The Willow break in was pathetic. Not the acting, but the stage play of it. Poor, poor, poor. Hope is not deaf and even striking a match could have been heard upstairs. Hope being a cop and trained to be observant and see all, hear all, could have never been fooled by that or the stumbles or the clackety-heels or the talking to herself, etc.

Speaking of talking to herself, Chelsea did a lot of that today.

Drew, Sami was in Billie's apartment because she was there to ask Nick (who was there because of the revelation and Billie went off to meet Bo and wanted someone there in case Chelsea came back) to falsify an amnio test for her. He refused but said he'd get her a blank form tomorrow because he had to wait in case Chelsea came home. Sami told him she would stay until he got back.

I rather enjoyed the kids today. I do enjoy Jed. Not everyone has the idealistic perfect actor fascade, but I love his voice and he is so like college kids and believe it or not but many real people even are as undemonstrative as he is. He has shown intelligence and that is a huge biggie for me. EJ told him that he was the superintendent of the building so that is why he wasn't worried about leaving when he was still in the apartment.

I think the tide is turning and Shawn and Belle will be coming home soon and then I think the story will be quite different all around.

I didn't mind the Hope break in. Hope could have been focused on something and not heard Willow or the noises. That happens to me all the time. Maybe she had a little music box on for her or something and it blocked it out...we don't know. We didn't see every moment like Willow going into her room and all so maybe there were some moments where Hope nearly caught her or whatever and we just didn't see her. I bought it. I actually liked the camera angles of the break in. I have to say though...how dumb is Willow? CARRY A DAMN FLASHLIGHT!! No one would use a candle. I mean she knew what she had to do so carry one. I also laughed at how she tried to stop the fire and just gave up, found the note, left the brush, and left with no remorse. .

Great they named the baby. Now I don't have to listen to the countless complaints over a baby being named. I am already used to the name. I did get annoyed hearing the name over and over but cute Hope/Ciara scenes.

Bo/Billie was good. The scene where Bo found out about her and Nick was priceless  . Loved his facial expressions. Also loved his talk with Chelsea. I am glad he toned his anger down and realized he went over the line a few weeks ago.

Chelsea's scenes were nice. Melvin has impressed me alot. Berris was good too and those scenes where both were alone were heartbreaking. Jed needs to go. Mentier is just so bland and monotone. I don't like the character either. let him serve his purpose and be gone.

Nick/Sami was actually kind of funny. I like that it wasn't the typical Sami DNA switch thing. Ali and Blake were good together. I loved seeing the concern EJ had for Sami and the fainting scene. Loved EJ looking back when he went to his place. I was wondering if he saw the blank report. Lucas and Sami are cute when they are playful so I liked their scenes.

Ok show. Again, I felt direction and movement so things are looking better.

OK, after several weeks, I watched an episode again all the way through. It wasn't ... bad. I will say I don't know if I have ever been happier to see Bope in my life. Cute baby. Willow is so dumb -- chick, it's the 21st century, bring a flashlight.

Jed sucks. Sorry, it's one thing to be undemonstrative, and it's another to read your lines like you're in a second grade play. JMO of course, but I'm not feeling it. James Scott thankfully still brings the evil, but even that is just same old same old for the past few weeks.

Sami and Nick were nice, dunno about the story development (more false lab results, Sami? Really?), but the actors were fun to watch together.

JP's charm is wearing off for me, I have to be honest. Bo/Billie weren't bad though, even though I think they're settling by not playing up some tension between the two.

Chelsea's current drama is a little melodramatic for me. I don't think she's ditch town after Nick concealing the Billie thing, though I can see they're trying with her. Still, though I enjoy Chick, the drama is getting a little forced for me.

I did watch a some of it yesterday, and honestly, Willow was ridiculous in her heels starting that fire. Also, her and Chelsea's jeans are so tight, wardrobe probably have to melt them to get them off! Seriously, I hope Willow is found out soon. How the writers will get her out of this one will be interesting. I would hope after this fire, she's locked up and the key dumped in the Salem River, but I know that won't happen anytime soon.

I don't mind the friendliness between Bo and Billie. It's time that they settled their differences as far as Hope and Chelsea are concerned. I like them as friends. They need to work on the parenting part. No wonder their daughter's a messed-up drama queen. Of course, Chelsea brought a lot of it on herself, but she's not who she was a year ago and the constant flip-flopping Bo and Billie do with her doesn't help things. Salem needs mandatory parenting classes, or else Patch will have some roomies with him in the nut house.

Also, Darth Elvis is quickly getting old. With Sami being pregnant, they'll probably drag this out for 6 more months, unless that rumor about the baby switch comes true.

    • Indeed. I may try to watch it in full sometime, but not anytime soon... Mark played Sean Baxter for a few episodes when Courtney married Andy. Burke was either on Broadway or at OLTL at that time, I suppose.
    • Well, Josh was a horndog. LOL Yep. It was one of the first really weird things Reva did with her PPD. She became obsessed with the idea that Dylan and Sam should get married. Sam was only 17, and needed her parent's permission. Reva helped them leave town so they could go to a neighboring state where Sam was old enough. Ross, Billy and Josh stopped them, then Sam went to India to try and persaude Justin. Reva followed her and didn't tell Josh she was going. While Reva was gone, Josh advertised for nannies, and Harley applied. He ended up hiring someone else. But when Reva returned, she hired Harley because (in her weird mental state) she wanted someone she could trust with the kids (because she feared Josh was trying to get rid of her and that Vanessa wanted the children.). After Reva starts treatment, she asks Harley to stay until she's stronger because she's good with the kids. At the party, Reva starts going off the rails, insulting Justin and Josh hauls her to a private dining room to ask WTF. Reva starts confronting him about the "affair" with Vanessa, and he realizes she is weird. He locks her in the dining room and frees Mindy and Van from the ladies room (where Reva has locked them in). Van starts telling him that Reva attacked her and needs help.  Reva escapes out the window of the dining room and goes back to the party, climbs onto a table and starts a striptease. Josh gets her to stop, takes her home and after filling Ed in, decides to go to the doctor the next day. Reva then takes off and spends days running around town, coming on to a guy she thinks is Billy, Billy, Hamp, Frank and Roger.  Roger takes her to his apartment and takes nude pictures of her, which he tries to blackmail Billy with. He wants the deed to the land the Towers is on in exchange for them. (Billy had been left the deed by a sweet old lady who lost her home in the 5th street fire. Roger had stolen the deed from her before she died. After Roger took those pics of Reva, she saw him hide them, and took an envelope from the hiding place. She didn't realize she'd taken the deed and not the pictures.)  Anyway, Billy and Vanessa trick Roger into burning the pictures, claim the deed and at the Towers opening reveal that Billy owns the land and therefore the Towers. That's what led to Roger and Alex's breakup and Roger and Mindy's affair. Mark Lewis was on ATWT? 1986 is not a good year, storywise. No bueno. Muy no bueno.
    • All the time they spent trying to make viewers feel sorry for Chad only for him to not even last that long. I wonder if they knew Richard Burgi was going so quickly. You're right about Josie replacing Cheryl. On paper, this should have made sense, given all the ties Josie had to the canvas, but I did prefer Cheryl. There was something very synthetic about Alexandra Wilson.  I suppose even if she did have some fans they were just so used to getting rid of people left and right, so she was more collateral damage. As you said above I do wonder what the plans were for Peggy Lazarus. I think AWHP mentioned her once telling Peter that Peggy Lazarus wasn't her real name. Maybe she would have been another Carl moll... Rebecca Hollen never did get her due in her soap roles.
    • So true...Hackney might have had a story on FC with Richard being an old lover of his, but reveals herself to be a Cartel member and blackmails Richard with something into doing her dirty work  LOL. But of course Richard had his hands full with the double trouble sisters Ms. Jones and Ms. Braxton that season.

    • Cat herself will be a stumbling block all her own as she vowed to Chad to stay away from him, thus redeeming her of her crime morally. Classic DAYS would have them gazing longingly at each other at Doug's Place or Blondie's, while Liz is serenading the room with a song aptly chosen to represent their feelings of emotional turmoil.
    • From what I just recently watched, they were setting her up to go into future stories. She was Emmy nomination worthy in the material I saw. If some viewers did not like her, the character could have been rehabilitated after that sick storyline. It feels like they destroyed a character for fun and then tossed her to the curb. Spencer had chemistry with everyone. I'm just retroactively angry on Spencer's behalf.  You're right about how Cheryl was often forgotten and pushed aside and I would take Cheryl over Josie. I think soaps need characters like Cheryl. Characters like Josie are way too common. Josie always got on my nerves.
    • CBS was back in third place in 1994/95. That was the season CBS lost NFL broadcasting rights which also cost them several established affiliates in major media markets. 1995 CBS was sold to Westinghouse and Les Moonves arrived. 1995/96 CBS was trying to be young and cool to compete with NBC and Fox, but it was an epic failure and CBS was once again in third place.
    • I tend to think that Chad will actually listen to Jen (this time). And that will be the next stumbling block in their relationship, which will open the possibilities for Cat to seek another member of their love triangle... To iterate my earlier thought, I am also not a fan of the person Melissa Reeves, but the character of Jennifer looks so chic this week, especially in comparison to Hope (and Gabi).  That blunt haircut is a winner.
    • I think Cheryl was essentially replaced by Josie, and it seems likely that Lemay wanted to bring the Frames back into the picture and for a variety of reasons that it would be McKinnons who would make way for them. Cheryl didn't really get many layers -- she was pretty and kind and sweet and faded into the background so that Scott could participate in the AIDS storyline with Dawn. Looking at the AWHP, other than (not very) shockingly being in love with her mother's adopted son Scott, Cheryl apparently went out with Sam and flirted with much-too-old-for-her John Hudson and MJ's ex-boyfriend/pimp Chad. I know MJ told Mary that she had been a prostitute, but did she tell Cheryl and did she tell anyone about Chad's pimping?
    • I feel the same way about Melissa Reeves' Jennifer. She just makes the show feel like home by her presence alone. I am perfectly okay with them coming in every once and awhile, which probably fits Reeves' schedule better anyway. Their connections to Salem are still there: JJ, the grandkids, Jack still owning half of The Spectator ... they're perfect recurring characters. All this talk of Jennifer being in the wrong regarding Cat is absurd. Jennifer is not being villainized in any way, shape, or form, she's just being allowed to actually be human, which adds odds to the obstacle of Chad and Cat eventually getting together. All inner conflict. Keep it coming!
