If this leaves the door open for a VR return, then I'm OK with it. The other options, leaving her family, going crazy or a recast wouldn't play well. If you ever get a chance to see the Soapography with VR, you'll hear how she talks about Y&R as her home, etc. Frankly, I think she just wants a break. I only wish her the best. The show, of course, will go on. It did during her other absences and others. Let's hope she comes back soon!

But by faking Dru's death she IS abandoning her family. She is no Malcolm, I can't see her doing this AT ALL. So they could possibly be sealing Dru's fate.

And I think the show went on during her previous exit because the show was written by Bill Bell and was still very good. Now all of the characters are watered down versions with zero depth. Despite the crazy writing Rowell managed to step up, probably because she adlibs a lot.

Now the show is losing a vital character and this has sunk the Winters family. There is no Olivia, Mamie or Davetta!Lily to hold it up. I wonder what will happen to them now.

All they have to do is give Dru a case of amnesia and she's not abandoning her family or staying away on purpose.

Man, I just can't get over the fact that Dru is going to be gone soon. It sucks!!

I do hope it's true that Renee is coming on as a different character though.
