen too.

Austin Peck is miscast as Brad. Plus, for longtime viewers, this IS not Brad. Like they often do,they have recreated Brad Snyder and longtime viewers who watch day after day, year after year ,(decade after decade :D ) most of them are going to balk.

Katie and Jack aint gonna fly because Jack and Carly belong together. Like Lily and Holden,Tom and Margo,Bob and Kim they are a signature couple. Like Josh and Reva on GL,Hope and Bo on DAYS,Ethan and Theresa on PASSIONS, CarJack belongs together!

Of course, this is MY opinion. I know others have differing opinions. Your emtitled to your own opinion.

Again I say:that is what makes ATWT fans a cut above everybody else!: :) We can disagree and still get along!

Austin Peck is destroying the Katie/Brad/Jack storyline. He may be one of the worst actors I've ever seen on a soap. Ever.

Parker and Faith were great today. They're naturals and I enjoy their scenes.

Cleo - I've gone back to muting her or changing the channel so I don't have to look at her. Between her and Brad, this show is becoming stressful to watch. Not enjoyable at all. I really long for the days when every character was interesting and every actor was at least tolerable.

I did think the Will/Maddie/Gwen scenes were ok.

Henry is always excellent and I loved Margo and Jack too.

Sorry, Helena...but Jordan "Model Material Cold Reader" Woolley & Alyssa "Orange Crate Whiney Cold Reader" Diaz have him beat!

I personally liked Mr. Peck on DOOL. I'm one of the few, yes. But on ATWT, while he's not completely and totally horrific, he is a lot worse!

By the way, DaddyOak, I completely agree with everything you had to say! In fact, I could not have said it better myself! :)

Katie/Brad/Jack is being set up well, but Austin Peck just can't hold up his part of this triangle. He is weak and his scenes seem forced.

Cleo has been on for three weeks and she's already obsessed with Will and stealing Gwen's clothes?

I'm sick of Gwen and Will but it was nice to see them get an email and realize it was Jade and not be complete idiots (Will at least).

Even the Parker/Faith conversation seemed a bit forced to me today.

From the previews, tomorrow will be like watching a completely different show with different characters.

Except Austin Peck can act and I enjoy his scenes everyday. Of course its just my opinion and you're entitled to yours. As for him being miscast are we talking about this whole age issue thing? People get aged up all the time in Daytime so I don't see whats the big problem with Brad being a lot or a little bit younger than he should be. Austin Peck fits the new vision for the character and I'm in love with Brad right now. There is such a thing as taking yourself too seriously and thats what Katie's (not to mention a lot of the viewers) been doing for awhile now. Brad brings out the fun and silly side to her which makes her a lot more interesting to me. If you want to talk one dimensional thats Henry Coleman and his portrayer. All they do is drink martinis, help Katie with some idiotic scheme, and now more recently just go around acting like a sob story. Sorry but Henry is not interesting to me at all. Hes been doing the same thing in Oakdale for a while now and its quite pathetic to be honest. On top of that hes not attractive. Hes not even cute to be honest. Only time I can stand him is when hes with Maddie or Vienna and even then they outshine him most of the time. At least Brad can be entertaining even if he is on the simple side. I don't expect nor need Austin Peck to turn in Daytime Emmy performances every single day but I do enjoy the fresh breath of air and the comedy he brings to ATWT so I'm very glad hes on contract just like I'm sure a lot of viewers are as well.

Carjack is just another diaster waiting to happen. Oh I'm sure they'll get together to please their huge fanbase but I'm equally sure it won't last very long. Perhaps a year or 2. Then its going to be Jack acting all superior again and talking down to Carly like shes an idiot making her feel horrible. I wonder what all the carjack fans will say then. Of course they'll side with Saint Jack and decry Carly as a "horrible mother" because she abandoned her kids one time.

I think we all knew Cleo was off her rocker the moment Jade met the girl so this sudden outburst of insanity isn't really surprising nor should it be. I'd call her insane the moment she stayed in Oakdale instead of returning home. The storyline is really heating though and I can't wait to see the fallout. I just hope Jade doesn't get into anymore trouble. I just wish they'd stop making the character look so bad.

As for the ratings they brought back Scott Bryce and they're STILL the same. So I don't know how you can blame Gwen and Will for the lackluster ratings. The show is great right now and its only going to get better. Its just the times we live in coupled with a lot of other factors as well such as its time spot. As for the drama I have enough in my life without ATWT turning into a show that feels like it has to shock me everyday with drama. Drama is good but its not crucial. Y&R manages to not have drama on air everyday and they're doing fine. Same with other soaps. Today was dramatic for me because I was on edge wondering if Katie and Brad would kiss and have sex and how Jack would react. It dramatic in that all this tension was going on between Henry and Vienna as well as Cleo/Jade and Will/Gwen.

1. Katie is a vicious whore who deserves nothing but pain and eternal suffering.

2. Brad is lackluster. His supposed charming bad boy act (and I use the term loooooosely) is pathetic.

3. Their shtick isn't funny. When I'm supposed to be laughing I'm rolling my eyes so much I can see my brain stem.

LOL....IMO, the problem is less Brad and more about FluffMe. That Brad dishes out THE TRUTH to Jack and Katie is not the problem. The problem is TIIC will do backflips trying to convince us FluffMe has redeemed herself enough to have TWO guys chasing her now-contrite ass is laughable. Playing makeover specialist and Love Doctor doesn't convince me Katie's learned anything. Boo-freakin-hoo...Katie's decided to let Henry love who he wants to love. Here's a thought....let Henry live his own life! Meddling is meddling. I absolutely LOVED that Henry told her to keep her nose OUT of his business...and I don't think his "candles, champagne and a hotel room" line was just about nothing. It seemed to be a direct shot at the last Mike/Katie reconciliation in Chicago, before Jen showed up anyway.

And just as Brad built up credibility (being right that Katie is no where near ready for anything serious), PodBrad showed up, showering her with praise about how far she's come, blah blah blah. LOL...I think all thoughts of Jack flew out of her tiny brain as Brad laid on top of her.

I feel bad for Michael...having to be all dither-y about Katie? Needing Margo to play matchmaker? *roll eyes* It's just horrible.

Parker and Faith were great...but I have to wonder at two children being allowed to be out "late" at night. It's supposed to be after nine (that's when Casey's curfew is) and no one really knows where they are? WTH?

Jade's plan was the most assinine thing ever. And the creepy music during Cleo's fantasy....STALKER.

    • Arguably DAYS OF OUR LIVES has been brilliant lately & definitely was last week. But, here I am with nitpick & technicalities. This was the only misstep but it was just a stupid thing that should have been caught. Deidre Hall as Marlena has this one problematic line, "It didn't matter how many identities you had, I always knew exactly who you were, you were the man who saved my life." - Marlena, DAYS, 6-2-25 Unfortunately the flashback closest to it was when Marlena was on the phone, terrified because she thought he was Stefano. Yes, it's true that the line is not accurate. There were many times when she did not feel the way she is claiming because of whatever was going on in story with his 'retconned to hell & back' identity & origin story. Does it keep the whole week from being called excellent? Nope.

    • I decided this primetime soap deserved it's own thread as the Primetime soaps thread is very cluttered and why shouldn't NBC's Lorimar soap mot have a chance to shine? In doing a deeper dive into the second season ratings I was surprised to see that FR actually had an uptick in the ratings when NBC moved it to 9pm Tuesdays beginning March 82. I'd always assumed this move was a desperate one as NBC were running short of programming and had given up on the show, deciding to let the final episodes play out and be hammered by 3's Company  and CBS Movie. But the numbers paint a different story. In it's 10pm slot up against Hart to Hart, which regularly finished in the Top 20, FL premiered in 53rd place and placed in the 40's and 50's as the season continued. But come January 82 the numbers surged a little now moving into the 40's hitting #43 in Feb. Hart to Hart was #11 Then in March Bret Maverick was moved to 8pm with FR @9. First week 16th March FR #47 15.1/24 3's Company #3 Too Close for Comfort #5 CBS Movie #60 Not great but #2 in it's timeslot March 23 FR #44 15.6/25 3's Company #4 Too Close for Comfort #5 CBS Movie #33 So even with a stronger movie on CBS FR's numbers went up. March 30 FR #31 16.6/26 3's Company #9 Too Close for Comfort #5 CBS Movie #56 Best rating/position yet Tues April 6 pre empted Tues April 14 FR #36 16.0/26 3's Company #5 Too Close for Comfort #11 CBS Movie #59 Maintaining previous week's numbers Tues April 21 FR #33 15.6/24 3's Company #3 Too Close for Comfort #5 CBS Movie #60 Numbers down a little (reflecting general spring downturn) but best ranking of the season so far Tues April 28 FR #35 15.1/23 3's Company #9 Too Close for Comfort #6 CBS Movie #42 Tues May 4 FR #27 15.2/24 3's Company #5 Too Close for Comfort #4 CBS Movie #41 Season finale and highest position of the season. Looking at those numbers I wonder why NBC cancelled the show? They had very few hits and here was a show that was holding it's own and moving up in the rankings in a tougher timeslot. And being a serial, the storylines could continue to build the following season. And I'm sure the desirable W18-49 demo was good. Some might argue that CBS were shower weaker movies, but even so, soap viewers are pretty loyal. I guess Grant Tinker arrived at NBC and wanted a classier look but there was room for FR on the schedule. I mean, the following season Knight Rider,Powers of Matthew Star and the A Team arrived so there was still room for more populist fare. Flamingo could have stayed at 9pm-the replacement Gavilan bombed (surely FR would have done better} or moved back to 10pm. The following Jan NBC had a hit with A Team Tues 8pm. Had Flamingo followed it, it might have really taken off. As it was they tried Bare Essence, which flopped. Oh well,it was not to be...
    • Always, in every way, Cass/Wally/Felicia foundational to my viewing. And, I think if we look at the aftermath of the disastrous 90 minute show that we find too many pockets of some kind of lost time at the show plus way too much of change-ups in exec & writing leadership and of course we also reach the first time it becomes notable that NBC wants to get rid of the show so they can put a new soap they own in the timeslot.

    • Hope you will enjoy the 1976 storyline from the Daytime serial Newsletter. The show had just expanded to an hour so new characters and stories were required. The Soderbergs had been writing since late 73 and the show was still #1. Looking foward to comments and discusssion Pt.1  For over two decades As the World Turns has depicted the events in the lives of two Oakdale families: the wealthy and influential Lowells and the less affluent but equally respected Hughes family. Judge Lowell’s granddaughter Ellen is married now to Dr. David Stewart, whose adopted son, Dan, is actually her own illegitimate child. Dan was once married to Dr. Susan Stewart, by whom he has a daughter, Emily. Dan then married Liz, the ex-wife of his late brother Paul. Liz was the mother of Dan’s daughter Betsy, who believes to this day that Paul was her father. Liz died tragically the day after their wedding. Ellen and David have two daughters, Carolann (Annie) and Dawn (Dee), now of college age. Dan has recently fallen in love with Kim Dixon, who was about to divorce Dr. John Dixon until injuries suffered in a tornado caused amnesia and left her with no memory of her love for Dan. John is using this respite to solicitously convince Kim of his love for her. Nancy and Chris Hughes had three children: Bob, a doctor, Donald, an attorney, and Penny, who, after tragically losing two husbands due to automobile accidents, is now living in Europe, where she is married to a racing-car driver. Bob was married while very young to Lisa Miller, then a scheming and selfish young woman, whose machinations destroyed their marriage. She is the mother of Bob’s son, Tom, who is divorced from Carol, who is now married to Jay Stallings. Tom is currently married to Natalie Bannon. Bob later married model Sandy Wilson, a marriage which ended in divorce, and Sandy is now married to Norman Garrison, who is her partner in a beauty products concern. Norman blames Bob for Sandy’s  recent disillusionment with their marriage, and, ironically, Norman suffered a heart attack during his verbal assault on Bob at a Hughes family party; and while Bob rode with him in the ambulance to the hospital, Bob’s beloved wife, Jennifer, Kim’s sister, died in a car crash while driving home alone. Lisa, more mature and considerate of others now, is married to attorney Grant Colman, but her life has been complicated by the recent arrival in town of Grant’s ex-wife, Joyce, and the incredible news that she and Grant had a child after their separation, a child Joyce gave out for adoption but now wants to reclaim. Now the story continues... The picture has now come clear for attorney Grant Coiman. He has learned that his ex-wife Joyce neglected to tell him she had a child shortly after their divorce and had given the boy to Mary and Brian Ellison for adoption. Grant, after seeing the adoption papers and considering the boy’s interests, tells Mary he feels the child should remain with them; they are providing a fine, stable home for him. Grant’s wife, Lisa, is pleased with his decision, feeling he has thus closed the door to the past and they can now go on with their own lives. But Joyce has learned that attorney Dick Martin is now back in private practice, and she tells him she was confused when she gave Teddy up years ago and wants him to represent her in a custody action to get her son back. Dick tells Joyce she has a very weak case but he’ll do what he can. He goes out to Laramie to see the  Ellisons, upsetting them very much. Grant, meanwhile, has confided in Chris Hughes, his law partner, that while his name was on the consent form for the Ellisons’ adoption, he didn’t sign the papers; he had, in fact, never known that he had a son. But he’s afraid to open a new can of worms by signing a consent form now, as that would reveal that the adoption papers are not legally correct. Grant confides the situation to Lisa, explaining that if he wanted to,  he could probably get custody of Teddy himself, but that’s not what he feels would be best for the child. Mary Ellison finally breaks under the strain of Dick’s visit and tells Brian that Dr. Paulk, the doctor who arranged the adoption, told her he didn’t know where to find the baby’s father and so he signed the consent form himself. She painfully explains she kept this secret knowing that Brian wouldn’t go through with the adoption if he learned the papers weren’t legally sound. Brian quickly calls their family lawyer, Jerry Butler, who immediately phones Grant to be sure he backs the Ellisons’ claim. Dick realizes from Joyce’s story that Grant couldn’t have signed the papers and tells him he knows. The only person who has a right to file for Teddy’s custody now is Grant; he’s the only injured party. And the moment he files, Dick can sue for invalidation of the Ellisons’ adoption. Grant finally files, to settle the custody question once and for all, but technically he's filing for custody himself. Tom Hughes and Natalie Porter are married in a small, lovely ceremony at the home of his grandparents, Nancy and Chris Hughes. They honeymoon in the Southwest and return full of expectations of happiness. Natalie is disquieted, however, when flowers arrive which are not from her new husband. She covers by pretending to check with the florist and tells Tom it was a wrong delivery and they have told her she might as well keep them. But she knows who sent them. Natalie is upset when, shortly after, Luke Porter arrives in town and seeks her out. But Luke insists he is there only to assure her this is a final farewell and he has now decided to concentrate on. making his own marriage work. Sandy Garrison, Bob’s ex-wife, is working at the  bookstore to fill in for Natalie. Her estranged husband, Norman, recovering from a heart attack he suffered during a drunken confrontation with Bob at the Colonnade Room, is still telling anyone who will listen that Bob and Sandy are having an affair, but ironically will let only Bob care for him at the hospital. His recovery is hampered by his easily aroused temper. Norman anxiously tries to persuade Dr. John Dixon to convince Bob to swear he slipped at the restaurant, thus making them liable for a costly lawsuit, but John won’t do this. Chris discovers a large amount of money missing when checking the books on the Garrisons’ business, but doesn’t want to upset Sandy with this. More to come...
