Abby should receive word that her grandfather Bill has died in Africa. Bill is being buried in Africa, so Abby and Maggie take Alice and Mickey (who remain off-screen) to Africa. Of course, Lucas and Kate would accompany them.

This would leave Sami Lucas-free for a while to commit some new schemes. Meanwhile, when Maggie returns from Africa, she could tell Max that Abby decided to remain with her parents for the summer because she's upset about her grandfather's death.

Presto! Not only has DAYS honoured the memory of Edward Mallory (and written off Bill so they don't have to explain his absence at Alice's eventual funeral), but they have tied it in to Ashley Benson's exit as Abby. And because Bill lives in Africa, there is no need to bring back Jennifer, Jack, Mike, Jeremy, Laura, Mickey, and Alice for a funeral because it wouldn't be happening in Salem.

Kill her. For once, make an exit dramatic.

Of course, I'd prefer that she just stay and be molded into the next generation of heroines, but since she's being written out, they should do it up right.

No, but my idea leaves the door open for Ashley's eventual return. Not everything has to be dramatic, as I was told in my "Alice dies!" thread.

Plus, Abby dying means Melissa Reeves would have to return, and I don't think she'd want to.

No, not everything has to be dramatic. But Abby isn't a veteran -- they could milk some drama with her death without completely pissing off the longtime fans. And Days, at the moment, could use a big dramatic pull.

I don't like the idea of killing off Abby. I prefer tying her exit into Edward Mallory's death. It just makes sense.

I do prefer her dying. Kenny is right in that a dramatic turn of events is needed.

She would be perfect because while she is a child of a core couple and is well known, audience members don't have the same connection to her to be outraged as say, her mother dying.

I could only see Melissa Reeves returning for an on-screen funeral for Alice.

In hopes that DAYS could actually have a long life left, I'd just write Abby off for an eventual return down the road.

Having Jennifer's dad dying wouldn't work without Melissa either. It would make MORE sense for Jennifer to come home and tell Abby the news herself.

The thing about Abby dying is that we would HAVE to have Jack and Jennifer come back for it, and I really can't see Missy agreeing to that. Like Grey Bunney said, I think the only way we'll ever see her back on DAYS is for Alice's funeral.

So Jennifer would go from London to Salem to Africa back to London? I don't think so. If anything, Jenn would call Abby and tell her to meet them in Africa.

they wont abby off, she will probaly be back after she is done filming her movie. They would probaly temp recast abby and i do think they will temp recast abby without abby then my max would not be needed. i like max
