Just to remind people.....there is a system of rules here located at the top of the pages:

1. The flaming of members or staff at SON is not allowed. Flaming is completely unacceptable and will be dealt with immediately. No matter what that person has said to you, there is no reason for you to go off on him or her.

3. Respect others on the board. There’s no need to resort to calling someone out of their name just because they may disagree with you. Should a member be found to be harassing another via board posts, PM’s or e-mail sent through our boards, that person will have his/her account banned immediately.

The Good: Dan G., ( and Julia Berman (this kid is really really good)

The Bad: Sorry Shane, I am a OLTL fan most of the time, but the show should not have been nominated. That nomination rewards Higley's gimmick approach to storytelling. I thought the execution storyline was great. But one day of good stories a year does not deserve an emmy nomination. Had this been the previous year, I would have agreed, but last year was cheap and full of gimmicks. Also, I don't think Guiding Light deserved the nominations it received.

The UGLY:::: Nobody from DOOL was nominated and that is absolute travestry. The show has some of the best actors on Daytime. Peter Reckell and Kristin Alfonso (is that her name? LOL) who play Bo and Hope both deserved nominations. Also, Nancy Lee Grahn deserved a nomination. I like the woman who plays Carly, but NLG was special this year. Also NLG had a part comparable to Kim Zimmer and NLG did far better. That indeed is ugly and reflects network power over an industry rewarded its finest performances.

So once again, the Ugy and it's big one, is that the industry cheapens its honors by playing network games rather than truly rewarding the best in the industry. Where many of the best were nominated, too many were overlooked and instead replaced by the undeserving.

First all, to agree with Rick and Ryan....this sort of behavior will not tolerated here at SON, and if it continues appropriate action will be taken.

Kepp in mind those rules Ryan quoted.

Also, I'm still trying to figure out exactly how OLTL got a nom. for Best Daytime Drama.

But wouldn't that be a slap in the face to Frons if they won!

Well I can it going both ways.

On the plus side it would be good for the show....but, as you pointed out, on the negative side it would say to Frons that what he's doing is correct.

That being said, I personally hope OLTL wins it this year.

I have to disagree with that somewhat.

While I can't speak for AMC or GH since I don't watch them.....but OLTL was robbed in the Lead Actor and Younger Actress nominations with the glaring omissions of Trevor St. John and Kristen Alderson.

As for the other categories, I don't feel that OLTL did too badly in them.

I'd say something, but......

You took the words right out of my mouth........

Somebody has his panties in a bunch over Horseteeth! :D:lol:

I think the NLG fans should boycott the Emmys for sure.

But ABC got some deserved nods- Genie Francis, Heather Tom, Dan Gauthier, Julie Berman, Anthony Geary- all of which have an excellent chance of winning.

As for NBC boycotting, I hope DAYS takes the high road. The show needs all the promotion it can get and I hope they take all of it, since PSSNS has been cancelled.

It really does suck for NBC fans though, but in all honesty, the only performers on NBC that were on par with CBS in 2006 were Peter Reckell and Lindsay Hartley. (Kristian Alfonso, Julie Pinson & Ali Sweeney are debatable) Good for James Stevenson for breaking through, however!

There is no way that CBS deserved to own ALL BLOCKS IN THE LEAD ACTRESS CATEGORY........

There is no way that CBS deserved to have 4 of the 5 blocks in the lead actor category.

There were GLARING omissions from both ABC and NBC and fans have a right to be pissed off.

Because they didn't prevail this year? Don't the fans complain how EVIL the network is.

The only glaring oversight from ABC was Nancy Lee Grahn for 'Best Actress,' and Michael E. Knight for Best Lead Actor, and I would say GH for 'Best Show' and Scott Clifton for 'Best Younger Actor' (since he got nommed for 'lesser' work). Other than that, they did good.

Anthony Geary (Luke Spencer, GH)

Rick Heart (Ric Lansing, GH)

Dan Gauthier (Kevin Buchanan, OLTL)

Renee Elise Goldsberry (Evangeline Williamson, OLTL)

Heather Tom (Kelly Cramer, OLTL)

Genie Francis (Laura Spencer, GH)

Rebecca Herbst (Elizabeth Webber, GH)

Julie Berman (Lulu Spencer, GH)

Leven Rambin (Lily Montgomery, AMC)

OLTL/GH in respective categories.

Again...nothing to be ashamed of.
